We are going to be a mid table side at best, this is a very tough league to get out off. Do you want to put a cheeky wager on old boy? I say we'll finish Top 10, you can have the rest down to 24. Top 10 should be absolute bare minimum, bare minimum. And that will disappoint many and see diminishing attendances irrespective of how much a season card is.

Totally agree but the poster I was replying to said we'd finish mid table at absolute best, so I wanted to make some money.

I remember a similar poll to this when we came down from the Premier League with similar predictions. That worked out well 😔

That worked out well 😔 I think the quality of the manager we now have in place should almost guarantee we won’t be scratching around at the wrong end of the table, Duff has proven himself more than capable at this level.

Can't see us topping the league.
Are the players hungry for it...
Judging by last year's performances then no ..
Rotherham have reinvented their squad with class signings. Maybe them top then Portsmouth Then us... But we need Healey firing I think he is a brilliant player.
Hogg,Ward,Pearson,Lees to go at the end of the year for me. Thanks for the service and hopefully a promotion but we need new talent. Not bottom end championship players on the decline.

These threads are bonkers, are some Town fans so unaware of what goes on in other leagues? On the fixtures thread we had someone saying we'd play Oxford 1st, the same Oxford that won promotion to The Championship now someone is saying we'll go up with Portsmouth....again, the same Portsmouth that won the League One title and who are off to Elland Road first game.

With Alfie may top 2 without top 6 What if we bring in someone better than Alfie May? Plenty of quality strikers around the world. What if Healey outscorers him?

You'd think we were about to miss out on one of the greatest players the football league has ever seen. When Town were in the Premier League he was 24 and playing for Hythe Town. He didn't succeed at Donny which was why he joined Cheltenham in 2020. It's only then that he's started to do well and has one good season in league one under his belt. If he signs, good. If he doesn't, so what.

Hadn't realised he had two league one seasons with Cheltenham How many were penalties? Have to take that in to account because he won't be getting any here

We were joint 2nd favourites to win the league at 8/1 this morning, we sign Herbie Kane and now we're 5th favourites at 11/1 on SkyBet? 🤔

I was trying to find that review of prospects thing by Don Goodman.
All you need to know about Brum etc. is that they’re a big city club. Woe betide anyone who bad mouths the big lads in the little league.
Town are still seen by many as a lower league club, despite a history that many clubs above us would kill for.
It’s just a fashion thing really, big city clubs will always gain favour with pundits and bookies, the latter because they may have more to lose if they don’t price clubs like Brum quite short.
I’m looking forward to competing and seeing a few smiles back on peoples faces this season. Here’s hoping… 🤞

Not sure where to post this so anyone can feel free to move the post. But based on the rumours dotting about I reckon we’re going to be starting the season something like below.(disclaimer..this is my opinion and not fact 😀) Nicholls Spencer. Bench Helik Maxwell Ruffels Headley Sorensen Lees New cm/Hogg Turton Evans Hogg Kane Wiles Miller Iorpenda Healey Koroma New cf. Ward
This would leave out chapman, pearson,Kasumu,Jackson,Harratt, jones I think for the level that looks fairly strong. No idea what would happen with Pearson or Kasumu and I could make a case for jones instead of koroma on the bench. The centre halves iv based on him seemingly wanting them to step out on the ball.Iv gone Ruffels and not turton to keep players on their natural foot and would have Ruffels slightly better in the air.Though I concede Ruffels lacks pace.Iv gone miller over headley as believe he’d be more switched on positionally than headley. Just my take anyway.
Id like to add iv no idea why it’s set out like that when posted as when typed it out it wasn’t,apologies if hard to decipher

If we don't go all season unbeaten, I'll be very disappointed. Likewise and with style almost every week. I also dont want to be cold at any point or for it to rain on my walk to and from the ground. Other than those stipulations, nothing too much really.🤯

Just to be able to enjoy going to games again, seeing some decent games and more wins than losses will do me. Last couple of seasons it's been a chore rather than a pleasure going to games.

With all due respect, this sounds identical to what people were saying when we were relegated from the Premier League.

To be fair at the time we thought we might be able to at least half compete financially. It wasn’t to be the case. Other than Birmingham the shouldn’t(not shouldn’t not won’t 😀) be the case.
