My sister would be fkd, she was born In Germany but is 100% British 😂 I was born in Huddersfield mosh but I've an Italian passport. ldr come on get real people can support whoever they like but they can't just assume whatever national identity they like even in the EU. I don't know what Maoist China (Mao is dead incidentally) or the date as to do with anything but that's your bag. I didn't say only people born in Huddersfield can support Town, you did. The prawn sandwich fan or the glory hunter can support multiple teams if they wish, it was you though who changed the argument to its OK to have multiple national or sporting allegiances. I was talking about the fact it's crass and hypocritical to take the Kings shilling but refuse to sing the national anthem. I think you will find most people who work for a living don't like some aspect of their job but they don't throw their toys out the pram they get on with it or they get sacked. OK, I’ll bow out of this one in the face of such a compelling argument. I’m defeated and dejected in the face of such humiliation. 😜 God save our gracious king! 🇮🇪

I've been getting a bit lost on this as well, i cant see anywhere anyone mentioning 'fake irish patriotism' until the poster did and I'm wondering what brought this on, has Carsley been spotted singing irish rebel songs somewhere, as far as i'm aware he didn't sing Amhrán na bhFiann when he represented Ireland either but then again he probably didn't know it. Apparently ldr like the Irish does know what fake Irish patriotism means, something to do with a plastic paddy. As for your guy Carsley and the Amhrán na bhFiann, you mean he is lined up with the Irish squad but doesn't know they're singing the Irish national anthem. I get some don't like the national anthem, I don't but it is what it is . Here's the thing though they like the money so grow up shut up and sing the bloody thing. The paragraph in bold italics is by the poster katiemterrier27 and definitely not me.

I think both national anthems are awful but then monarchy or republic makes no difference to me but either way there is going to be an anthem. Don't be a BS hypocrite who wears the shirt takes the money but wont sing the stupid song. Songs and politics are full of BS ask any pensioner freezing to death this winter.
I absolve peraruda from the bold italics.

How do you think the Greeks felt about winning the Euros in 2004? Do you think they were bothered that their manager was German?

How do you think the Greeks felt about winning the Euros in 2004? Do you think they were bothered that their manager was German? Very good point. Otto Rehhagel is an absolute hero in Greece. England may have got lucky with this new manager, we'll just have to wait and see. And no, he should not sing the national anthem as it's got sod all to do with him.
