Never won the league but are the club that’s been in the top flight the longest without winning it - 73 years.

Bolton, similar ground, similar sized club, played them many times upand down the league, strangely I can't remember anything memorable apart from regular floodlight climbing. The FA cup game mid 70s was a bit tasty but I didn't go. We beat them 4-0 at home in 1990 just 4 days after they'd beaten us 5-1 on aggregate in whatever the League Cup was called at the time. Jacko's debut and a Keith Edwards hat-trick, I think. A 4-1 win at home in September 2015 after being a goal down, under Chris Powell, (which can't be right, because we were terrible in every match he managed). Nothing much else, apart from Stevie's late winner at Burnden Park in 1968. The only thing I recall about the cup game was the remarkable crowd at a 4th division ground (27,896 from memory, but might not be bang on). Today's game is the 104th against them. Birmingham must be the most with 121. Spot on mate it was Jacko's debut and Keith Edwards did score a hat trick, out of the first 5 fixtures that season 3 were against Bolton. Can you remember who scored the other goal? Incidentally, this is the clubs worst start to a season I think, unless we've had a worse one since. The last 4 meetings have all been won by Town.

Having said that we’re on a roll and have won the last four against them ! 👍

End to end,could easily have been 7-6,Nico Vaesen made some unbelievable saves as well.

It was a huge crowd & I only saw the terrace so full (from open end) against Lids & Man Utd prior, the Sept 2015 game I had a dilemma of my mates wedding or our lasses nieces wedding........Not wanting to upset them one or t'other I plumbed for the Town match (thankfully), why do people insist on getting married during the football season.

Had a look at Brunden Park pics there for nostalgic reasons (Irish TV and Match of the Day and The Big Match) which were the only footy channels available to me when I started out with Town back in 1980 and it seems truly one of the classic old style grounds (four big floodlights, advertising on apex roofs, traditional old style goal nets, a major train line running so close it could nearly touch the ground etc)...
I was gonna screenshot some and put them up here for the slightly older HTAFC supporting stalwarts to reminisce about but now when I hold the pic as I used to it won’t let me do it and doesn’t offer ‘save image’ option no more... ☹️ 😢 💔
Any DATM technology savvy boffin that can offer advice about screenshots of pics that can be saved to photos would be greatly appreciated indeed...
All I can say is thank goodness that I’ve got ma 200 or so ones of Leeds Road saved and also printed out on A4 rigid paper !

It was a good old ground Burnden but they ruined it putting seats on the terrace behind one goal and building a supermarket behind the other, leaving a wedge in the corner for away fans. I remember yellow paint demarcation next to the supermarket telling you not to stand or you couldn't see the near goal for the side of building.

Like yourselves we’ve been through good and bad times and to be honest neither of us should be at this level and hopefully we won’t be next year?

Lets hope Duff has the balls to drop Hogg today. Try and get something going in the middle of the park. Then we just need a referee not to send someone off or give a penalty against us, and maybe if all that happens, we can win

Got a feeling this is a bit of a bellweather game for Town. Win today, play offs, draw miss out on play offs, lose and it's mid table mediocrity..

Can’t really explain why - possibly The (rancid international break in my opinion) gives a chance for Duff and the players to stop the rot (three defeats the cup two were poor)...
Jumping out at me was a 3-2 win but with few jugs in me mow I’m gonna go plumpt for...
PREDICTION = Bolton Wanderers 1 v Huddersfield Town 2 👍
