Got to put forward Scott Airfield.
We let him go as we didn't think he was up to the Championship yet he went on to make nigh on one hundred Premier League appearances (and he didn't look out of place).

The only reason I couldn’t like Arfield was that he picked Canada over Bonnie Scotland... ☹️ Played up here in this backwater laughable top league with Rangers... Did ok as a player but didn’t win very much !

Well some on here think Robins was the transfer guru, he gets a fair amount wrong. But then again so does our club. When Robins was here , we were offered both Wilson and Christie for a combind 3 million. we choose not to do it. I think we lost out on what they could have done for us.

I don't think we've seen the best of Scott High yet.

Interesting thread. Off the top of my head, Dalton, Makel, McAliskey, Lolley

Makel was class. People hated him because he didn’t smash into the opposition like Bullock. But, he could pass and nicked the ball without flying in.

My submission has got to be Alex Vallejo. Aside from Mooy, the most intelligent footballer I've seen in a Town shirt, but he was generally written off as a cumbersome sick note.
Honourable mentions: Lee Novak used to get a fair bit of stick but I really liked him, he worked so hard and had a decent hit rate.
For as much as Jacob Butterfield was a twat for how he left, he was excellent for us and the pendulum has maybe swung too far away from recognising that. Same story for Jon Russell, but to a much lesser degree.
I'll never forgive Richard Stearman for taking Jon Stankovic's rightful place, but I thought he was better than he was given credit for.
Diakhaby had massive, massive deficiencies but there was the odd fleeting moment where he looked class with the ball at his feet. I think the more non-league he looked and the more shit he got from us, the more I wanted it to click for him just for the shits and giggles. Couldn't help rooting for him that little bit more.

David May. In all seriousness this might be me showing my age but how was Marcus browning perceived not sure if nostalgia serves me incorrectly thinking he was good and or Andy Payton! I was going mind but thought he was a fairly decent town forward that’s been largely forgotten.

Gotta go along with this, if only for his supernatural ability to get his head out of the way when the ball came anywhere near it. Doubtful that Colin will be getting Alzheimers, at least not from any football contributing effects.

Goranc Stankovic. Something about him just looked quality, Beckanbauresq bring the ball out of defence... Injuries did for him here.

Doubtful that Colin will be getting Alzheimers, at least not from any football contributing effects. There was a spell in that 2nd PL season for a few games when he was our best player. I remember thinking I’m happy for Col, but it definitely highlighted what a shambolic transfer window it was!

Danny Ward…
Paul Scott, once upon a time. Never did anything wrong when called upon (red card at Swansea aside). Was just unlucky that when he got his chance he was ousted quickly by a fit-again Nathan Clarke, and we needed someone a bit bigger at the back. Did well at Bury for many years after leaving us.
Also, Michael Collins. I genuinely rated him. He was also unlucky that when a midfield four needed two solid midfielders he was more of a player who could break the lines. Which wasn’t needed with Roberts and Pilkington wide and a goal scoring front two.

You could probably stick Bojan Radulovic in this thread as so many Towns have, probably wrongly, written the lad off.

Joel lynch maybe? Tom smith ? and to be honest i think for me the most underated player i have seen at town is Danny Schofield. I really do think his time at Town was underated. he was very effective for us . The whole Schofield managerial saga pissed me right off. He had been a good servant to the club as a player and a coach so to give him the job then sack him so readily given his service to the club stunk. One of the biggest blots on Hoyle's 2nd stint.
