I think Hogg is more important to this team than some fans realise. ] Here, here. 5ft 7, eyes of blue Johnathon Lee Hogg is after you, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah. Sorry but the Billy Bonds chant of similar wording was a lot more appropriate. Partly because it rhymed better.

I think Hogg is more important to this team than some fans realise. He’s been a constant part of a team that has played continuous awful football over the last few years. He really isn’t. The points we get with him in the team have been significantly higher than the points we get without. Something like 0.3 ppl higher with him in the side. At one point we went something like 2 years without winning when he wasn’t playing - a run ended in November 2021. He’s coming to the end and he’s not the force he was. I think it’s time to move on. But in many poor Town sides he has been a player who made us better. Not to say I want him starting tomorrow - time for someone else to play. Hodge for me. But his efforts in a Town shirt don’t deserve the endless dectraction that they get.

Where abouts are you Metch? I'm always over May/June so missed being at the last two play off finals. I've been quite prepared to fly back for a couple of days, but I never fancied the journey back to Spain if we'd lost. After the Schindler wonder pen I went down to one of the main areas for bars/restaurants in my Town t-shirt but didn't come across any fellow terriers. In a place called Sitio de Calahonda between Fuengirola and Marbella, I've been here two years but I haven't met a Town fan yet, plenty of Leeds fans though. Where are you? But currently at my Dad's in Brighouse! Costa Blanca so a fair distance away unfortunately.

Like a stopped clock they'll eventually be correct! And yet every manager, every single manager, who has had the option to drop Hogg has made the conscious decision to play him as their first choice. Every. Single. One. One day his time will come, it MIGHT be coming soon, but make no mistake, the people who actually have to put their jobs on the line, the professionals who are paid for their skills and knowledge unreservedly put it all on The General.

He has many many qualities.Professionalism and influence been two very big ones and why in struggling championship sides he’ll have been one of the first names on the team sheet, because those are the types of characters you need in those situations.Under Wagner in a different formation he served his purpose well, organise, break up play, follow instructions,be aggressive…and then give the ball to one of the best midfielders we’ve ever had.Under Carlos he was often used similarly or dropped into a back 3. There will be games this season where he will be massively important to us,I just don’t believe today is one of them.or games like today where realistically we’ll have(or should have) practically all of the ball. Those are not games where his big attributes are needed. Also leaving him out of those types of games keeps him fresh and maybe prevents the niggly injuries he’s picked up in the recent seasons where we’ve needed him to play every minute because he could be trusted.

Since we last played at home we have signed L0nwijk, Hodge and Ladapo. A defender, a midfield player and a striker so we must we a much stronger team that we were last time at home Other players are back from injury or near.I'm not going for this thrashing talk but I do feel we have more than enough to win. Going 2 0.

Lees, Helik, lonwijk, Pearson & Spencer
Midfield
any three from Five..
Hogg, Hodge, Wiles, Evans, Kane and maybe even kasumu....
Strikers any 2 from 4
Koroma, Marshal, Lapado, bojan..
Duff has lots of options and decisions to make today...
Nicholls
Sorenson Lees Helik Lonwijk Headley
Wiles Hogg Evans
Koroma Lapado
I think he will go with this 11....but im never right...

I am in Washington DC today and thought I would be able to buy a video pass to watch the game. The Town site says they are unavailable in this region. Is there a stream I could use?

Now I’m beginning to sound like a broken record but Hogg against Northampton at home just seems like overkill.

Pretty sure every single player on that bench would have been nailed on for a start last season - shows how weak our squad was last season

After the great result at Bolton, I expect Town to do what they do best and make hard work of this game.
Teams coming here will set up to not concede, so I reckon a low win or even a bore draw.
