Crap performance and on balance, probably deserved to lose. Draw that the very best.
We went a goal up due to the Ward incident so we fortunate, the penalty was the worst decision I have seen in a long time.
We deserved to lose when we took off our last striker and replaced when with another defender.

Diabolical performance that. Bar Korma and Hogg not much else to say. Outfought by Rotherham... jeez

Robbed of a point which we were good for with how well we defended. Still need much more going forward and Zak Abbott will probably have to start on Tuesday

Fair play to the supporters who paid to witness that…
Come on Town, 4 games in, 9 points to build on, make it bloody count when you next get out on the pitch.
Something amiss at the moment, we might as well revert to route one as we don’t seem capable of playing intricate football for anything more than a couple of 30 second patches in each game.

God what a frustrating game. I thought we were just getting on top towards the end of the first half and starting to play the ball around nicely, but we came out and were right under the cosh from the start of the second. And it's when you're under the cosh that crazy decisions get made, or the referee makes them for you.
The red card changed things. A poor challenge by Danny Ward, which I thought was ultimately a soft red, but you can't keep giving poor referees decisions to make. I honestly don't know what he was thinking. He should be losing a few week's wages for that.
Then there's no legislating for the penalty decision. Their player didn't have the ball, stuck a leg into the back of Sorrenson, and fell over. Absolutely crazy refereeing.
But it's yet another poor performance. It feels like some players are consistently panicking in possession, we look so uncomfortable on the ball in midfield particularly. I don't think the subs helped things either as we were looking ok despite going down to 10. After that there was zero goal threat and we were just inviting pressure on which ultimately told.

The club is simply at its natural level now
Owner doesn’t appear to want to make a serious investment, what’s the net spend this summer ?
See what happens to attendances if they go on a losing run
All that early season positivity ruined by a negligent decision not to bring in a proven striker at this level. Wonder if the striker decision has affected the players, wouldn’t surprise me.
What were helik and Nichols told about investment

Koroma & Nichols aside who I thought played well.
The rest including the manager were as weak as fuck. Lost so many battles. Odd tactics. No press. Hoof ball to two tiny strikers.
Ward like Pearson on Tuesday gave the ref a reason to send him off. Both should know better.
Sorensen was weak for the penalty. Rule one clear the ball first. His worst game for us by a long one.
Nagle must wish he had kept his mouth shut on twitter now that we only have 2 available strikers.
Can see hodge playing in place of Evans. Some of Hogg’s passing was again truly awful. His legs have gone. Kane needs to get fit soon.
Last rant. Nagle quoted they have brought in loads of firepower. I didn’t see any.

It's alright Duff and the keeper coach having a go at the ref and getting sent off, we were shit and didn't deserve anything. He wants to focus that energy on the likes of Hogg who couldn't close his man down for their goal, or the countless times we gave the ball away trying to pass it 5 yards.
Really poor today, I'm fuming with our own performance rather than the ref. Thank fuck we've got an international break bar that daft game in Donny.

From a performance perspective we were poor, teams have found us out very quickly just simply don’t allow our wing backs to get forward. Our starting midfield is utterly anonymous which is the main reason we can’t control or dictate games despite clearly having a better squad. Hodge simply has to play instead of Hogg in that role moving forward. Danny Ward with a completely stupid decision but there’s no way it was a red, similarly it is clearly not a penalty but unfortunately at this level you have very gullible referees who aren’t intelligent enough to understand gamesmanship in football.
A very poor week where we’ve lost 2 games despite being winning with 25 mins to go. We should have enough about us to have kept Rotherham out for 30 mins but again we look so fragile at the back. Big wake up call and I think a week off in the league to regroup is very welcome.

Rotherham deserved the win. They bullied us from start to finish and we didn’t stand up to it. Thought our midfield was really poor, Hogg awful for their winner, Wiles and Evans didn’t get involved anywhere near enough. Not sure why Duff didn’t change it earlier, we were clearly struggling and we needed to change from a 3-5-2. 2 weeks to work with them now and come up with something better next week.

I'm sorry buy this squad is not good enough for promotion. Terrible depth and Evans is utterly crap. We desperately need Kane back.

