Hopefully be the start of something much better but only ONE conclusion is acceptable promotion. Settling for less will not do especially as Mr Nagle is buying the stadium and I assume spending a small fortune on the team. Mediocrity is ok for that's entertainment prawn sandwich brigade but real fans want to see graft and passion not excuses from anybody. We have a prawn sandwich brigade? Is that adjacent to the oyster bar quartet, or down the corridor from the Sushi lounge jazz combo? One can't keep up with all the changes, what what? Town have a prawn sandwich brigade . New one a third division side having fans turning up just for the image of being seen and chomping away at them nibbles. This forum does make me chuckle . Keep it up posters your wisdom is frightening.

Many positives today:
Back three full of energy and commitment. Wing backs looking good esp Miller.
Midfield able to exert some control which was nice to see.
Strikers need to be more of a threat.
The opposition today tried to play football which probably suited Town. Their keeper had a very good first half. Well done Town for keeping going.
Overall an impressive performance. Might be tempted to start Radulovic midweek in the hope he can bag a goal. Once he gets off the mark, he could do well.

That’s more like it. Attacking intent, aggressive and at times, entertaining. The real Ben Wiles finally appears, I thought he was brilliant and a much better balance in midfield with the impressive Kasumu. Imo, the first signs that Bojan can lead the line, seems much stronger and when he gets more game time could become an asset. Finally, the fans, despite an abysmal few weeks , proved once again, that there’s no place to be on a Saturday than the JSS.

Watched on my phone on the beach here on the Costa Blanca until my data ran out 10 mins from time so I had to catch up on DATM (without checking the result of course) and those last few pages made great reading. So much better, a lack of pissing around with it at the back and a midfield that actually existed. Can't comment on the goals as haven't seen them. Good result. UTT

Shows why we need to start Hodge (or maybe Kane). He ran the show first half.

Been in the garden all day doing maintenance for coming winter. Only saw final result and then a quick skim of this thread. Looks like a significantly improved performance which is great to hear, need to get some consistency going now. Onward and upward.

A shout out to the fans in the south stand. I got pelted with what I think was only Coke a cola but glass bottles and flares were being thrown. Disgusting behaviour from the dingles. Hope everyone went home unscathed UTFT What a bunch of bell ends them Barnsley scrotes were after the game. Soon has they got outside they were casing problems and one of them threw a smoke bomb in to the Town fans going up the ramp. Gobbing it off all the way to Leeds Road just a small group of about 20 aged 12 -16 and just 3 Police trying to control them and it look like a large group of Town fans were waiting for them up Northumberland st as we walked on Southgate.

Really enjoyed that today - so much better. Even before the two late goals, after the first 20mins we dominated the game and created plenty of chances.
Effort, quality, passing etc was all better in general - I think a few tactical tweaks enabled this improvement:
3 CMs playing more central and closer together with two at the base and one more advanced. All 3 (4 including Kane) played really well. Kasumu mom for me.
Big fan of Helik, but Pearson’s performance today is best performance this season from a CB playing centre of the three.
More mobility and pace in wide CB areas makes such a difference to getting caught on the counter.
Miller is top drawer - only concern is that we are possibly so reliant on him to make this system work, so hopefully he stays fit.
Great to celebrate a win and a strong performance!

It looked like there was a punch up in the top corner of the South Stand where the fence separate's the fans when Town scored their second.

Decent. Took too long to score, but can't grumble as we got the job done. I thought Barnsley were poor. Pearson MOM for me. Need to hope the injury to Hodge isn't too serious, as he looks a really good player... Good win to take into the international break... He was walking around the pitch at the end with the other players taking the crowd applause. Just had sliders on and was walking fine - no sign of a limp or anything. Hopefully taken off for precaution. To me it looked like a hamstring pull when he went down at first, but 🤞 it’s nothing at all.

Lol - I started in the garden at 10:30 - stopped for an extended lunch 12 till 14:30 - now stopped again as I have seized up but garden is lookin much better and of course a win made clipping a 20 foot long 6 ft high pyracanthea (which rips you to shreds) all worth while !

There are actually an admittedly small number of town fans who dont want to be successfull, they've admitted as much, premier league not for them, dont want to go anywhere near it, much rather bob around the lower leagues. Im realistic enought to know its miles away at the moment but i still want it to happen (championship then prem), dont know why some folk bother.

Thoroughly deserved win although it was a late show to confirm it, Hodge and Lonjwik both very good today, and i dont know why Ben wiles gets so much shit on here, four goals from midfield so far this season is good.

