This weird obsession with wetting the bed reminds me of last season when anyone criticising the club's decision making was accused of it. Turns out they were right to be worried. Just saying. Mate, amongst those raising some concerns there's the usual folk that are all hyperbolic with their base level views. Tedious and creates division. It's a chuffing forum, people have different views to you. .just accept it and stop belittling them .

All he's doing is expressing his view which is precisely what you're saying other people should be allowed to do!

If he signs then we have too many strikers on our books Ward Radulovic Healey Harratt Simpson Hudlin Koroma sometimes Phillips to come back.
For me Simpson Harratt and Hudlin need to be sold or loaned. Alfie May would be a decent signing for league one. Not sure he has what's needed at championship level
But getting back there is the main issue.
If 800k gets you back into the championship then that's a great deal

It will either happen or it won’t I guess.we will have done the groundwork and seems lazy on the birmingham part.I know we complained about seemingly how things were done last year but we seem to have got our act together whereas they have not. You’d also think if they’ve hijacked this deal could they be doing/have done it to others. If that’s their way of doing things it’s something ourselves and other clubs will have to contend with. In terms of the player himself, again we will have done the groundwork,we will have been speaking to him and that has to count for something. That and the duff connection.Although if Birmingham are throwing round 3 x the wages(this is a complete guess) then that could also sway it.All in all I’d just hope it’s still sorted Monday/Tuesday as has been previously mentioned. We aren’t desperate for strikers by any means but it would definitely have been a welcome addition and probably somewhat of a statement of intent to the rest of the division to bring in last seasons top scorer. Fingers crossed,if not we move on. Luton seemed to follow a similar tactic, if so it helped them to get to the Premier League and be in a good position to have another go this time around. A lot has been said, mainly in hope, that we have a good transfer budget and we will be rebuilding our squad. What evidence do we have to support this, well so far one out one in and a little talk on twitter. Whatever we do or don't have as a transfer budget we seem to be a long way off Wagners approach where we seemed to have a name ready for every position and went after them all from day one to get them in as early as possible. I think that we would all be a little more positive if we had not lived through the years decline since our last promotion and the poor transfer windows since the new ownership took over. Let's hope there's a lot more happening than we can see.

However, otherwise, and has already been said, that's still me providing my opinion. Part of dialogue is listening to others and I tend to find those that prattle on about 'different opinions' don't do this, and are therefore actually the most disrespectful.

I think that we would all be a little more positive if we had not lived through the years decline since our last promotion and the poor transfer windows since the new ownership took over. Let's hope there's a lot more happening than we can see. They seem to be very good at keeping things quiet unlike before.I think there will be plenty going on.Also think they will have had targets for all the key positions too.As we don’t really seem to be in for many frees(miller been the exception so far) we couldn’t sign anyone until the window opened. That was only on the 14th of June,we had Sorensen in by(I think) the 18th or so.May bid was reported before that I believe(again off memory not checked) so we were on with it. Guess we don’t know what Charlton have been like to deal with, dragging it out suits them and has worked with Birmingham coming in late.We may(excuse the unintended pun)see more of that.Evans probably the next one on the list where by we get messed about a bit.You could argue if we just go in with what they want then it’s done and dusted but also clubs will be inflating prices knowing,or at least thinking we have a fair bit to go at.It’s frustrating. That said we’re only just over the two week mark and clearly we had identified and had bids in/had a deal done/another deal done on 4 players. Hopefully we can get evans and may over the line but I reckon it seems to be that we’re going to get pissed about quite a bit…as annoying as that is

May would be a cracking signing and reminds me of when we signed Jepson from Exeter. If it’s a straight fight between town and Birmingham then it is what it is. If true and his wife’s family are from Yorkshire and she’s moved back up here then that could be a massive influence for him and his family in choosing to come to town. Also he will probably get more game time at town as Duff knows what he’s getting from him and vice versa with May on Duff and how he will be played.
Personally I’m hoping he signs for town as our forward line would look very competitive and strong with him added to it. We’d just need the midfield sorting out with a creative player being brought in. If no one else leaves town which could happen then we’ve got one of the strongest squads probably to play in League One and that’s without bringing many players in.

Yeah bojan isn't a starter for me... Sooner have Ward. He can link play up better.

You can believe it or not, but the absolute priority for the club next season is automatic promotion, no ifs or buts, it’s a demand from Nagel, and that demand is backed up by a “ sizeable transfer budget” which is not constrained by having to sell, only added to .

Without a doubt we are able to match Brum, if Duff sees May as essential to his plans and any equivalent or better alternatives aren’t obtainable then it will be the players choice.

No i was at Emley today and he said nothing of the sort when asked he let out a little grin and laugh. Clearly he would never say anything like that to a fan.madness to suggest it.let’s hope players/especially ones we’re after see Birmingham for what they currently are,a little bit of a shambles behind the scenes and give them a wide berth. Whereas Town although finished the season in disarray are actually well setup and well funded for league one. An experienced squad with a smattering of talent. A manager who’s already had previous teams promoted & good club, fans, stadium and Analside.

Do you think the current retention of Helik, Sorba, Spencer, Baulker & Co is a statement of intent too from big Naggy? I may be wishful thinking but I think they’ve all been told they’re staying basically. Get the club promoted back to the champs. Do your jobs! (Said in a Roy Keane intensity)

Sell ward, harratt, hudlin etc...
May will be good as he is proven but don't forget we have Healey who looks like he will easy get 20 goals in this league if he gets the starts.
Bojan looks good too and offers something different to the other two.
Those three are more than strong enough for this league. One or two from the B team as backup and that's great.
MM gives us an out and out LW.
There's another CB that will complete the back.
Question is then about the midfield, which has a couple of potential good players (lorpenda etc). Hopefully wiles can do the business with a good preseason, he should be fantastic in this league if he gets back what he had.
but we do still need quite a bit more in there for this season, right across midfield and wings.

Good reply…although analside sounds like some sinister place 😂😂 Couldn’t resist that joke about how the sign used to read- the ‘C’ had fallen off. I think the other reason I use that phrase is because several posters thought I was a club mole when I came back to the forum last season! I was called a fraud lol. One of the reasons given was because I referred to the training complex as Milllers Oils… while I’d actually just used it because I’d been there through a schools/HTFC foundation day event. - not cos I’m a club mole paid to go on the club forum to manage the fans. 😆

Just something to point out Neil Moxley, who is reporting that Huddersfield are in the driving seat for May. Was also the only source claiming peacock farrell was off to blues.
