I'll pull on a blue and white shirt but I'm 64 give me a break, No, fuck off he's fucking shit like the most of them. I want a Buxton team that all, we want a team that gives its all in a attacking mode not 10 behind the ball shite 64 year old but post like you're a spoilt pre-pubescent teen. Thought did cross my mind too.

Grim performance, however we were robbed, deffo foul on Hoggy - onwards & upwards - UTT. We weren’t ’robbed’; the stats tell us that. And if you watched it, I’m sure you’d agree. From Maxwells save and Darlings miss in the last min. Hogg should know better, and in that part of the pitch. Hoggy makes that tackle for us, the ref blows, we’re incensed. He/we shouldn’t have invited it. We don’t give credit to the finish, which was superb. Watched the game, watched the so called highlights, as previously stated, our performance was grim, Hoggy was fouled, referee missed it! Let's agree to disagree - UTT.

Yes it was a foul, it was also the sort of pass you don't want to receive at any time of the game let alone halfway through stoppage, Hogg was taken off late in midweek & we still had a sub left to do the same yesterday......Can't be easy defending constantly at DM game after game, who knows we may well attack the Robins unless they have a bumper win today & scare us off.

Whether we were completely outplayed or not, it was a foul on Hoggy, free kick to us full stop. They don’t crate the chance, they don’t score, end of.

We weren't outplayed..the tactic was to not compete with a massively superior Real Madrid..oh, sorry fookin Swansea...that's Swansea in 18th place...no wins in 6...THAT Swansea...I can forgive this tactic at Sunderland, and against Southampton...but to Swansea...?? I've no idea what it does to team morale when DM tells them it's another defensive block day ...because we're not good enough to take them on...

I've no idea what it does to team morale when DM tells them it's another defensive block day ...because we're not good enough to take them on... Although I fully understand and accept a more cautious approach away from home, it does seem DM was a little overly defensive against a side we would have leapfrogged in the table had we won. In retrospect it might have been better to at least attempt to get a second goal before becoming entrenched in our our own half. That said, we have a small squad and it was a long journey at the end of a tough, energy-sapping week. Perhaps, rightly or wrongly, DM decided that an ultra-defensive approach was the only way to get a result. Of course, the early goal for Town will have also have influenced his tactics. An unexpected lead that we could defend. In general, I think at times we could adopt a slightly more adventurous approach - particularly against teams at the bottom end of the table - but at the moment we are getting results, so the end justifies the means.

I didn't get back in time to watch first half and literally the only thing I saw was Ward miss a golden chance with the header at the end. Easily as good a chance as Darling had at the end. I've seen Headley's chance on replay and don't think Swansea created a chance as good as that.
To be honest I think we were massively unlucky as it was a clear foul on Hogg. If we'd have got a win like that with NW, the same people who are slagging off Moore, would have been hailing a Warnock masterclass and getting the "You've just been Warnocked" gif out.

First match for me in a long while.
I was expecting a squeaky bum worrying afternoon of shit football from us, based on sone of the posts on here regarding recent performances. What I saw was a team that had a game plan, players who stuck to their tasks and played to stay tight at the back and look for a break (of which we had several). OK we are not table topping contenders and we need to strengthen to play a more front foot type of game but I thought it was an interesting tactical challenge between the two managers in last years League 1 playoff final. Swansea huffed and puffed and moved the ball from side to side that often without any real penetration, it was like watching a tennis match.
Our goal game from an early break, the ball was played into an area where, as happened, any touch could put it into the back of the net. Theirs after a foul on Hogg. For me the team looked solid and was working hard despite its limitations. Sorba ran his socks off and tactical changes were made during the match - after about 20 mins in the first have they were clearly told to press higher up the pitch, in the second half Headley and Thomas swapped wings which also improved things.
When Bolasie came on he improved things for them and Jackson was getting pulled about - a lot, the following sub of him with REG coming on tightened that up significantly and basically took Bolasie out of the game. The only issue then, that REG's attacking from right back was none existent.
Overall I would say we looked reasonably comfortable and Swansea for all their possession weren't able to break through us. We were unlucky with the draw. If this gets us through to January with a few more points along the way then I would consider that the best we can hope for.

