Well that was a lot more entertaining than I expected. Of course its different playing against lads your age rather than for example going up against Campbell or Hogg who are out to hospitalise you at every opportunity - but it kind of looked a bit like what the CC approach was described as (that we haven't really seen).
Back this system with the players and it works.
The way that Conor Falls came on and contributed, you can see exactly why we might be after someone that plays like Jordan Rhodes.

Great win, Town were in total control until we went ahead & complacency set in. Dunno if you can give MOTM to someone sent off but Camara was superb. The only other worrying thing was possibly fitness at the end, it's natural for young lads to get cramp on the big pitch but it only seemed to be our lads, unless there was a bit of time wasting. Big congratulations to the lads, I really enjoyed the game. I think we played a more 'expansive' game and Burnley looked like, well, Burnley. They looked solid and tried to catch us on the break so I think our lads probably ran a lot more. Looked to have some talented young lads in our side tonight. Great result.

Movement is good. They pass crisply, accurately, and a yard ahead, rather than a yard behind. It was refreshing to watch after some of the stuff we have been served up by the first team. Like you, it gives me hope that Carlos can turn it around.

Enjoyed that. Town always looking to play football and deserved the win
Just looked at the other sides in this competition- including from what I can tell Burnley, Blackburn, Barnsley and Sheffield Utd. It’s a good competition to win.
From what I can see there isn’t a player who doesn’t look like they have a chance of making a pro career. If they knuckle down they will get an opportunity at town

The odds of making it from that age are actually pretty slim but they seem to be getting the best start they could. If they do make it lets hope the majority are with Town.

Oh realistically if two or three make it from that group it would be a very good outcome I guess my point is that they all looked to have talent - good luck to them all and hopefully we see a few in the first team before long

One of the few games I've watched in 2021 that players in a town shirt have actually given entertainment to the fans.
They showed that shower of shit first team how to wear the shirt with pride.
They dug deep towards the end but also showed skill & desire to win.
We look to have a talented bunch coming through.
Well played lads 👍

Fantastic result for the lads tonight. You could see at the end what the win means to them.
They'll all be going home in the next few days, so they'll be 'buzzing' for the next 4 weeks and chomping at the bit to get back to Canalside.
Thought Camarra was MOTM
Chuffed to bit for Midgley to get the winner and the lad did well to last the 90.
Maroodza is my (Zimbabwean) wife's new favourite player :-)

The French lads looked absolute quality. Shame we won’t be able to pick any more of them up.

Good luck to every one of them, and here's hoping that they can graduate to the first team, or at least make a living out of football.

As there was no info about the out of contract b team players and second year scholars on the retained list as it usually are, is there anyone on here who have any inside? If I’m correct the following players contracts expire after this season:
- Nassim Kherbouche - Tom Bamford - Ilounga Pata - Will McCamley
And the following players are coming to an end of their scholarships:
- Michael Roxburgh - Josh Okpolopko - Ben Midgley - Ernaldo Krasniqi - Luke Billam - Myles Bright - Darnell Baxter-Alleyne - Gulutte Zunda - Andre Edionhon - Robson Shipley

Are there any surprise in there to people who know about the youngsters? Must admit there's a couple that we've kept on who I've never heard mentioned before - Luke Billam & Michael Stone.

I thought Michael Stone was a first year scholar, apparently not as he got a new contract?

I am guessing that he's done really well and perhaps a couple of other clubs are sniffing around, so we've offered him a pro contract. We offered Diarra, Ayina, Daley and Jones contracts after the first year of their Scholarships.

What’s this guy’s chances of making it? Anyone seen much of him? Seems to have been a few highly rated keepers in the youth teams that never made the grade, and as we see from Schofield it’s a big jump even from youth internationals to the championship.

TBF I haven’t seen much of Jacob but the guy who’s the current u/23 keeper is an ex Tottenham(not that that means much) youth keeper, currently playing full time for the A League leaders in Australia. The u/23 manager won’t pick players who aren’t playing regular football. I’m not sure who the reserve keeper is but because Jacob isn’t playing regularly, I doubt he’ll make the cut. With that said, it’s still a great achievement and even if Jacob only has a small chance, it’s better than none.

Does the other young GK, Bilokapic (?), in the U17s in the Clarets Cup qualify for you guys too? I was really impressed with him, especially his starting position in open play as he didn't have much else to do.

Pretty sure he’s played u/17’s Australia. Australia has always been good at producing decent keepers. If I was ever scouting out ready made keepers, I’d always be watching the A-League. Often they go overseas, get good development, can’t crack the first teams, come back to Australia, get regular game time in a competition that plays out from the back, then get swooped up by European teams. It’s a well worn path. Next one up is the u/23’s keeper, Tom Glover. Playing against Argentina, Spain and Egypt, so if he puts in a good performance I’d expect him to be gone come the end of the Olympics.
