He won't be going. I don't think that he would go it given the chance but I really don't think they will be after him. He has been shown a massive amount of backing and loyalty from Deano and I think Clark is a man of integrity. He won't let deano down by leaving. He would also be a fool to go to Leicester. It all looks good going to a club with bags of cash and a good squad but if he doesn't get success immediately then he will be sacked and his reputation will be in tatters. It would be better long term for his career to stay with us and get a promotion on his CV. Leicester will be after a big name in the same calibre as Sven. Clark isn't that name. They should also be looking for someone with a track record of success. Clark doesn't have one. :iconlol: :iconlol: :iconlol: :iconlol: :iconlol: :iconlol: :iconlol: He is still here isn't he.

Think our chairman will nip this in the bud By throwing £100 on Gus Poyet?! now that is one manager i could see jumping ship for a bigger oppourtunity. Clark wont go he has unfinished business here, he is always goin on about the loyalty hoyle and board have given him so i think he will realise he needs to re pay that! (2 weeks later - clark is seen at a Leicester game in a Stupid Terrier Bastards t -shirt)

But we aint Leicester and Deano is no foreign owner looking for a new hobby and instant success. With the amount that we have spent on Clark I doubt if any other owner would have remained as loyal and backed his manager. If he goes to Leicester and they don't get instant results then the pressure will be on. If he doesn't get them challenging for automatic by January then he could be sacked.

Be stunned if a manager with in effect an open chequebook who still has not got his team promoted in the 3rd division despite 3 seasons effort would be given the task to get a team in division 2 promoted. funnier things have happened mind in football These comments make me laugh on here. Its positively a Lee Clark wankfest on here at the moment. What great strides he has made year on year and how he is undoubtedly the manager to take us forward. Yet as soon as he is linked with another club, he suddenly isn't good enough due to the fact he hasn't achieved owt yet. Don't recall Paul Lambert or Nigel Adkins breaking many pots before they moved on. Just playing devils advocate pud! will be the view from the outside looking in. We obviously can see different. Re

"I have to open my mind now. It is not just what the news or fans want," Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, the Leicester vice-chairman, said. "I have to listen to everyone and make a decision very carefully. The next manager should be taking us to the Premier League and I think he has to know this league because it's very tough, very tight." That puts that to bed then.

Im pretty sure Lee Clark knows the Championship having played 1/3 of his career at that level inc promotions with Sunderland and Fulham... I suppose. It has changed a fair bit over the last 10 years though. The last 3 or so years it has turned into the most open and competitive league ive ever known.

Now even money. Nobody has actually mentioned Mark Hughes who is currently 2nd/3rd favourite.

I think if i was backing anybody for the Job at current value for money odds, it would be Billy Davies. Based on the fact he is very experienced at that level and is obviously local to the club.

Betting odd are a function of the flow of money, not necessarily reality. Lots of none HTFC people having a tenner on Clark...
Jones will get the job. O'Neil wants one last stab at the premiership

MON rules himself out but the article doesn't quote him once? Hmm... I don't think Martin O'Neill will go back to Leicester. The club has very impatient foreign owners who demand instant success, it wouldn't take 5 minutes for him to start falling out with them. Lee Clark thinks long term and I don't think Leicester will be a long term job for anyone at the moment.

If by some Miracle Clark did go (which he won't) he would be making a colossul mistake in my opinion. He could find himself out of a job in a year whereas a new manager could have taken us to the championship. If he were to leave id be tempted to give Paul Stephenson the job to have a bit if continuity.

I would take it, if offered; if I were Clark.
His reputation after leaving here would be good (rightly or wrongly) and he would have the chance to take a club to the PL and spend loads of cash, which hw obviously enjoys.
If he fails and gets sacked by Leicester next summer his reputation will be in tact, as.long as he doesnt mess it up completely, and *everyone gets sacked unfairly by Leicester* so that another Championship job could be taken
Should he stay and we fail to go up (a very real possibility - this is Town) he would probably be sacked by us, and.then where would he be...?
A perfect opportunity for him to leave would be now.
If he did leave, hopefully we wouldnt have any of this *first season not counting* nonsense and any new manager would be expected to take us up this season (much like at Leicester...)
Time will tell...

Let's face it...Clark's in a win win situation!
I think he'll want to stay and finish what he started.
If he did leave, which I don't think he will, I'd be knocking on Dave Jones's door very quickly.
