That was basically a case of Preston going in at half-time and their manager saying to them; "What are you playing at lads? This lot are shit!". After the first goal went in, they absolutely destroyed us with their passing game. The difference in quality was massively apparent. This is the biggest difference for me. Lots of other championship teams have genuine championship quality players that can quickly move the ball. Slick one and 2 touch passing and players moving into space. Years of underinvestment have left us in a place where we don’t have players that can do that at championship level. So when they are on the ball, instead of having the ability to quickly pass the ball, they just run with it, before being tackled or closed down and loosing possession. There’s not really a lot that any coach can do, as the players simply aren’t good enough to play at a consistent level in the championship. They are not good enough to quickly and slickly pass the ball at this level. And no matter how much coaching they get, the vast majority of them never will be. The penalty was a massive call tonight. However, what on earth were we doing to even be in a position to give the referee the option. We had good possession of the ball outside our box…….simply players that can’t quickly pass and move at championship level results in us running with the ball and loosing possession. Sadly this time in our own box Great post and sums up why we are where we are. Too many players who simply aren’t good enough at this level and sorry but how the hell is Matos a Chelsea player , shocking first touch like so many in this poor team.

Bewildered ! I was rather excited again when AB went a bit ‘gung ho’ again bringing on attack minded players and so wanted us to keep control of the ball string a few passes build some confidence and create some chances. Alas we lack so much technical ability that the ball just bounces off players! We really struggle with ball control, passing and without Hoggy ,despite his limitations, and Matos (who was poor tonight) the ability to win clean ball back. With town these last 2 seasons it’s always hope over expectation.
I don’t blame AB, with a few exceptions the squad are just not good enough. Like managers before him AB was missold by our Director of football the abilities of our players. He is trying to develop a style which players have zero hope of adapting to. A collective failure based on lack of technique, inability to comprehend and execute instructions, low morale and lack of fight. Warnock got a shift out of these players ( unlike at Aberdeen) because he knew the league inside out. He knew the players limitations before he stepped through the door. He drilled them to play basic football to play to their individual strengths and never be in a position where their weaknesses could be exposed. Yes he brought in the lad from Stoke who has had so much criticism yet under Warnock he would never have ventured within 10 yards of the halfway line. He knew and accepted every players limitations and respected their weaknesses. Personally I think AB will leave because he needs much better players than he now has or will have in the future if he is to have any success. Possibly the right man at the wrong time I am afraid.

We are odds on for relegation again with the bookies. Back to square one, Saturday’s victory wasted.

Not sure how Jackson and Wiles got a 4 and a 5 rating respectively on Chickens marks out of 10. Shouldn’t have been higher than a 2. Completely fell apart against a team who didn’t show anything for 60 minutes. I can’t recall a team where every single player can’t play a 5 yard pass. I honestly can’t wait to see the back of 90% of this squad. A huge reset needs to happen and hopefully Cartwright doesn’t have a say in any of them. It seriously beggars belief .

He's not going to find it in league one He won’t be here in league one. Find it bizarre people think he will be. Agate taking us down with a whimper. I don’t think so. Second successive relegation for Andre. Who’d he get relegated with in his last job?

I think his subs are poor often leaving us short in the middle which is obviously the most important area. I know Matos was poor, i know we had no midfield on the bench but bringing forwards on played right into Preston’s hands.

Just got back. I would love to know how many times this season we have conceded in the first 10 minutes after half time. It is so embarrassingly predictable.
I fear that’s us done now.
Nothing to suggest this set of players have enough to get us over the line. Tough game at Bristol City on Saturday - 1 point at best.
Need to finish above 2 of Sheff Wednesday, Birmingham and Plymouth. Brum have Rotherham to play and a game in hand, Plymouth have a 2 point + GD head start and Wednesday are fighting more than us.
I think we need 7 points to give ourselves a shot and that is not happening.

Swansea and Birmingham are must wins because Bristol and Ipswich cannot see us getting anything from those .

No chance we’re surviving this season. What’s the point anyway as 90% of this squad ain’t good enough so we’d only struggle again next season.
Go down, offload as many of these imposters as possible and try and improve to get back up with an hungry new squad.

We're a very poor side, with players who don't seem to want it anywhere near as much as players in other sides at the bottom. We were done after the first managerial change farce of the season. We're not just unlucky, we've earned where we are.

