Career saving win for Duff?

Hopefully be the start of something much better but only ONE conclusion is acceptable promotion. Settling for less will not do especially as Mr Nagle is buying the stadium and I assume spending a small fortune on the team.
Mediocrity is ok for that's entertainment prawn sandwich brigade but real fans want to see graft and passion not excuses from anybody.

A shout out to the fans in the south stand. I got pelted with what I think was only Coke a cola but glass bottles and flares were being thrown. Disgusting behaviour from the dingles. Hope everyone went home unscathed UTFT

Shows what I know... Wiles has been excellent He was last season in the game against Wendies, needs to be more consistent & not just save himself for the South Yorkie lot.......Pity about Spencer fifth yellow, otherwise UTT.

Decent.
Took too long to score, but can't grumble as we got the job done.
I thought Barnsley were poor.
Pearson MOM for me.
Need to hope the injury to Hodge isn't too serious, as he looks a really good player...
Good win to take into the international break...

Would give that 11 a run of games now, that back 3 and hodge kasumu in front of them especially.

Duff and us fans learnt a lot today I reckon. My 2pence fwiw
Chapman has promise. Some fine kicks that actually found men.
Miller is excellent at this level. Fight & determination. Exactly what was needed today. Helped set the tone. Is he in the senior leadership group - he should be based on how he plays.
League one in general plays to Pearson’s strengths. He is worthy of a run in the side. Excellent attitude today. - Just keep passing it to..
Spencer - that’s his position & he MUST make himself available for the ball from Pearson, because he’s a good footballer & he started countless attacks today with..
Sorensen - Looked like he could’ve been the best wing back of league one last year again today but so much credit to Spencer - how he took it forward and used Lasse was excellent. This lad looks a big confidence player to me.. if we start havung more attacking possesion we’ll see the best of him.
Nigel: Solid performance and can get better
Kasumu: needs to be told that’s your position now for the season. Super performance full of confidence - exactly what was needed. That’s as well as I’ve seen him use the ball I think and his running and tackling was typically strong. Top lad is David. I hope he gets an injury free run in this side in this position.
Wiles. This lad is still an enigma. Is he asthmatic? Why is he always seemingly gasping for breath? Is it just me that sees that. Maybe it’s just how he is. The fact is he has genuine quality in his boots. He delivered quality, well thought out crosses, passes and well he has goals in him.. around the edge of the box he’s extremely capable. How long has it been since we had a goal scoring midfielder. That was a goal of the season contender due to the move imo. Fitness & self belief come hand in hand imo.
Hodge: I like this signing. Hes small but mobile. He reads play well and he’s a positive player who wants to get onto the front foot. Could be a key player in an attacking side..
Marshall: a professional hard working performance.
Radu: Deserves a chance. Can he stay fit and get used the physicality because there’s a player in there I think.
Ladapo: I couldn’t actually believe my eyes with his little Cameo. Showed some superb touches the goal but in and around link up, won headers.. clearly wasn’t/isn’t still match fit but if that’s him getting match fit then we’ve got a chance with him. Looked a threat. Added something.
As did..
Herbie Kane: lovely touch skill and balance for the goal and he just looked a very good footballer in his small cameo..
Can we please try and keep these players, injury free, training and playing together consistently for a few games now because this is still league one.. We ain’t playing top championship sides every week.. who even is it up next Brizzle Rovers- at home.. same performance should lead to same result.
I reckon Duff will be buzzing after that showing and hopefully we can kick on now.. none of us want to be depressed by Town. Carry on playing like that and let’s see what’s happens to the crowd and the noise at the mighty HTAFC... E I E I E I O…
UTT

We've lost midfield and momentum since subs, getting a bad feeling how this is ending now Please carry on saying stuff like this, two subs combine on the right to set it up😂😂 one of my many classics !......always works...

Nope Ihave seen this too. Last home game he was holding his side as if he had stitchwhich I have not seen in a professional player for a long time.