Duff and us fans learnt a lot today I reckon. My 2pence fwiw Chapman has promise. Some fine kicks that actually found men. Miller is excellent at this level. Fight & determination. Exactly what was needed today. Helped set the tone. Is he in the senior leadership group - he should be based on how he plays. League one in general plays to Pearson’s strengths. He is worthy of a run in the side. Excellent attitude today. - Just keep passing it to.. Spencer - that’s his position & he MUST make himself available for the ball from Pearson, because he’s a good footballer & he started countless attacks today with.. Sorensen - Looked like he could’ve been the best wing back of league one last year again today but so much credit to Spencer - how he took it forward and used Lasse was excellent. This lad looks a big confidence player to me.. if we start havung more attacking possesion we’ll see the best of him. Nigel: Solid performance and can get better Kasumu: needs to be told that’s your position now for the season. Super performance full of confidence - exactly what was needed. That’s as well as I’ve seen him use the ball I think and his running and tackling was typically strong. Top lad is David. I hope he gets an injury free run in this side in this position. Wiles. This lad is still an enigma. Is he asthmatic? Why is he always seemingly gasping for breath? Is it just me that sees that. Maybe it’s just how he is. The fact is he has genuine quality in his boots. He delivered quality, well thought out crosses, passes and well he has goals in him.. around the edge of the box he’s extremely capable. How long has it been since we had a goal scoring midfielder. That was a goal of the season contender due to the move imo. Fitness & self belief come hand in hand imo. Hodge: I like this signing. Hes small but mobile. He reads play well and he’s a positive player who wants to get onto the front foot. Could be a key player in an attacking side.. Marshall: a professional hard working performance. Radu: Deserves a chance. Can he stay fit and get used the physicality because there’s a player in there I think. Ladapo: I couldn’t actually believe my eyes with his little Cameo. Showed some superb touches the goal but in and around link up, won headers.. clearly wasn’t/isn’t still match fit but if that’s him getting match fit then we’ve got a chance with him. Looked a threat. Added something. As did.. Herbie Kane: lovely touch skill and balance for the goal and he just looked a very good footballer in his small cameo.. Can we please try and keep these players, injury free, training and playing together consistently for a few games now because this is still league one.. We ain’t playing top championship sides every week.. who even is it up next Brizzle Rovers- at home.. same performance should lead to same result. I reckon Duff will be buzzing after that showing and hopefully we can kick on now.. none of us want to be depressed by Town. Carry on playing like that and let’s see what’s happens to the crowd and the noise at the mighty HTAFC... E I E I E I O… UTT I’ve not seen it from Marshall before today but today he caused their defence so many problems. He seemed a bit sharper too, but they all played with a bit more speed and sharpness.

Good performance and win. We looked so much more balanced - a move away from 3-1-4-2 to a more identifiable 3-4-1-2. We were tighter in and out of possession, more organised, and in control. Barring two long-range drives, I don’t think Chapman has had anything to save at all, and he’s been very much in control of everything he has been asked to do. The back three also deserve credit for this.
Muller was excellent, as was Kasumu. They gave us so much energy and Barnsley never dealt with them. Kasumu and Hodge worked as a deeper combination very nicely, and Wiles was where I want him: more of a 10, between the lines.
Both goals were excellent. The first was lovely interplay between Kane and Ladapo, and a great finish. The second was just a rocket - great to see a Town player step onto it, drive on and leather it from range.
Word for the idiots from Barnsley. The worst-behaved set of fans I’ve seen in an age. Normally got a lot of time for Barnsley fans. Not this afternoon.

Hopefully Duff now knows what his “best” team is.
Pearson in the middle of the back 3 with Lonwijk and Spencer looks a far better combination than any others we’ve tried.
Same for the midfield three, funny that without Hogg and Lees in the side we looked far more positive both physically and mentally!
Miller and Sorensen much improved but probably helped by the above as well.
Chapman did well but Nicholls would still make everyone more comfortable I think, but he’s a great backup to have.
Front two did well and Bojan really put a shift in. Marshall also a lot of effort and the team missed a lot of his runs, but Bojan and Koroma should be the main front two when all fit.
Much needed win and hopefully something to build on now. Others in the top 7-8 aren’t slowing down so we really need to string some wins together to get back up there. Autos should still be the minimum target.

He’s looked like a complete passenger at times is why even by his own admission, I agree though you can’t knock the contribution today and he comes across as a very self aware character. If we can get the good version of Wiles consistently he’ll be a big asset.

Whilst Bojan and Marshall did put better shifts in, we can't ignore the chances we passed up yet again today. Bojan in particular should have had 2, and we've been punished for that numerous times already this season.

As they say though, the sign of a good striker is one that consistently puts himself in those goalscoring positions, and Bojan does this without a doubt. The goals will come eventually.

It is a very tight league at the moment.
If we had lost today we would have been sitting down in 19th. But a win and we are only five points off second place, which after our recent run is decent.

Over the last few games Ladapo never seemed to get anywhere near having a shot on goal, let alone scoring. As others have said, the fact that we have players who are creating chances and having shots is a good thing. Hopefully the goals will come with confidence and a bit of luck.

Exquisite one-two between Kane and Ladapo on the touchline under very tight circumstances.... Kane finds Wiles on the edge of the box who steps to his left and with minimal back-lift drills it into the top left corner. Bobby dazzler! Second one, Kasumu the Battery Bunny took a loose ball 20 yards out and rifled it bottom left-hand corner. So, lots of drilling and rifling then... so much more enjoyable than poking and bundling!

Wow what a brilliant performance, too many players to mention really but Miller stand out I thought, POTY maybe? Positive in everything he does and makes things happen.
Pleased for Pearson too, love his attitude, real competitor and winner and seemed to relish having the armband.
Put a couple of passes into touch but so what, it's L1 not champions league, I just want him to defend! Entire team was very easy to support today, every one of them, a really well deserved win. Pleased for them all and for Duff.
I've seen a few people saying Barnsley were poor, I actually thought they looked decent. I think town would have beaten most teams today with that performance.
