Couple of articles online said we'd gone back in with a £1.2m bid for May. God knows how true that is, but it's a fair whack for League One prices. Make them an offer they can’t refuse? There is always the horses head in the bed as a last resort. 😉

Let's hope another club doesn't come in and pull the rug from under us with this potential signing. Its happened plenty of times before so if this is the player that Duff wants, then get it done.

From the Charlton forum Huddersfield being pushy over Alfie. They won't the deal done and dusted. Been told by us to hold their horses. He's going nowhere until our targets are across the line. Duff is desperate to sign him but we'll only do so when we are ready.
Looks like they trying to get in Ahadme as replacement

Don't read anything into that pal, the quotes you get on there are from pretend pundits, in the main it's bullshit In't Gag'N'Boneman the FLW Hudderfield Town fan pundit? I am. They send me questions asking what I think about this or that, I send my opinions, they write them up. Nothing "pretend" about it.

Heard it’s a done deal a few calling it on the other thread.
Unsure though.

I kept seeing transfer rumours on Twitter that Charlton were linked with so many players. I thought maybe they are just waiting to get those deals done before they announce have got a fee for May. Suppose it’s same reason clubs keep fees undisclosed

From the Charlton ITK "I'm afraid I have the same news. Looks like he's gone.
For all the fans who are going to kick off about this I suggest you consider this. Alfie could have said no and stayed and fought for his place."

You can see why it may not have been a hard sell for him.

Hopefully a good omen and highlights the fact it's not a bad price for the leagues golden boot winner in his prime, despite the fact he'll be 37 next month.

Wasn't he our record signing for AGES - possibly right up until Schindler*, which was probably less if you adjust it for inflation. Apart from those mad years in the Prem, I've never really known us spend seven-figure sums. *Worth every penny, and then some

I’ve heard the delay in the announcement is due to him being busy finalising his 40th birthday party arrangements !

To be fair having seen that video at the end of Charltons season, if we don’t announce him with a video of him running out the tunnel and falling over we have missed a trick. Mind you knowing us he would snap his leg on the first take
