I feel sorry for the fans of whichever club side decide to give him a chance.
I can't believe people are worried about finding a replacement for a manager who has just struggled to beat Serbia, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia and Switzerland with a fantastic squad of players. But for a bit of magic from Bellingham he was deserving of the same ridicule Roy and G Nev got for the Iceland defeat

Why do Town fans who phone up Talksport always embarrass us. Somebody called Sharky just called up the Sports bar and suggested Warnock for the England job. Some clown from Ireland also suggested David Moyes.
Are there really people who are that stupid out there ?

What about a 3 man team of, Keane, Neville and Wright. They seem to have all the answers. Pugatch as a water boy. Seen so many people say this this tournament... its bizarre. their job is to give their opinions. Shall we not have pundits unless they are proven managers? Neville openly admits to being a poor manager, it doesnt mean he cant be right about things he sees |

Super Frank is now attracting interest @6/1 currently, it does appear the majority of the press favour Eddie Howe & even Shearer thinks its his if he wants it.......Although Newcastle have a large England following the fans are reluctant to see him leave, so Stevie G & Frank may get interviewed? |

I just hope that anyone who gets the job immediately jettisons Kean and Walker and anyone else who won't be around for the next World Cup.
Our youngsters' getting experience is more important than the old folk boosting their goals/caps tallies.

Has anyone mentioned Rob Edwards? Think he was involved in the England youth set up before he started at FGR. Got them promoted to L1, failed at Watford (if that’s possible), got Luton to the PL before being relegated after a decent effort.

Last 3 tournaments we have had a relatively easy way through to the finals or semis. Spanish beat Italians, Germans, Croatians, the French and finally English. We beat a under par Dutch side. Southgate has being great at uniting to the squad. But always falls short against a decent side The only decent team Italy beat in 90 minutes to get to Euro 2020 final was Belgium. The only decent team Argentina beat in 90 minutes to get to the 2022 World Cup final was Croatia. You can look at many teams routes to the finals and find easy routes. Southgate is always going to divide opinion. I personally think now is the right time for him to move on. I don’t think we should underestimate the passion he has brought back to supporting England. Not the players, Southgate. We’ve always had good players. Some managers have drained the life out of me. From 2003 up to Southgate England were crap, really crap, with decent players. I don't recall mentioning beating teams in normal time. Maybe someone else did. My point was he was very lucky to get the draws he did. In the past we have lost to Brazil, Argentina, France in the last 16 or quarters of major tournaments. And they were bloody good sides in them days when we faced them. I have no doubt if we had to face Austria, Germany, Spain or France in the last 16, we would have been knocked out earlier on. |

We also beat Switzerland who were a very good side..at least as good as Germany and a damned site better than Italy. And id fancy Slovakia to beat Croatia at the moment. We lost to Spain, the best side in the tournament, by a goal that was about 1 centimetre onside. You are correct. The Switzerland side were very good tbf. I would rate them higher than the Dutch team tbh. |

Ange Postecoglou told reporters last night he had 'no idea what your talking about' when asked about any approach by the FA he then added 'I'm Tottenham manager & that's where I stand'......Will the FA try to poach a premier league manager? Or will their ethics get in the way & steer away from any confrontation.

I keep reading and hearing about this fantastic squad of players. We have some good forward players. However our defenders are bang average in an international context. If you were to list the all time top 20 England defenders none would get picked, in my opinion. Maybe Southgate's tactics were necessary to protect the back 3 or 4?
You may have seen the most successful England men's team since 1966. Time will tell I know, but if the next manager can match Southgate's last 4 tournaments record in the next 4 then that would be exceptional.

Teams don't seem to be built on strong defences anymore, it was something we grew up with a few years back & defenders were talked about as much as any attacker ie Moore, Beckenbauer (won Ballon d'or twice)........All attack & no defence in the playgrounds these days. |

Wouldn’t be adverse to him getting it for a brief period if we’re waiting on the best person being available. Saw a clip of some of the goals his u21 team scored and they played really good football - the sort we’ve been crying out for England to play.

Catalonian can’t see pep ever being interested in the Spanish job, but he apparently has quoted interest in one day a World Cup campaign as a manager so who knows. |

Howe asking questions of the top brass at Newcastle if he will get full backing. If they are not sure he will take them to the next level it might be a smart move for them to let him go to the England job (I'd suggested Howe would have the England job one day years ago during his first spell at Bournemouth though now at this moment I'd prefer Klopp) and they look for someone with experience at top level European competition football.

I personally don't think you should even be allowed a foreign coach.
I appreciate why 'developing' countries used to, but reckon it should now be a blanket ban, with manager's having to meet the same residency/nationality criteria as players.
