Who are some of the Town players you liked but felt like a lot of other Town fans either didn’t like/ or under appreciated?
In olden days that would probably be best judged by reactions of Town fans around you during the game. Same is prob still true now plus you can add in DATM/social media commentary.
Off top of my head and in no particular order I’ll go for:
- Wayne Burnett - Lee Makel - Nahki Wells - John Thorrington - Craig Armstrong - Steve Jenkins (reckon most will say he was appreciated but also got a lot of stick on here towards the end!)

Anthony Gerrard. A prick by all accounts, but I thought he was a really decent centre back.

Does Martin Smith fit in this category? I thought he was an excellent addition at the time. Kind of blotted his copybook with the Town faithful by jumping ship for the money.

I always liked Kevin Gallen. Plenty didn't, though.

If we talk about "under appreciated" players I could go on forever. However IMO Trevitt, Charlton and Marsden don't get the recognition they deserve. Marsden in particular was a fine player

Grant Johnson. Loved him as a player but wasn't here long enough to really cement himself.

He got an unfair press from Town fans, he did forge good partnership with Craig Maskell and scored a decent rake of goals.

Joel lynch maybe? Tom smith ? and to be honest i think for me the most underated player i have seen at town is Danny Schofield. I really do think his time at Town was underated. he was very effective for us .
