'Been OK' isn't massively overstating anything. It's saying he's not been great and hasn't been awful. There's a middle ground. I said he was average. There's your middle ground. So still a better third choice left-back than virtually anyone else in the division has. Which was precisely my point I really don't know what you expect of footballers and the club sometimes.

John Percy done a good piece in the telegraph on why Birmingham are rightly favourites for the League one title. Actions speak louder than words and they've blown us right out of the water. Not that it should be a surprise, KN has talked a great game since day 1 particularly on X but delivered zilch so far. Can't actually remember the quote for what he said about this summer but its been underwhelming either way. Thankfully I think Duff is a good coach just a shame he hasn't been backed I imagine as he expected to be. He even had a dig at our past owner Well kev..I'd rather be a bottom half championship club for a decade than be in league one All talk and no action I couldn't give a fcuk if the stadium is falling apart...its a decent team we need not fancy dressing rooms A bit of numb statement. Stadium falls down, club effetivel goes bust

The expectation at Birmingham & Bolton is at 'fever pitch' with ticket sales for the opening home games, the Brummies have sold out for this weeks visit of Reading & the week after Bolton have so far sold over 21000 for the visit of Wrexham, who only received the upper tier (2200) from the Wanderers.....Towns 3rd (Bolton) & 5th (Brum) away games could be sell outs too, unless their bubble has burst (hopefully) beforehand.

He has also taken Rotherham up from this level before.

Do those pundits have it in for the other 20 clubs too? Having inflated views of your own team’s chances is one thing but expecting neutrals to share them is silly.
Rotherham are way more ready for this season than Town. I think they were planning for this season before the end of the last. They have a good recent record of getting promotion from this division. Town are making it up as they go along.

We’ve lost two of our stronger players, from outside at least, and while we might have sorted the midfield, there isn’t enough firepower to get automatics.

Yup - with the squad as it is at this very moment, we're a club that is likely going to finish somewhere between 4th and 10th. We're perhaps 2 decent players and a bit of luck away from being nailed on in the top 4 or 5....the pundits can't tip on the basis of guessing we'll improve our squad further, given the same applies to everyone else who like Town haven't brought that many in. Hopefully we don't throw away too many points before the squad is finalised...a goal or a point now could make all the difference next May in terms of achieving automatic or sneaking into the play-offs.

Well I hate to say it but I’m just not feeling it this season. We were relegated last season because of a catalogue of errors the club made and I haven’t bought into renewing our season cards on another loose promise of what might be. I think our signings so far look ok but we’re still light by 3/4 and I don’t see too much to get excited about. I like the fact the stadium has had a much needed paint job and reckon Duff will be a much, much, steadier pair of hands than the last 2 oafs but it needed (needs) more. Maybe it’s the hangover of last season, maybe it’s because we’ve had a summer of football but as it stands, I don’t have much appetite when it feels like the last season only ended a couple of weeks ago. And Sky will no doubt be ramping up the fact the new PL season kicks off in a week or so, as they do every year at this time, and even that has become dreary. There’s no competition and it’s tedious as a result. Sorry for putting such a downer on it, I will likely switch on at 5.30 tomorrow though just to see how we look.

After week one the bookies have dropped Towns title odds to 10/1, Brum stay on 2/1 (Can't rely on the ref to save them every week) & Bolton @5/1 (Rode luck at Orient today).....Rotherham's poor showing at Exeter sees them below us now @12/1 along with Charlton.

I fancy Brummies to lose both this week, Charlton away Tuesday (EFL Cup) & at Wycombe on Saturday is a 10/1 double......Even some bluenoses are calling them the Chelsea of League one after yesterday, lets hope so?

I went 3-6 and I'll stick with that at the moment, but it was a good marker we set with the first game.
Peterborough play a very gung-ho style and it's great we had a plan and executed it well, there will be plenty other different styles of play we need to deal with. Game at a time, 3 points and move on.

Likely due to Brummies sticking their life savings on promotion as opposed to the bookies true valuation.

The Brummies we 'rule the roost' approach has not bothered next weeks away opponents Leyton Orient too much with the request for extra tickets falling on deaf ears & Brum receiving 1200 like everyone else, although bigging themselves (Wrexham too) up has landed paying fans in the Cat AA price range (£32 Adults).....Town & Rotherham are in Cat A (£30 Adults) of the 3 categories (B=£25 Adults).

Current title odds (Skybet) have Town @6/1 now followed by Charlton @12/1, Brum @15/8 & Bolton 9/2 still top two favs......Town will be the lowest odds again next week in league one @4/9 for a home win.

If we're still fighting for a top 2 come Christmas then I think we'll have a good chance. By then we'll have been away to Peterborough, Rotherham, Bolton, Birmingham and Wrexham with them all having to come to us in the second half of the season.

Stockport County are at home to Bristol Rov (12-30), Charlton host Bolton & Crawley visit Wigan, how many will still be 100% winners at 5pm?......Stockport & Town for me, think the other two will drop points.

Auto Promotion would be fantastic and achievable but certainly play offs. Looking at previous points totals its all about winning games with the ocassional defeat. Draws are no good unless its against a challenger away from home.

Town are now clear 2nd favs @5/1 for the title (Brum 13/8) from 14/1 a few days before the season started, our next two league opponents Bolton drop to 11/2 & Rotherham now @33/1.
The trip to NYS sees Town at slight odds to lose against the Millers who desperately need a win to appease fans.....Perhaps having two teams attacking Town will make a pleasant change from trying to breakdown stubborn defences?

Couldn’t be happier with 4 wins from 4, starts don’t get much better, but it looks like the games at the end of September and beginning October will show where we truly are. Truthfully, I think we will struggle against teams that press us and have a bit more quality as we still lack so much composure on the ball.
