He sounds to me just what we need. Strong and takes no crap from players. Would love it if true!

Heard that the 3 front runners are: Alex Mcleish Tony Mowbray Steven Pressley Absolute masterstroke by The Baron is this... Send Brooky down to Corals with a couple of bags of shrapnel; Rein in the odds on a couple of dry old prunes; Fans realise Pressley is 'The Man' after all... I personally wouldn't be averse to Pressley: Progressive thinker, champion of youth, seemingly calm demeanor but with the appearance of a man who knows his way around a Laphroaig bottle and isn't to be be trifled with. |

For whats its worth... Not managed a team in 18 months. Only 11 wins in his last 55 matches as a manager in the last 4 years. McLeish currently holds the record for being statistically the worst manager of Aston Villa, with a win percentage of only 21.4%. Oh, and i once sat next to the big, dour lump on a flight. I could barely move and the cheapskate was in economy. Wiki says he is 6 foot 1...thats just his head! He probably went economy cos he assumed you'd be in first class......  Just kidding!! |

It was a long time ago...i forgive him. Anyway, the flight was from Scotland...its all economy there. To be frank i have flown maybe 600 times (i had a little calculation earlier this year) and i have only been 1st or business three times...and someone else paid! |

Of the names that keep cropping up, Chris Powell is the only one that doesn't provoke a resigned sigh...
Even HOPE Powell would be a less controversial appointment than McLeish...

Other Villa managers have got them relegated, so poor win percentage or not, id say they were worse.
He had a season there, contending with Lerner's cut backs in investment after Oneils big spending days.
Can't say Im that up on Villas recent history, but believe Im right in saying his job was to basically slash the wage budget and not get relegated whilst the owner tried to find a buyer.
Like i say, I suspect the level of criticism he gets from Villa fans has more to do with him putting a trophy in Birminghams sideboard than anything else.
But obviously it would be ludicrous for us to even consider a manager who in a 2 decade career hasn't had a continual flow of success in every job hes held.
We are after all Huddersfield Town. A name that goes hand in hand with continued success.