Got back to Manchester Piccadilly at 00:05 last night after a heavily delayed return train journey from Swansea. Spent train ride home talking to a Swansea fan who lived in Holyhead but was staying overnight in Crewe for some reason. He travels to every home game by train - 4hrs plus each way and neither of us could really put into words our reason for going to the game. When you look at cost, time, weather it seems almost completely irrational that anyone, never mind 15,000 people, would spend their day watching Swansea v Huddersfield!
With that context in mind, I didn’t think it was too bad yesterday, but do agree that we could surely be just a tiny bit more adventurous going forward. The amount of time we stopped and went back after getting to edge of penalty area yesterday was frustrating (usually - but not always, because there was no one in box of course). We do have pace in the team, particularly when Burgzorg and Koroma came on, but don’t seem to use it well.
I can count on the fingers of one hand the amount of Town games I’ve watched since we got relegated where we looked like a better technical and passing team than the opposition. Not a problem in the play off season but not great for supporter morale when it’s constant backs to the wall stuff during the poor seasons. Would love it if we could find a ‘technician’ from somewhere who had the potential to do something brilliant in a match now and again. Yesterday, like all season, we were just passive and let things happen around us without ever really trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck. With our current squad I understand this but would love it if future transfers allowed us to remodel our play. Just don’t know where these players are coming from though.
I’ve always liked Ilias Chair and Lee Tomlin but not sure either in their prime would pass the ‘always give 100%, never shirk a tackle’ mantra that we rightfully demand as Town fans!
Edit - not suggesting we sign Chair or the retired Lee Tomlin BTW. Just think a player of this ilk might make us more interesting to watch! Would probably see us shipping a load more goals too of course.

They’ll be the ones who can ensure draws are not defeats, etc.

Well - What a bloody day of mixed emotions yesterday then...
I had only just got in the door of Luchie’s Bar at Bowmore Hotel and low and behold Town are in front 👍
It seemed too early but of course we always take it - So a double Whyte & Mackay it was then 🥃 🥃
Half Time and still in the lead - so far so good 😊
75 percent % of the game gone and still winning 👍
Then into the last ten minutes and I asked the lads would we hold on - everyone said NO (quelle surprise there then)...
‘Gindy’ says it’d happen on 90+1 - ‘Bluey’ said 90+4 (bang on) - And ‘Pandy’ said 90+7 -
What a fcukin sickening feeling when it finally happened - YET AGAIN -
Really gutted and at the time I shouted ‘I’d rather have lost 6-0’ - Obviously in the sober cold light of day that’s not the case but high negative emotion and all that not helped one little bit by a late winner for Plymouth Argyle and for The Wendy’s as well...
I think that five points outta the last nine ain’t bad but it could’ve been SEVEN if we could just hang on...
I don’t know - It just seems to happen so bloody frequently with Town that it’s Psyceatric and Psycological now for sure ! ☹️
Anyway onwards and upwards to Bristol City now !

This football is just one crazy "Merry Go Round" no patience pathetic I know we are the worse at it but our current manager is about the 12th longest serving which says it all. Mind you if some fans had their way he would've gone a while back too. Seems the Swansea fans are happy to see Duff go - never really found any consistency and wasn't popular.

Duff to Rotherham looks a decent fit. Although with contract pay offs it's not that easy to jump straight into another job nowadays.

I can kind of see why Mowbray has gone. Sunderland have spent a lot of money, they're a big club and they want to be back at the top table. The team I saw play us last week doesn't have a hope of going up. I think it's acknowledged that Mowbray is a decent manager, but he does seem to have a limit in terms of what he's capable of achieving. He's now been let go by various clubs after a few seasons of moderate success, which is probably quite telling.
