A lump of lard who looks like he ate all the pies when at Preston. Can't believe he is only 29.

Good thing is even if he doesn't hit the ground running, he's got such a good reputation and his style of play should mean that opposing teams will mark the hell out of him and be really wary of him, which should still give Rhodes time and space to do his thing. An unknown coming in would have meant that Rhodes was the one well marked.
Be interesting to see what Charlton fans think of this. Still a bit worried about Logan ephraim, more than capable of ripping this league a new one.

He is a big lad.
Not seen anything of him to make a judgement though.
Hope it doesn't mean we simply smash it up to him ASAP rather than play football.
Good luck to him, time will tell whether or not he is a good signing or not...

Brilliant signing. Watched him at Preston several times and hes Alan Lee just 10 times better. Good touch decent skill and a powerful shot and will do all the dirty work. Not got a bad long throw either

:sorry: You all might be calling him decent, good signing etc.. But you will regret signing him when he returns back to us. That is no word of a lie. Although all center backs against him will be bricking it. : : : : : :

After seeing Parkin we will realise how shit Alan Lee really is. Parkin will be in defenders faces without throwing himself on the floor and moaning at the ref and may actually look like threatening the goal. I certainly aren't counting the days to when Lee is back in the side and if we could get Parkin to the end of the season I would be delighted. might not have put it so bluntly but agree to be honest. lee has done ok this season but he'll never win me over fully, parkin is a better footballer.

Great signing and timing. He has a great attitude- excellent for a loan player as he will have a point to prove. Seen him have some awesome performances for Preston the year before last, including that 6-4 thumping of L666ds 6-4 doesn't strike me as much of a thumping, it's the same as 2-0 :-)

Could be an excellent signing. Hope we do play football however and not just hoof it to him. Would have loved it to have been Stead but this lad has the physical presence alright. Cheers DH and LC ,and so to Charlton and the wheelies, let battle commence!

Good signing definitely, should be more than capable of filling in for AL while he's out, has a better goalscoring record over his career than Lee does as well...

Hands up those that can remember a Town manager who was able to go out and get someone in on loan of this quality just to cover for a suspension when we have other alternatives for THREE games? Cant imagine hes learning much being able to visit the sweet shop again instead of coping with the squad HE's assembled. Luckiest manager in the best, first job anyone could get at ANY club. PS Still in third division

Burgess ( who was playing for Notts ) is a poor mans Parkin tbh, should imagine the Beast will partner Jordan on monday night and be a handfull for the Charlton defence.....

Ha, well yeah, I did suggest that if Clark wanted a big lad up front to take and give shit to defenders (at the same time not scoring or assisting) that I would do the job for free.
Personally I don't have such optimism about his signing as most of the rest on here, haven't seen him play so can't make a judgement either way.

Maybe we can give our target man a standing ovation for doing something genuinely good, rather than one of Alan Lees comedy dive or weak effort towards goal. I find the hero of big Al very strange, yes he gives 100 % but let's face facts he is shite. Only town fans can complain about players like Danny Ward and Gary Roberts not producing only to give Alan Lee a standing ovation for falling over handling the ball then falling into one of the Notts defenders like he did in front of the Kilner last week.
