Who you expecting? Guardiola? You'd give up if we even so much as consider a manager who's managed in the champions league knock out stages, his country, the prem , won titles, cups, promotions... I find it laughable. . Villa's worst ever manager? Some Villa fans would say that about just about every manager theyve had since Ron saunders! they're all 'Villa's worst ever manager, etc'. Standard bleeting of fans of a club who think thewy have a right to be doing better than they are. . Villa fans who single McLeish out do so because he was at Birmingham- where he won silverware which they haven't managed to do for donkey's years. If it does happen, don't be whinging about the quality of football you're having to watch every week There's good reason he has the lowest ever win percentage of a Villa manager and was sacked after 7 games at Forest Is it the same good reason he has all the great things in his track record, like the trophies and promotions? Or is it best to just judge him on the bad things?

And of course, managers who have only known success, will be beating Dean Hoyle's door down at the chance of managing Town!!

Or is it best to just judge him on the bad things? He has a mixed record, and its only fair to acknowledge he's done well earlier in his career and not so well later in his career. He has a reputation for playing very dour, defensive football and I'm not sure how that fits in with Town's footballing philosophy - aren't we meant to be embedding a progressive passing game at all levels of the club? If so, McLeish doesn't seem to fit in with our stated methods. Time will tell I suppose.

Im not really advocating giving him the job. We may have better options. I'll support whoever dean decides he wants to go with. Its all pot luck IMO I just find it hilarious that theres this idea that even considering someone who's achieved what he has as a manager is somehow beneath the mighty Huddersfield town! Some people are utterly deluded IMO

He walked after the George Boyd affair, failing a medical due to eyesight.

Well going by your logic captain, Owen Coyle would be good appointment Hes had success and failure. thats the point. ANY manager whos been at it for a decent length of time will. Any that have just had success won't even begin to consider coming here in a month of sundays- they're managing at higher levels. On Coyle though, I wouldn't consider him after he refused to be interviewed the last time the arrogant prick, but as a manager, hed be just as likely to come in here and do well as anyone else.

I hope it isn't McLeish, awful record in England. And the other 'candidates' don't get me excited - except the Dutch man!

This appointment is huge for the club, I think this league will be the toughest it has been in years. Plenty of teams losing one week and winning the next it is that tight so we have to get it spot on. No margin for error whatsoever. Like you, I'll support whoever the chairman opts for, that goes without saying. I think questioning McLeish's style of football is a valid point given what we are trying to achieve and what we would like to see on the pitch.

Football is all about opinions, I guess. But, 6 Cup trophies, 3 league title wins, and a promotion to his name, would suggest he's the opposite of an awful manager. Not to mention his 10 manager of the month awards.

Not to mention: Motherwell, Hibernian, Rangers, Scotland, Birmingham City, Aston Villa and Notts Forest as clubs you've managed.. You could always throw in Huddersfield Town and of course we'd stand out amongst 3 former european cup winning clubs. Pffft, some people baffle me on here. I genuinely believe if Sir Alex Ferguson turned up, we'd have folk on here saying they wouldn't be impressed.

No, Birmingham were runners up, so they didn't win the league, me and you both know you knew that. You were just trying to be a smart arse. I really don't want to be a pedantic or a condescending prick Yoy, but if you look deep enough you will find he won a league title with Hibernian. Maybe you have selective reading... I'll put it down to human error though

Meeting Powell again today.... Not sure where that leaves McLeish. how long have you been seeing him? Out doing some location journalism this morning, quiet day at the office. Ive taken my laptop and having a wander around the town ground, canalside and local food outlets looking for candidates to get a newsnetwork exclusive. Im currently sat in my car, in the cinema car park if someone fancies bringing a spot of lunch and to have an exclusive look at the Newsnetwork interface.

No person with a parted comb-over that big should be employed by HTAFC. Don't think it has ever been appropriate, never will be - and it does not set a good example to the kids in the academy.
