I always thought the Alan Lee thing was a bit tongue in cheek.

Maybe we can give our target man a standing ovation for doing something genuinely good, rather than one of Alan Lees comedy dive or weak effort towards goal. I find the hero of big Al very strange, yes he gives 100 % but let's face facts he is shite. Only town fans can complain about players like Danny Ward and Gary Roberts not producing only to give Alan Lee a standing ovation for falling over handling the ball then falling into one of the Notts defenders like he did in front of the Kilner last week. You said it Fred. 100% :celebrate: :udders:

A big ugly bastard, just what we need... no really.
Should keep a couple of centre halves busy while Rhodes is heading 'em in.
Hope he stays injury free and stays on the pitch.

Good signing definitely, should be more than capable of filling in for AL while he's out, has a better goalscoring record over his career than Lee does as well... Alan Lee career goals 98 Jon Parkin career goals 96 A bit younger but like Lee not exactly prolific Wiki has him at 6 foot 4.1/2

[Diid we not once have a player with that name at Town in nineteen hundred and frozen to death?
I was correct. Derek Parkin. Full back at Town and incredibly was transferred to Wolves in 1968(the most expensive full back in the country)

What's with all the Lee bashing. He is a good player at the level. He runs through brick Walls for us and I'm sure Rhodes loves having someone like him as a strike partner. He ain't ever gonna score more than a handful of goals in a season but the other things he does more than make up for that. I bet the people slagin lee are the same people who wouldn't have afobe back!

The Alan Lee type player we have been crying out for ever since we signed Alan Lee.
He certainly seems to fit the bill, lets hope that he can hit the ground running & deliver.

Imagine Lee and Parkin up front.
Quite possibly the slowest and heaviest forward line in our history.

Boothy and Beckett will never be beaten as the slowest strikeforce
That live sky game away at Crewe was painful to watch :suicide:

I'm glad most posters are as positive as I am about Parkin's loan signing. I am continually impressed with Lee who, quietly and quickly, with Deano's support always manages to bring someone in as soon as we have a problem like this.
Lee seems to have some good contacts throughout the Leagues and Town must have the right reputation that allows these things to happen so easily.
Thanks to them both once again.

I don't think we should be knocking Alan Lee like some posters are. He ain't no Pele but he does work for his shirt.
I do however believe the beast have more goals in him.

This is a more recent one, Looks like floyds... Looks more like he should be a front row rather than a centre forward. From what i've heard though a good signing.

I like the fact he does the water carrying whilst Jordan gets the goals, but in contrast to your last sentence I wouldn't have Benik back.

I for one tink LC & DH have struck early and with thought to land the 'beast'. Evertime I have seen him he's a handful & Charltons southern softees won;t have come across anyone like him yet this season. Good service from GR or JH and with JR scoring at will could be a very interesting result. Saying that we have to be solid at the back which has been a problem recently....very soft goals conceded and as LC says 'giving away stupid fouls around the box creating more probs' Am a big fan of Alan Alan Lee so Beast has some serious work to do. Bring on Monday. UTT (and my final T stands for Town NOT Terriers..hate that)

I'd have thought Rhodes was slower than Lee too Give yer head a shake... I'm fairly sure I've seen Lee run past defenders and get away from them on a couple of occasions(only a couple mind) I cant remember seeing Rhodesy do that,I think that lack of pace might be all that ends up holding him back from getting to the very top