Some awful passes and continues to just blast at the defender stood in front of him instead of trying to work a yard space before crossing it. Certainly nowhere near the player I thought we would be getting. Peltier was a far better player if you compare to our side the last time we were at this level

Central midfield much better, just held the ball better and coordinated better with each other... thought Hodge was the glue in this and brought out the best in Wiles and Kasumu.. We can't play Evans and Wiles in the same team again, they just nullify each other..
we'll likely slip down the table after todays games but it's wide open so far between 2nd place and 16th...it's taken several games for us to sink to 15th and will take several more games to get us back up to the play off places..
Relief all round today..

Last home game he was holding his side as if he had stitchwhich I have not seen in a professional player for a long time. He’s a key player for us given his undoubted quality at this level.. with all the sports science and support the squad has now it would seem it could be worked on.. unless there’s something we’re not aware of - private medical issue. Superb strike for the goal. Took one look up and drilled right where he intended.. the top left corner.

Fully deserved that win.
Chapman didn't have much to do
Everyone generally played well
We were pretty sloppy at times
Would have been criminal if we hadn't won that game, arguably more so if we'd have lost.
Also those saying career saving win for Duff? Nah. It's not career saving. Job saving quite possibly, but not career saving

Was just starting to accept that we were going home with a point apiece, which would at least have stopped the rot... and the Barnsley fans were taunting Kane and I wondered why we never have players like McClean who raise their game when they're being booed...
Then up pops Kane with an assist!
A much improved performance, and hopefully we've turned the corner. UTFT!

Peltier was a far better player if you compare to our side the last time we were at this level I think his confidence was shot after some high profile errors and being exposed defensively. I think it’s a case of green shoots of recovery atm for several players- Wiles, Ladapo, Evans, But defo Lasse.. but looked so much better in front of Spencer. He was conservative and played for a lot of corners - successfully, but I think his crossing game which we have seen briefly can be recovered. I think he can find his best form for us, in front of a resurgent Spencer. Comparisons with Peltier are imo a bit harsh because he played a long career at the championship or prem level(2 stints was it) Lots of league one team of the year players arguably don’t go on to have as good careers as he did.

Thought Wiles was excellent today, with Bojan much-improved and looking like he might actually have a little something to offer. Interested to see if Wiles keeps it up now after several false dawns. Lots of honesty and reflection from him in his interview after the game on RL, absolutely no excuse if he reverts back to anonymity and being brushed off the ball.

Wiles was exactly same earlier in the season on RL when he’d scored and played ok. Lots of honesty and self reflection. Didn’t change anything subsequently mind ! Let’s hope he can turn the corner and be a minimum 6/10 every game instead of getting 2s and 3s.

Bruichladdich 30 year old...it's a special occasion seeing us win Ok, not a Whisky fan, so no idea of it apart from the usual shit served in pubs, but OMFG (as the youth say). This stuff is like drinking Kate Beckinsale's sweat mixed with the tears of Natalie Portman. Can see why Westie bangs on about whisky all the time... Edit. At my mates house, he gave one to me as it's his birthday, not my choice. knows i don't like it usually. Just told me this stuff is £1500 a bottle... You robbing Gaelic bastards. It's just water and cow feed stuck in an old barrel for years, then add some herbs and shit.

Much better today, actually looked like a team for once. Positionally we were much better and seemed to have a man spare to anticipate and mop up second balls. Miller looked excellent as did Kasumu. Was a bit surprised (but glad) Barnsley didn’t press us harder as that has been our achilles heel.

Is that adjacent to the oyster bar quartet, or down the corridor from the Sushi lounge jazz combo? One can't keep up with all the changes, what what?

Was a bit surprised (but glad) Barnsley didn’t press us harder as that has been our achilles heel. Probably due to not having Evans ambling around not doing a right lot. Kasumu gets through a lot of work and Hodge always wants the ball. Wiles looked better on the right of the 3 rather than recently when he's been out wide left for much of the game
