Whatโs this guyโs chances of making it? Anyone seen much of him? Seems to have been a few highly rated keepers in the youth teams that never made the grade, and as we see from Schofield itโs a big jump even from youth internationals to the championship. Just seen the full overseas squad. Seems as though the backup keeper is in this squad. So it will be in Jacobโs hands to outperform the backup keeper. Jordan Holmes(ex Bournemouth youth) playing in the National League for Ebbsfleet Utd. The lad has been playing full time so it probably gives them the edge over Jacob, but Jacob is definitely in with a bigger shot than I first thought.

Reckon we should loan him this season? Might be good for the lad.

Interesting that theyโre trying to convert Austerfield to a centre back. Wonder if itโs a long term positional change or just to make him a bit more adaptable.

He looked a good player in the first team pre-season games last summer so maybe the plan is to make him into a ball playing central defender.

From what we saw last season he looks like a good link up player. He could maybe play a similar role to Vallejo. According to his stats he is about 5โ 9โ so probably not a centre back. He has obviously worked on bulking up, which I guess is a must as younger players develop.

Probably put him at centre back to get him used to using his body more- 5kg is a fair amount of lean mass to put on. He didn't look like much of a centre back when I've seen him play, but we do have a lot of good young defensive midfielders coming through at this point.

I guess it adds to his usefulness if he can play different positions. He did look quite natural in that linking midfield role though. Letโs hope we have more dilemmas of that sort than the ones weโve had last couple of seasons.

Has anybody seen much of Kit Elliott? Interesting to see where he is in the pecking order after a strong end to the season. Has he leapfrogged ahead of Harratt?

He may have had a growth spurt since whenever that measurement was taken - looked about 6 foot when I saw him in the friendly against Bradford last summer.

Have a feeling if we stick with Carlos long term heโs looking for defenders comfortable with the ball in a back 3 with hard working athletes as a front 3 and full backs overlapping Wouldnโt be shocked to see a few more young lads moulded into completely new positions

Any news on contract take up by scholars we want to retain. Some in that category it would be a shame to lose.

I can't find the name of the academy now, but we went through a bit of a phase of taking players from an organisation who gave released youngsters a second chance based on their stats. Edit: XYZ Academy. That's the one. Olagunju and Ijiwole came from there in the same year. And Aaron Rowe and Obiero.

It doesn't scream of casting the net wide from our point of view. Sure there was some existing relationship between them and Bromby, so unless one of them comes good, it might look lazy.

Looks like Jacob Chapman spent most of his time with the Australian U/23โs team as an unused substitute. I wasnโt following the games closely so Iโm unsure if he got any game time. It wonโt have helped that one of the games was cancelled. Still a big honour for the lad as a 20yo in the u/23โs squad, so congratulations to him.

Chapman and Bilokapic were the youth keepers training alongside Schofield in today's video. No sign of Bellagambi though. Been very impressed with Bilokapic from what I've seen so far, maybe he's jumped ahead in the pecking order.

Hope he continues to progress as he has the last 2 years. Sarrโs contract is up next summer and Colwill goes back, so great if he is ready for the first team 22/23 season.
