Cant believe the amount of shite on this forum, the lad deserves a lot of credit and must have unbelievable bottle to come and play for us and while hes wearing blue and white and fighting for our cause he shud get our immense backing because giving him stick is not helping him or the team in our bid for promotion, for one i think his dad did nowt wrong and assembled a great team which i thought were brilliant to watch and then had the rugged pulled from underneath him by the tossers above (stewart), also we have struggled with centre halfs for god knows how long and from what ive heard from leeds fans hes a great signing, mccombe is shite and good ridance to him but this lad might be just what we need to get us up so get behind the lad and stop all this bullshit! Well said mate. Agree 100%.

I agree aswell, he's playing for us not against us, he's shown commitment to come here after the history he's had playing against us, so hopefully the fans will support him. :appl: :appl:

I agree, because of past history with his dad, getting sent off against us when receiving so much abuse and the fact that he's a L***d player as well, I recken he will be so determined to win us the fans over, that he will be playing out of his skin and if he does he will be a fantastic signing. Also he will be playing for a permanent deal. Good luck to him, I wish him well

Not bothered who his Dad is; the hatred for Steve Bruce seems to me to be way over the top and whilst I may not like some of the things he did, I in no way hate him so much that I would hate having his family members playing for us! I always saw the abuse of Alex Bruce as a jokey bit of banter anyway, the sort of thing that football fans do all the time.
If he's good enough to play and he playes well then I will be incredibly happy, if he plays badly then he will be a poor signing because of the, NOT because of who his dad is.
It is a shame that McCombe has left on loan as he was playing well up until the suspension, but he hasn't played for the last few weeks and we haven't fared to badly. Perhaps he asked to go on loan? Perhaps Clark hates him and wants him out? Perhaps the comments that he needs to be playing regularly to get back to form are actually true (I'm willing to take them at face value). Who knows?
But in any case, I'm willing to give Bruce a chance. I would never say he's a bad signing because of who his family is or who he played for - if he's a bad signing then it will be because he's played badly. We can't tell that until he's played a few games so may as well give him a chance!

Amazed you have signed this sh** player, in L1 he was utter dog s**t for us, was better for leeds in championship though but at this level he just fouls way way too much, very surprised with your loan signings.
Serious comment btw.

If we had to sign a Leeds player Andy O'Brian would have been my prefference. Never really rated Bruce TBH but will give him a chance if he plays. I reckon he's just cover behind Clarke, Kay and Cooper missen

Serious comment btw. Considering he only played six games for you six years ago at the age of 21 maybe he's matured?

So the fact footballers are becoming increasingly mercenary by the second doesn't annoy you at all Not sure how that's a pathetic attitude. Re the signing, I must admit to mixed feelings. I fully take on board the view that whilst he's wearing our shirt he should receive our full support. However I also know that if a week ago you'd asked me to name 5 championship players I really wouldn't want Town to sign, Alex Bruce would have been firmly on that list (and I think that would hold true for an awful lot on here, including some of those being "holier than thou"). ....& if some of the reasons are hard to justfy without looking irrational then I suppose I'm guilty as charged but, having a season ticket in Leicestershire I really don't need telling that my feelings for the club are more often than not irrational. Ps ...To come here AB must be a mixture of very brave, very arrogant or very stupid. Hope it's weighted towards the former.

I suspect none of these attributes are significant in his decision to accept the move. We're unlikely to register on his radar, he just played here a couple of times when he was a kid, I bet he can barely remember the games. It's nothing more complicated than he was informed of the interest on Wednesday, he already knows Lee Clark, so said yes...bet there wasn't a single moment where he stopped to consider "I'm going from Leeds to Hudds"...or the things beyond that relating to his dad or his weak (performance wise as well as mentally) games at Town that are on our minds as supporters. Footballers are mostly oblivious.

He starts with a clean slate as far as the management are concerned. Any misgivings some supporters may have could and should be forgotten if he does a job for us. Personally I think he will turn out to be a good signing.

I heard a little bit of an interview on radio Leeds with Oggy and selliing Stewart was discussed - did anyone here it and waht did he say?

Do you think it is fair that we always seem to assume the worst of footballers? Do you not think players in days gone by would've acted very differently in today's circumstances? Personally more irritated by the increasing bitter attitude of fans and never ending self pity. How to make yourself popular on a fans forum by HC