There were some really bad performances across the pitch. We really needed Wiles to get hold of the ball and dictate the game, speed it up or slow it down, he didn’t. Sorba was dreadful in the second half. Never contests a header, lazy and casual and seems to think he is much better than he is. The last corner he sent over everyone summed it up. Jackson I’m afraid looks like he needs taking out of the firing line, I’m sure he’s a decent player but atm he looks lost and everything seems to be going wrong. I hope he comes back from it. Pearson, please don’t ask him to pass a ball. Head it- yes but that’s it. So many other bad performances and decision making. If I was AB I think I would quit.

in fairness using Andres past achievements doesn’t help anything. If anything it makes him seem worse. The whole losing 5-3 positivity is based on the mentality of not being afraid to go toe to toe with a top side, something which we haven’t even tried in years.I guess there's a reason for that. No way do worthy’s Town go to Rotherham and perform like they did under AB.

Got back an hour ago and still fuming (I was the bloke who rang in on the radio and spoke to them about our spineless performance).
Believe me, Preston were poor and were never going to create anything until that stupid penalty. Then they gained confidence, realised how poor we were, and totally deserved the four goals. Goodness me, we were awful in midfield and up front - we really were, and but for Matty P and Helik it could have been a lot worse.
Pearson,Nichols and Helik showed pride and fight - that was more or less it.
Jackson - followed his stinker on Saturday with another stinker.
Wiles - slow, in speed of thought and across the pitch. For the umpteenth time - is either unfit, doesn't give a monkey's or has no confidence.
Kasumu - kept giving away possession - truly awful passing. Duane Holmes, yes Duane Holmes, showed him how it's done.
Berzorg - NEVER a central striker in a million years. Had an assist in our goal by mis-hitting a shot like a bullet to Kongolo. Showed no passion and little interest to get involved.Genuinely the only time he seemed to show an ounce of passion was when he demanded respect from the supporter who was shouting at him when the match had finished.
Kongola - good goal and next to nothing else.
Generally as soon as they scored we had a mockery of a midfield and attack and got EXACTLY what this spineless bunch deserved. If you think I'm exaggerating you weren't there to see how Preston were there for the taking. Relegation is beckoning and it will be totally deserved. What a shambles.

Good to see all the teams at the bottom fighting for their lives tonight. And therein very much lies the problem I’m afraid... I make out Matchday charts (on paper) with whose playing who and their league placings prior to the kick offs... Tonight it was - Millwall (20) v Leceister (1) - Who wins - you’ve guessed it... ☹️ Plymouth (19) v QPR (17) - A draw - natural enough... Preston (10) v Huddersfield Town (21) - The higher team win... Wendy’s (23) v Norwich (6) - Another shock result... On Saturday it was - Blackburn (17) v Southampton (4) - A great point for a team fighting relegation... QPR (16) v Wendy’s (23) - A good win for the ones in the relegation spots... Stoke (18) v WBA (2) - A brilliant point for Stoke was this as well... Huddersfield Town (22) v Millwall (19) - That injury time winner is really all that’s keeping us hanging on in there and just hanging on... Tommorrow night it’s - Birmingham (22) v Cardiff (11) - It wouldn’t surprise me if Birmingham win it... Bristol City (12) v Blackburn (16) - Again Blackburn could nick something here... Swansea (15) v Stoke (18) - Again Who’d bet against Stoke and even a draw then both have gained... The problem is that all these other teams around us are pretty constantly (or certainly far more constantly than Town) picking up valuable and shock points and tragically for us, - wins - against far higher opponents both home and away at the top end of the table in the case of many of them no less... We simply aren’t gonna sustain this and really the games against Bristol City, Swansea and Birmingham are now at the UTTERLY CRITICAL stage as we grimly hang on to Championship life 🙏 as I certainly don’t see us taking anything at Ipswich Town for sure... I’d have confidence in some of those about us picking up a point there maybe even all three points... The only hope that I’m clinging to now is the home games... But even at that...

How badly injured are Hogg / Rudoni? If Rudoni is fit and Hogg isn’t he has to start at 8 / middle now
We got away with a player who spends half his time on the floor and a good league one player in centre mid on Sat through the opposition being inept.

Watched AB’s post match interview. Looks and sounds shellshocked at that 2nd half performance. As he says if you can’t control the football you can’t win games. Clearly he is alarmed at the lack of technique and the lack of football brain of those he is now working with. Honest but a sad indictment of where we are at. The club have deep problems, recruitment poor and the quality and confidence of the youngsters coming through from below is sadly exposed at this level.
