Great result, huge smile on my face. But let's be honest; that was pretty dreadful.
The tactics were baffling, it was incredibly hard to work out. No one in the centre of midfield wanted the ball or wanted to take ownership which is fairly predictable when you have Kasumu and Matos in there. Even more worrying was the fact you had Kasumu every time Nicholls had the ball peeling to the right flank, clearly in an an attempt to create an overload. The issue being when the ball did go that way it broke down instantly and the 80% of the time Nicholls had to go elsewhere, Millwall then won everything in the air and we only had Matos in the centre of the park to attempt to win a second ball against 3/4 Millwall players. A more incisive team would've torn us apart from this several times.
We then had Thomas playing more central than Kasumu actually was. So we just made out most effective player totally ineffective by our own tactical choices. Burgzorg and Koroma (both players who need to be carried which I know sounds a tad harsh on Koroma, but his form has been very poor for the last 7/8 games now) is like starting with a player down as it is. Luckily Millwall were awful, but it was very worrying to watch.

The game v Millwall, was exactly as I expected it to be, goven that they're managed by Neil Harris. It was ugly, but we won, even though it was nip & tuck. Players were nervy, although Pearson wasn't at his best, he's a player made for trench warfare. We had to do battle with Millwall, never going to be an easy game. Let's hope we catch PNE, on a bad day, they are vulnerable, with recent homes games against Stoke, highlighting that they can be beaten - UTT.

That Honeyman was an absolute shithouse. Reminded me of the bad guy out of A Knights Tale. Great film. Love that film, got panned to hell, but I really enjoyed it.

Watching the 'highlights' I was amazed to see Millwall had far more chances than us and should have won by at least 2 or 3 goals🤔 The melees around the Millwall goal never happened and the shots/shots on target difference were in my own mind and misinformation from the BBC and other sports sites😔 Its a warning, if anyone needs it, if its not live on tv or you dont go to the game, you are likely to have little idea what happened from the 'selected highlights'...🤨 Been saying that for years Galph. Been happening for ages (probably not just us) that our highlights consist of any of our goals, but very little else, even when we dominate a game. I remember one set of highlights we'd beaten someone 3-1 (Boro I think but could be wrong); they ONLY showed our 3 goals, but showed the other teams's goal, plus about half a dozen chances, some not even close. And it wasn't one of those games where every shot we had went in, the keeper was MOM, we'd hit the post twice and had one cleared off the line, none of which were shown.
