This poll all depends on if we bring in players that we need. Striker and Centre half, left side both with pace. Won't hold my breath though. 3rd to 6th should be nailed on but 1st or second would be our goal.

Then they were three, the 100% club teams are all away today & all slight favourites to win, Charlton visit Reading & Stockport are at Mansfield......Possibly only one will be on 12 points, don't ask which one.

We’re light a finisher. Gotta put teams to bed… I think we’ll struggle to do that as the season progresses.

The one thing you can be certain of is it’ll be a long old season, even more so if the Rotherham game is anything to go by. The decision to relieve Warnock of his duties has and will continue to come back and bite us on the arse time and time again.

We could look back at a series of poor decisions over the last 7 years to be honest. At somepoint we all need to move forward and not keep looking back. The truth is, and I've said this before, there's probably more to than we realise to turn things round. That might be an unpalatable truth but I think it is a truth.

Hopefully a comfortable mid-table finish. A stress-free end to the season.

We are where we are. An above average league 1 squad who may have enough to push for top 6.
None of the defficincies from last season have been addressed. We still cannot dominate a midfield and are slow and sit too deep at the back. This could be worse this year as the two new wbs want to push forward and can't defend.
We also have a losing mentality which to be fair duff has acknowledged and is presumably working on. This is because we have the same core group of players.
We also have a constant attrition of injured players to the squad which has been a theme for many years.
So we may get in the top six but several better teams squad wise around us

I thought one maybe could win today, Stockport drew & remain unbeaten but 100% club is now defunct for another season.....Bolton Wanderers are now desperate for a home win, lucky for them its the ever obliging Huddersfield Town next.

On last 4 performances (a lot of 1st teamers were on show at Brums 4th team)!!, I would go mid table, lack of scoring abilities will be the downfall.

Brum 11/10, Town 11/2, Bolton/Stockport 9/1, Wrexham 11/1, Charlton 18/1 & Barnsley 20/1 are the latest title odds on Skybet.......Top 3 could be Wrexham, Charlton & Barnsley next Saturday evening if they all win there home games while the rest of us take the weekend off.

Title odds are now Brum 1/2, Town 7/1, Wrexham 12/1, Stockport 18/1, Barnsley 20/1 & Bolton 22/1......We play 3 of those teams over the next four weeks so a lot could change. Bolton who we walloped 4-0 last week named the same 18 man squad this week & won 5-2, they said the Championship was unpredictable!

Feels like play offs at best sadly, I think genuine top two teams are more convincing than we've been. The results don't worry me too much but the performances collectively and individually have been really poor on the whole and that's against poor teams.

I never, ever thought we would be or are good enough for top 2. I’d even say play-offs were a bit of a stretch given our business in the summer window. Despite yet another manager, we’re still suffering from the same old malaise we’ve been suffering from for several seasons now. It’s just like Groundhog Day over and over again.

I'm not convinced Nagle was serious about an immediate return tbh . He seems to be doing the minimum he can get away with.
Saturdays defeat was a sobering moment though, and once again revealed the fragility of our squad. It's not the first time either, and we've lost 4 of our last 5 games...and not performed for 90 minutes in any game
My prediction was we'd finish below half way.. and I still think that.

The results don't worry me too much but the performances collectively and individually have been really poor on the whole and that's against poor teams. That simply ain’t true………the best teams get results when not playing well. We’ve won 4 out of 6 guys - let’s just calm down a bit eh? 2 points a game guarantees play offs and most likely automatic………..that’s where we are without being convincing. Duff has inherited an imbalanced squad used to losing - it will take months to fully turn around, and is likely to leave blood on the carpet as the ageing Hogg, ward, lees, Pearson etc are eased out to be replaced hopefully by younger better players. It doesn’t happen overnight - we’ve had pretty much 5 yrs of struggle in the last 6 due to underinvestment, crap recruitment and a general malaise around the place. The above said, sat was unacceptable and Duff will know he has to ensure no repetition because at this level the crowd won’t stand for it. Hopefully a decent win tonight will ease the tension a tad.

Let's see who can correctly predict (or get closest to) our final league position this season. The winner gets £1000 from Kevin Nagle (as long as someone can get in touch with him or Carmichael Dave to make sure he agrees.lol). I guess I'll have to start and say.....erm..... 8th... No 7th.... No I'll go with 8th. Yeah,my guess is 8th.

Huddersfield Town 5th... (Posted on August 9th @ 10.55am)... Oh me (not of little) but very much faith on here at DATM ! 😊

This was supposed to be a tricky period for the Brummies between international breaks, so far Wrexham & Rotherham were both tame against them & ended up with sweet FA as a result.
Today the unpredictable Posh visit St Andrews before our (unpredictable) lot visit on Tuesday to test the bookies theory that only one team will finish top with the rest all trying not finish runners up......Blues wobble & Town bounce back will set things up nicely for Tuesday, a 10/1 double.

According to Tranfermarkt the two most expensive L1 squads meet on Tuesday night, Birmingham are currently valued at 41.6M euros with Town estimated at 24.2M (£25 over last week).
The player who we had snatched from under our nose can no longer get in the Blues team, although May is valued at just 300k the same as Ward & less than all our other strikers (don't ask me how?).....Barnsley are 3rd on the list (14M), our expensive misfits (on recent performances) heading for two more defeats?

Not to alarm anyone but of the teams we've played so far, only one of them is in the top 10.
One of the sides we lost to that was their only win.

It's incredible how optimistic the responses on this poll were. It's almost as if people had chronic amnesia about last season.
Given that we had a car crash of a 2023/24 with only 9 wins, the sacking of Neil Warnock and two massively underwhelming managers.
How on God's did they think we'd be strong contenders for promotion. You don't turn things around that quickly. I'd just be pleased for us to be safe before the last match.

Birmingham seem to have turned things around pretty quickly MB, I hoped like most fans, Town could do the same , It's beginning to look as though Town will be nowhere near the top six.
