Tim Hotte, I don't really know if he was generally disliked but I loved to watch him play (the few times he played)

There’s a few although I’m not sure if people didn’t like them
Beckford - for obvious reasons but I loved his swagger and composure- one of the best strikers we’ve had in the last 20 years. Jon Russell - was very slow but had a bit of class and was inexplicably dropped for Hogg I believe
Weird one here - Ramadan Sobhi- he was arguably the best of the 3 wingers we bought that awful summer but only got 75 minutes in a town shirt

Totally agree. I quickly forgot who he used to play for and whenever he’s on TV now seems a very likeable bloke. How I wish we had him and Vaughan up front now. Although, the games changed since those days, they’d both be expected to press and track back now!

Although, the games changed since those days, they’d both be expected to press and track back now! Presented Beckford with a man of the match award once (v Millwall I think) and was a bit concerned he might be an arrogant sod, given his on pitch demeanour and who he once played for, but it couldn’t have been more misplaced. Gem of a lad - humble, articulate and engaging.

I totally changed my mind about Beckford when he joined us. Quality on and off the pitch it seems.Would kill to have a striker like that now.

Jason Davidson. Was initially excited that we'd started signing internationals, and he might have even looked half decent on debut. Thereafter was consistently absolute rubbish, becoming a laughing stock for his daft man bun and total lack of footballing sense. I was inexplicably rooting for him, but good god, he was shite.

I was going to post similar but couldn't remember his surname. I suppose I could have done a Buzz and just called him our Aussie fullback My ex used to just call him man-bun Jason when she saw him

One player that used to get pelters on here but I really thought there's a footballer here IF GIVEN A CHANCE,..... Joe Lolley, I know he was injury prone but did very well at Forest.

Duane holmes and tom Ince for me.
Not the best players in their respective sides but put in a shift
Ince might have not lived up to the expectations when he joined and certainly didn't deliver as we'd have liked but I'd have definitely kept him for the second season onwards. Especially considering what we ended up with
Holmes could be temperamental but he put everything he had out there, sometimes his lack of size and strength meant that his all just bounced off people, but again, another I'd rather have had in my side than some of the others we've endured

Add my name to the long list of Collin Quaner fans... I'm starting to think nobody actually disliked him, just a few loud voices who mistook recognising his ungainly stature for having any football knowledge. You don't fluke five assists for a newly promoted PL side.
He looked ridiculous at times but every time he got the ball was exciting as you never knew what he was going to do, and defenders certainly didn't.
Without his heroics at home against Preston, and for the equaliser at Hillsborough in the playoffs, we'd still be waiting to see Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. For that alone, big Coll will always be a legend in my eyes.

Interesting thread. Off the top of my head, Dalton, Makel, McAliskey, Lolley Joe seems to be cultivating an Australian accent:

Yuta Nakayama - if he hadn't got injured last season, I think we may well have stayed up
