He's right. If you don't believe me, look at the league table. We're joint bottom of the league and we haven't got a single point yet! The only reason we're not rock bottom is because H comes before W in the alphabet! We haven't even had a shot on goal yet. It's disgusting! Last time I looked we were 11th, I was quite pleased with that.

The academy idea is a huge money pit imo and comes from naivety. I don't see it working out, I do see it being very expensive. Been there, tried it, didn't work. Has any club our size made it work? Crewe continue to excel...one interesting stat is that in the 2020/21 season only 10 clubs were responsible for the development of more players in the top 4 divisions than Crewe...ie, lads coming through their system are more likely to have a career in football than those coming through lots of Premier League clubs Academy's. Reading and Charlton stand out as well...arguably similar clubs to ours...and I know there's an element of looking back here, but you sort of have to do if you want to bring the focus forwards and see what players have gone on to success, but I guess we aspire to be like Sheff Utd...someone has to mould the next Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire or Aaron Ramsdale into the start of their football journey, and there's no reason it can't be Huddersfield Town. That's four from 92 clubs and Sheffield United for example, has the success they've had gone any way to paying for the academy? Has it contributed to the clubs recent success? I've no idea btw but assumed it was the money chucked in by the owners which has resulted in their recent success not the fact they produced a few quality players.

I've no idea btw but assumed it was the money chucked in by the owners which has resulted in their recent success not the fact they produced a few quality players. I'm answering your question, "has any club of our size made it work" by giving 4 examples. I would add that there's probably 20-30 clubs realistically considered "our size", not 92... So even without digging (which I have zero inclination to do!), there's something like 15-20% of clubs "of our size" whose Academy's are not just 'making it work', but are truly excelling, the implication assuming they are not massive outliers is 50%+ of Academies do probably "work". Crewe are obviously 'smaller' than Town, but they're always forefront of my mind when thinking Academy's, could easily have cited Bolton as another club of our size who has an Academy that gets results in terms of creating footballers.

If I’m being honest, he’s more of a pancake guy Our pancakes are very different to the US 🥞 and we don't generally cover them in maple syrup. I personally prefer a savoury rather than sweet pancake.

Prefer a crepe to a waffle to be honest you simply cannot beat a good crepe. For me they come in two varieties 1. Sugary, moist, flat areas of total heaven topped with whatever takes your fancy.....highly recommend Curvoisier. Smell and taste delicious ! or 2. That moment of bliss when your buttocks part and you enjoy the immense feeling of your sphincter opening as yesterdays vittels depart your body. Can also provide memory making smells and much entertainment as you play "make the floater disappear" or "Wipe the stain from underneath the rim" or 3. Eat a pack of dry roasted nuts - have above shit - you will be surprised how it resemble peanut butter.......another delicacy that is often put on crepes

No clue mate, it's been a while since we've spent Shrove Tuesday at our parents' house, but I think it must have been at least a couple. Used to feed four of us, although obviously it was packed full of mushroom, onion and bacon too. Making me yearn for some now

What about actual waffles. Do you guys do waffles here? Butter, syrup, etc? Not really, they were a thing for a while in the 80’s, there was a chain of roadside restaurants called Little Chef where you’d get them. Only waffles which are relatively common place are frozen potato ones 😝

Fed five of us over a couple of days.

I think he means actual Waffles, not the potato based pre-teens thing that is one step up from a McCains Smile face. YES...we do Waffles, they sell them in shops 🤷♂️ also Stroopwafels are available pretty much everywhere and are awesome having just been slightly warmed by sitting as the lid on a cup of steaming coffee for a minute.

I'm confused why you're comparing Waffles typically available in the USA to Birds Eye Potato Waffles when you could compare them to American style Waffles that we can buy in all the supermarkets?! (although Belgian Waffles are the best) I had a Waffle iron but it took ages to do a shirt and they were left with a strange pattern.

Your first line I've never noticed the American style waffled in Morrisons where I do my shop, although tbh I've never actually been on the lookout for them. Think I'll have to give them a go if they're completely different to them potato ones that I swiftly got sick of as a kid. Last line:
