Just watching the highlights, and im not sure what the ref was doing for their sending off. He didnt seem to want to even give the free kick then seemed to be trying hard to find an excuse not to give a second yellow. It was a straight red, last man outside the area. It was so clear cut, the state of the game/scoreline in a competitive game doesnt matter.

I know mate, you clearly know your stuff. It’s really good money you know. You're clearly a pillock. I take that back, you don’t know your stuff.

That’s quite funny. A bit of a quiz for you - name me the scorer of the last 3 hat tricks for town? What's the prize? A quarter of Sherbert Lemons.

Can’t fathom why Ward wasn’t given a pen when he was hauled backwards in the six yard box, second half, with an almost WWE move.

Yeah, the guy looked like he was auditioning for Brokeback Mountain or Eyes Wide Shut the way he was grappling with Wardnock

Just watched the highlights and Danny Ward looks to have taken young Marshall under his wing. They looked to have a real togetherness after their two goals. Marshall's pass for Ward's goal was excellent, it was still a difficult chance for Ward but his positioning and Marshall seeing the pass was the first time I have seen two Town strikers playing off each other like that for a long, long time. Also Marshall's persistence winning the ball back before his run and pass, plus his calm finish for his goal. Great to see. Wonder what tips Marshall will pass onto Ward to improve his game then ? - back to basics - 1) Dont run around a lot and appear to be doing a lot when in fact you are doing fuck all 2) Pass me the ball and I will score as you will miss 3) Concentrate on your handicap and leave me a place in the team to score a hatful of goals and 4) Ask the gaffer for a season loan move ....it will do you a world of confidence - St Andrews FC might be a good option.....(for obvious reasons)

Good performance last night against a limited side. I really hope we don’t have to rely on Ward, Koroma and Harratt too much this season though. Yes limited is being generous, mate was telling me six weeks bafore the season started they didnt have any players (due to financial problems), signed sixteen players basically all at once, a couple playing last night were at Halifax last season.

Nor when he was fouled while shooting in the first half, when the defender took his standing leg as he was striking the ball (wide).

What a combination they made. It could do them both the world of good.

Absolute blatant penalty, the linesman on the opposite side had a perfect view and did nothing.

Great result - Was down with a dicky stomach and had so much of The Trotters for 48 hours that I’d actually thought I’d been reincarnated as a fcukin Bolton Wanderers fan ! ☹️
So this fair cheered me up no end for sure... 😊
Needless to say - But for once I didn’t celebrate a win with a booze cruise ! 😬

Chesterfield were 3-1 up with only a few to play, before Jon Stead won a penalty (Wells scored) and then the keeper let a soft Stead shot through his body. The keeper, having spent the entire second half time wasting, got a hero’s welcome when he returned to his post in front of the Town fans in the second half of extra-time, with Town then leading 5-3 thanks to Lolley and Wells’ hat-trick goal.
