Easy to see where he trims that down; Mainoo, Wharton, Quansah, Trafford all won’t make it. Good players for the future though. I do feel he has sidelined Sterling too early. Class is permanent and Raheem has it in spades. Rather him in the squad than a Kalvin Phillips. Attack attack attack, we are going to be in Germany after all. 🫢 There are so so many players better than Sterling now. Actually really impressed with the decision Southgate has mad with this squad, looking forward to it now.

Mainoo will be included. The 7 to miss will more than likely be Trafford Braithwaite Wharton Quansah Jones 1 of Eze/Bowen 1 of Shaw/Colwill Am I missing summat? Colwill isn’t in the squad? I have no idea, I meant Konsa

Garth Crooks will be getting both sides of the bed for a month if Dunk is selected... How he is still a ‘pundit’ I’ve no idea. Way past his sell by date bt about 20 years. Agree re Tomori though, decent CB and really deserves more chances considering he’s established at a legendary club in a bloody tough league. Last time I saw him on tele he was as tall as he was round....re-inforced sofa to sit on and his eyes bulged out of his head like a hippos......and he was still spouting shite about building a team around Louis Dunk.....(his adopted love child) - absolute fat knacker as a pundit

No doubt Kalvin Phillips will be included Aged well.. Thank goodness! I'm delighted by the prospect of not having to watch that tit sucking the life out of the best midfield we've probably ever had.

I'm amazed neither Phillips nor Henderson are there, very pleasantly surprised.
The LB spot is the one that worries me most, not sure due to reasons for leaving others out how Shaw is there but I guess he's the only left footed LB in there. The thought of Gomez having to play anywhere gives me the shivers & how Tomori doesn't start in the first team, let alone not being in the squad is crazy, especially when you think Branthwaite & Quansah are included.
However, this squad could have been a lot worse.

Dunk against Belgium was fucking shite. Lukaku had him on toast for the second time in a few weeks. Liability in a tournament.

The third game in the group if we're already qualified and if we have to play a 3rd v 4th game. 2 games which no one gives a toss about.

Is Michael Olise eligible for England? Surprised he’s not been included if he is He is, he's played youth games for France but not played for the men's team yet and hasn't been called up for the euros for them this year either. Hoping we can persuade him in the near future. Olise was born in England to a Nigerian father and French-Algerian mother, and is eligible to represent France, Algeria, England or Nigeria internationally.

Why is Bellingham listed as a forward?
Should be playing with Rice in CM.

The only person I would have left out is Gareth Southgate. I would say that he seems to be able to run a good camp and keep the players happy, but is rubbish at tactics. We could keep him as training ground manager, as he either cant see when things turn against the team or has no idea what to do when they do.

I think the team picks itself esp if we’re going off this season’s form- Can’t find a spot for Palmer but he’s defo involved.
br] GK: Pickford RB: Walker Cb: Stones CB: Konsa LB: Shaw
CM: Rice CM: Mainoo CM: Bellingham
RW: Saka LW: Foden Str: Kane
Bench: Palmer, Eze, Watkins. Arnold,

He will start with those he trusts like always. I would start Palmer or Gordon over Grealish personally. Pickford Walker stones maguire Shaw Rice Bellingham Saka foden Grealish Kane Kane

Elite centre forwards - no. Konsa is a far better player and a big reason Villa finished 4th this year.

Would agree with Konsa, but I honestly can't see Southgate playing him over Maguire. Regardless of whether he should or not

Regardless of whether he should or not Macguire is ok if the play is in front him but as soon as there’s pace and movement he’s nowhere. Mind you John Stones wasn’t much better on Saturday. Both of these two will be replaced by Konsa, Guehi and Branthwaite coming through. I’d do it now but not Southgate style. The issue as always for England will be when they come up against a tier one side. That’s when we’ll be eliminated- either though inadequate defence against top play/striker.

We are lacking talent at the back. Those mentioned aren't that good to be the future of international football. Colwill possibly, but even now he hasn't been named in the squad.

Anyone got a logical reason as to why on earth he's taking Lewis Dunk over Branthwaite?!