That game is petering out until the intervention of a quite frankly atrocious referee. We were poor, but were holding Rotherham at arm's length and fairly comfortable. The sending off is a disgrace all round. The defender dived. No contact and rolling around - presumably under instruction from his odious fat bastard criminal overlord. The linesman can see there's no contact. He can see it clearly. He can see that there's no elbow. So what he's doing fuck only knows. Ref cannot wait to produce a red card for the drama, presumably. The spotlight falling on him. Wow! More attention than he's had in years! People criticising Ward: fuck off. He's challenged for a ball he's perfectly entitled to go for without doing anything wrong. No elbows, no flying in with force, just jumps for a ball he can go for. A player is not responsible for a referee being stupid. Equally, if his opponent dives and fakes injury like that, then what can a player do? Not challenge them? Some would say yes, but you should be able to trust the officials to not make that kind of error and play into the hands of the cheat.
Penalty is beyond soft. How he can give that when, in the first half, he saw Marshall being yanked over by an arm is incredible. So we go a perfectly good goal up and within 30 seconds they've got level through another shit decision against us. Consider last season when Kasumu was wiped out and got booked for diving. They dive, and get a penalty. It isn't on. It is consistent.
Quite what our physio was sent off for, I don't know. Presumably the ref liked his card so much he wanted an excuse to get it out again so decided being on our bench was enough.
For the Rotherham winner, Hogg has to do better. He has to win the ball. But people slamming Duff for his choices: what could he do? Koroma's knackered and needs to come off. We're a man light through ineptitude and cheating, and nothing to do with us, so we're outnumbered. We go ahead and within seconds the ref has pegged us back. What's he meant to do about any of that? 11 v 11 we've got them at arm's length, playing poorly on the ball, and so he makes changes to bring Hodge on. Hodge did well, not just with the goal, but pressing higher up. The instant we're down to 10, we can't press.
I am sick of officials. We never get decisions. Three penalties against us and two reds already this season. Towards the end of last season, numerous penalties and reds for nothing. We never get those. We don't get fair treatment: if we did, we're getting at least a point this afternoon because Rotherham had run out of ideas. As it is, we've got nothing not just because of one decision, but because of two utter shockers directly coming from simulation.

They were 2 pathetic decisions which have gone against us, along with 3 incredibly soft penalties so far. I got it wrong earlier. We've now conceded more penalties this month that we have been awarded in 2 and a half years.

Nothing to do with strikers. Piss poor defending Exactly my point The defending becomes key when you have one shot on target and hardly a touch in the opposition box?? Hence the striker(s) are very important. Rotherhams managed to keep the ball in our half and around our box pretty well. Its not about a player scoring, its about keeping the ball in areas you can score from. Apart from Koroma, playing on his own, we didnt do it at all. Ward gives himself a few weeks off?? Not a red but a stupid challenge whatever, clever, REAL striker tries to intercept the difficult defensive header, Ward isnt that, just chucks himself late at the defender. 2 million Wiles, affects nothing much in another game. Evans throws himself into challenges he cant win and then does nothing much, again. The support saw it coming, some out of hope, told us it wasnt and that being grateful for 'just enough' was our lot... Fuck off, that was at very very best, just enough and it fails. We missed the chance to play up to our top 3 billing via recruitment, what we actually have isnt top 3, nowhere near in this, the third division.

Well, we did that to ourselves.
Wards red The penalty
Yes both soft decisions, but Ward should have done better, Sorensen did have a handful of shirt.
Hoggs terrible challenge (even if you could call it that) for their goal.
Being in a position where we take off Koroma, and not have any strikers available to us.
Bit of a wake up call really.

Duff lost us that game with his crazy decision to take our best defender off and not replace Koroma with Healey. Despite playing shit we were still in with a chance up to that point. To have Ben Wiles, the second slowest player on the pitch after Hogg, as your one man up front was criminal.

No point blaming referees.
It’s blatantly obvious by every game we’ve played this season that we play well for the first half and then second half we just shut down, go onto autopilot.
Rotherham wanted it more
If that was first performance of the season I’d be worried but duff should be wise to the fact we just don’t play football in the second 45 mins 🤒
