Have to agree. The last thing a pro footballer needs is a serious injury reaching for a ball against Emley. Friendlies are fitness sessions with an emphasis on shape. Theyre good for local clubs coffers and community spirit. 1657 the attendance yesterday, mainly Town fans as you would expect. Ticket sales along with beer and food probably put around £20k into Emley’s coffers, which for them is a huge boost. Appreciation of Town coming there was mentioned by their announcer a couple of times and hoped we could do it again in the future. With regard to the community spirit, the raffle raised £400+ which was donated to the local primary school and some other Emley local organisation but I can’t remember which one he said. Oh, and there was also a guy there who went against the community spirit and for the bantz obviously, turned up in his Leeds shirt 🤷♂️ Great post. Exactly what friendlies should be about imo.

Who didn’t play from first team? Hogg, Lees and Ruffels?
Sorry seen above - and High, Harratt and Hudlin.

Number 27 Omari Mrisho looked pretty rapid. Couldn’t find him on the website. I assume he’s a B team player but to my shame I’m not as well up on the youth players as I should be. Brought the ball out of defence for the 5th goal.

Told us in the pub after that Ward is rarely actually injured, just enjoys the pub, pool and darts too much.

I think it is pretty piss poor that qe haven't announced the Austria friendlies yet. Seems to be a real lack of quality opposition in what has been announced so far. Provisional dates TBC; Monday 22nd July ko @6pm & Sunday 28th July ko @2-30pm versus two local sides within 30 miles of Town's base in Bad Haring.........A couple of pub teams in Austria not Cornwall?

Good game .. Youngsters did well... Simpson wasn't great before he scored. Not a great scoring record in league one last season... Think he needs a league 2 loan Sorenson looks class Austerfield looks like he could bring something along with Jones. Maybe a sub role for both My team for the season would be Maxwell(sell Nichols) Spencer Balker Helik Sorenson Koroma Kasumu Buy/loan CM Thomas Healey Buy/loan striker Bench players Austerfield Jones Headley Ward Hogg Pearson Lees Radulovic Burton Mix of youth and experience I'd loan out Iorpenda L2 Harratt L2 not shown me much....bad egg. Last chance. Hudlin...conference Chapman L2 Simpson L2 Stones Conference Ayina L2/bottom L1 We're not playing 442

Open the fan zone & show both games (or maybe England only), they would possibly sell a few shirts & SC (if extended) on the day........Not to mention a few pints & pies, can't see it though 5 days maybe not enough time for Town/JSS to organise it!

I am concerned about the Austria trip friendlies, surely they should have confirmed matches by now? Not great if they are struggling to find decent opponents, hopefully it's a sign that we are waiting confirmation from decent teams.

It's going to be the Austrian equivalent of Bodmin Town This is my concern. I totally get why we have decided on friendlies that get progressively harder but if we don't know who we are playing in Austria now we might be stuck with some crap Austrian team, or even Bradford City. According to our schedule, with increasingly tougher pre-season matches, the games in Austria should be against good teams, there is, of course, a good chance they still will be but you've got to question why they cannot be announced yet.

I also think that it is disrespectful to the travelling support. Though we know where the team is based, not knowing where the games will be played, and on which dates, hinders planning.

In the same breath, why book something that you don't know the planning for? The club don't lose out on anything whether you go or not. If somebody has chosen to go, that's on them.

That's a pretty poor view on it to be honest. If you've got fans willing to take annual leave, spend cash and arrange their lives to support a team on the other side of Europe in a couple of meaningless games, the very least you should do is organise it correctly out of respect for them. If they didn't have a pre season game confirmed they shouldn't have announced Austria at all. It might not be the clubs fault that theres no fixtures yet confirmed and they may have been fucked around, but they can control what they communicate to the fans.

Subject to change, but... - Monday 22 July, 6pm local time - Sunday 28 July, 2.30pm local time Somewhere within 30mins of Bar Haring. Plus possibly one more. Do you really need more info at this stage?
