I wanted to add something for perspective. It may not pan out anything like this but it’s something to think on over the break. Derby county got automatics last season. They lost 10 games and drew 8.if we were to follow those stats and add them to ours currently it would leave 21 games. We’d need to win that amount of games.21 out of 32.Do we feel that is possible? When I think about getting 21 wins I struggle with it.On the flip side when I look at another 5 losses and 6 more draws across the season it seems more possible. On average 7 wins,2draws,1 loss per 10 game block. Does seem a tough ask given we’ve won 7 in 14. Personally on looking I think playoffs seems likely, think we’ll end up better than mid table. Isn’t having no games fun 🙄

Was thinking playoffs before the season kicked off and I still think playoffs. This is a shit league and I think we will be just that bit less shit than most other teams. No way automatic. Must admit, I've been surprised just how big the gap between Championship and League 1 is. I said we'd finish 8th but I do now think the playoffs is likely. Can't say as I'm confident of success if/when we get there though unless we can sort out that soft underbelly. It's generally mental toughness that gets you through those games and that's our biggest weakness.

I think 8th or 9th is realistic, will depend on the window and keeping the fragile players in the squad injury free.

Wycombe boss Matt Bloomfield just doing an interview on 5live with Chris Sutton & co, obviously disappointed about last Saturday's postponement but he sounds ultra confidence about the season ahead.
Chris Sutton asked about his expectations before the start of the season, MB said he knew it would be tough with so many big clubs (like Town, Brum, Wrexham & Rotherham) but we're just carry on without the high expectation that some of those clubs are playing under......Mentioned about meeting up with ex boss Ainsworth now at Shrewsbury & Wycombe visiting on Dec 14th, easy 3 points surely?

I can see us falling short.
On paper we have a squad good enough for the plat offs and even challenge for top two.
It's our mentality that's letting us down. We go one down and we fall apart. I know we came back from behind at Crawley but that doesn't happen often and that's a side we should be beating if we're serious about promotion.
I think we'll have a few dips in form during the rest of the season that'll ultimately see us 7th/8th.
I don't think Duff should go though. We need to clear out a good chunk of the squad and try to rebuild around a philosophy/mentality. I think alot of our players are used to losing due to the last few years in the championship and a fresh start somewhere ekse would be good for all parties.
