A handful of their neanderthal boys were pushing the cops around ... wish the police had sorted em out 🤬 The police are very clever now. Film the morons and arrest at a later date. There was no filming today just 3 Police trying control 20/30 morons gobbing it off all the way to Leeds road, very surprised there wasn't more Police in the car park too especially with both sets of fans having form with each other.

Shout out to Chapman, looked composed with the ball at his feet and punching corners away from a crowded six yard box. Barely had a save of note to make but did everything required and looked the part.

But yes, did feel a little light today considering. Anyways, fuck Barnsley, UTT!

Wow what a brilliant performance, too many players to mention really but Miller stand out I thought, POTY maybe? Positive in everything he does and makes things happen. Pleased for Pearson too, love his attitude, real competitor and winner and seemed to relish having the armband. Put a couple of passes into touch but so what, it's L1 not champions league, I just want him to defend! Entire team was very easy to support today, every one of them, a really well deserved win. Pleased for them all and for Duff. I've seen a few people saying Barnsley were poor, I actually thought they looked decent. I think town would have beaten most teams today with that performance. Got to be honest I love Matty Pearson, I know he’s limited but that lad is a winner and we don’t have enough of them.

Really enjoyed that today. Wiles was class all game rather than just for 20 mins, and his goal was a thing of beauty. Let’s hope that’s the turning point for him, as countless others have said and as he showed for Rotherham, there’s definitely a very good player in there.
Shoutout for Hodge - this lad is quality, gets stuck in for a little lad and has that composure & quality on the ball we’ve been badly lacking. Needs to be a mainstay of our midfield with Kasumu’s energy alongside him. Miller is a class act for this league & Kasumu/Pearson/Spencer also excellent. Onwards and upwards, UTT

Well, I turned up today trepidatious. A point would have been decent beforehand.
The line-up relaxed me; a back three of Pearson, NVL and Spencer looked more comfortable and allowed Miller and Lasse to do their natural thing and my word, they looked happier as a result. Lees, Helik, and Hogg seem to be holding them back with their short crab passing. The back three just kept it simple and it showed. No fannying about with the ball.
The midfield was better with Hodge bossing the game, and Kasumu looking sharp. Wonderfully pleased that he got the goal too. Wiles effort was a cracker.
Up top Bojan put a shift in and looked like he is finding his feet finally, which is great news. Lapado looked to harry and hustle well too. A great team performance and so pleased tonight.
If this team can keep Hogg, Lees, Helik and Ward out of the team, we’re onto something. Well done Duff man.

Much much better today, we just seemed far more fluid and not as static as we have been.
Not sure why it's taken so long to see Hodge and Kasumu should be playing together in midfield but at least it's happened, both played really well today. Wiles looked a lot better more central rather than the odd wide position he's been in.
Wing backs were back to playing well (Miller usually does to be fair).
Pearson was brilliant being left to just defend centrally and the 2 other side with more pace played well and all seemed to compliment each other better.
The front 2 worked hard, Radulovic could have had a goal and I think we should persist with him for a bit now to build his experience in this league and confidence. I'd still start Koroma instead of Marshall though.
Chapman did everything that was asked of him, even a wild shot that he fumbled a bit at least he got his body in the way.
Another thing about Pearson, I noticed in his interview he said a few times he doesn't care about the past, always looking forward. Not sure the same could be said for Lees and Hogg, don't get me wrong none are particularly inspirational at all but the other 2 tend to dwell in interviews and are quite dour and I wonder if that carries through when they're captain, Pearson's attitude in his interview was pretty much "we were shit last week, but it's gone now what are we doing this week".
All round the pitch we just looked more upbeat and had a better tempo today.

Great result, saved Duffs job for me, 8 defeats in 9 would be untenable. Our best performance of the season.
Miller had his best showing and took on his full back with ease. Very promising and a clear starter ahead of Headley.
I thought Kasumu was excellent and showed the energy and drive we miss in CM, also he didn't get yellowed for a change.
I thought Hodge also showed what we've been missing in CM - a player that is will to turn and pass the ball forward.
Even without his goal I thought Wiles had his best game for town. Some of his deliveries were excellent. I really want to be proven wrong with Wiles, 4 goals already is a great start.
Thought Marshall had a good game, chased everything and has a goal in him given the opportunity.
..
Only negatives I thought Spencer was poor again. Doesn't look a natural footballer technique-wise and wasteful going forward. Needs to improve.
Sorenson again poor, abysmal delivery that I dont think once beat the first man in 7/8 attempts.

Managed to get to four matches so far this season - Stevenage, Shrewsbury, Bolton (away) and now Barnsley. Four wins. Was out of the country for Northampton, Blackpool, Reading and Brum. Bit concerned that I'll be in London for Bristol match. Maybe that means a draw. Great match today though with very solid performances all round. From the dominance, Town should have been ahead long before the 83rd minute but their goalie was their MOM. Ref poor again, booking Town players for next to nothing whilst continually letting certain Barnsley players get away with fouling. Hopefully the team is starting to gel and have got the poor spell out of the way (although aware that performances against Reading and Brum weren't disastrous).

Sorenson again poor, abysmal delivery that I dont think once beat the first man in 7/8 attempts. Disagree. I sit behind the goal and he was always making runs and showing for the ball. He looked back to be getting back to his early season form.

Back on DATM after growing absolutely sick and tired of twatter, so here to get my town opinion out, can't hold it any longer 🤣
Great win today, and I put it down to the subtle tactical change Duff made
So far this season we have played with a midfield three consisting of 1 holding player (usually Hogg) and 2 high pressing mids (usually wiles and 1 other, mainly Evans). When it has worked it has looked good in an attacking sense, winning the ball back high and playing the wingbacks in to space, but the issue lies with the gap between the holder and the 2 pressing, meaning if teams can play around the press, they have a whole heep of space to capitalise on in the middle of the pitch, and down the wings behind the wing backs.
Today, duff changed it to a flat 2 (kasumu and Hodge) with a 10 (wiles) and it immediately meant we could play through the middle, with energy from kasumu, and better ball playing from Hodge, and getting wiles in to dangerous areas culminating in the goal.
This paired with good performances from Pearson, miller, Spencer, and bojan (lad needs a goal) meant we looked more balanced and a very decent side. For me, you stick with that line up now. They've earned the shirt. Don't change it and if Evans, kane, Koroma etc want back in the side, they have to earn it.
All round very promising cos I think Barnsley are decent and will be pushing for play offs. Challenge for town now is finding this level of performance consistently. More enthused they can now do this than I was pre game.
