Not sure it will be that much, let's not forget the received over £2m for Forshaw. No doubt they have spent money but so did we when we first came up I just believe the difference is they have used the market a lot better than us, some smart signings like Andre grey and then some very good use of the loan market to get players in to suit the style they want to play. The forshaw transfer tells a story in itself. brentford seem to be in a position to invest transfer fees straight back into the squad. Most of the transfer fees we've received have gone to balancing the books. Hey you've supported town for many many years and I admire and respect that so you are certainly entitled to an opinion more so than me Not about how long people have supported town for mate everyone is entitled to an opinion that's what theses bored are for I may not agree with some but I respect it. Town have to be smart Brentford have used the links they have with great effect and being in London will know about help, we won't be able to spend millions but we do have good links to some of the big premier league clubs maybe next year we could utilise this a bit more as we seen to have neglected his a little.

People squeal about "why aren't we doing as well as Burnley... Bournemouth... Brentford" (maybe the letter B is lucky) You never hear "thank god we aren't losing every week like blackpool or wigan or millwall" or "thank god we aren't in the fourth division like pompey and Plymouth"... football isn't an exact science.. Even if it was then there is the slight obstacle of having opposition teams who want to win just as much as us.. some people don't get that .. they think all we need to do is either dean hoyle stump up... or "do X and Y and Z will happen cos it has at Brentford".. If only it was that easy.. That's not to say things cant be done better and that's not to say that people who don't always see the negative side of everything aren't as royally pissed off as the "moaners" when we get thumped 4-1..... That's a really good point. All some people do is bang on about success stories like Bournemouth & Brentford & use them as examples to suggest we're underachieving. Funny how they don't mention us being above the likes of Fulham, Reading & Wigan etc. who we really shouldn't be, given their parachute payments. The bottom line is that we underachieve against some & overachieve against others. Thing is, it's all so one sided with the doom & gloom merchants. They hit the club with every stick they can find but completely ignore the positives. They just want it all one way. Then there's the usual shit that gets trotted at this time of the year out about us 'being in a false position & only being out of the bottom 3 cos other teams are so bad'! Stuff like that does my head in, because the only reason it's used is to devalue what the club has actually achieved. What is the point FFS!?

if we had lost our last 2 games 1-0 or 2-1 there would not be the extreme criticism. Losing in the manner we have is very difficult to take. We seem to be completely unable to learn from the mistakes of previous seasons defensively and even though we are playing in a negative way we are still getting pumped by more than 3 goals a match! Fans are right to be concerned.

When we are just one goal down the likes of Butterfield and Bunn still think we can turn it around, but when the second one goes in the belief that we can get back in the game evaporates and defending is all that occupies their minds.

I personally think its down to poor tactics. It appears that the manager says before a game "right lads we arent good enough to take these lot on so sit tight, defend deep and we will try to nick a goal on the counter" When that goes tits up then all kinds of chaos ensues, the team never felt confident in taking them on in the first place and now the game plan has gone the confidence is out of the window. It can't be doing our players much good to go into every game feeling second best.

Can anyone see him seeing out the season?? That may depend on season ticket sales figures between now and the beginning of May!

How much to sack him? He is on a rolling contract so not that much surely. Get Lillis in for the last 10 games, bide our time and get a manager who is positive, wants to win and doesnt hide.

Mark Lillis till the end of the season.
And get Mark Warburton on a pre contract ready to take over. Brentford play good football passing / attacking.

I don't think its an issue..he wont be offered or he wont take the next year..the interest from both sides appears to have waned somewhat..

Based not only on what we say today, especially that 2nd half, but other recent performances, Powell has to go. I can't see what he's going to do between now and next week to change things. I'm not big on changing managers every 18 mths but surely our best option now is to get rid & put Lillis in charge again until the end of the season. We can argue all day long about whether Powell was ever a good appointment, etc, but that won't change things. We realistically need another 3 wins and we're ok for another season. The players should unite under Lillis as they've done previously, the fans will do the same, we get the points needed sooner rather than later and he will play attractive football amd some of the juniors where possible. The board then need to have a long, hard think about who we appoint next. Warburton, as has been elsewhere, would appear to be a good fit for us. Reading aside, there have been some really awful performances in recent weeks and I think it's time for a change.

If he can't motivate the players to put 100% effort in what hope is there.

After watching Town for over forty years I think its time to call it a day.How deano expects to sell season tickets after watching the CRAP football we have to endure week after week is beyond me.Powells substitutions are a laughing stock, the 3>0 win over Reading was possibly the only game I have enjoyed for a long time, all the fans around me in the Brit Res stand agree the defence and midfield are not good enough. Why do we recruit from Blackpool and Birmingham when clubs around and below us recruit from the prem and abroad. Please FA take Powell and his crap sidekick back down south im sure the FA had a big say in his appointment at Town....Rant Over...ffs.
Clubs below us are recruiting from the prem? What does that say about our manager then? Maybe it's more about Hoyle, not wanting to pay the Premier League wages needed to recruit PL players.

Seems to me it the chairmans fault! He obviously has no clue on how to choose a manager! Sell up Dean! Preferably to someone who knows something about football!

Today's performance was shocking and whilst I don't think Powell will be sacked just yet, I think Town should be sounding Warburton out to see if he'd fancy the job. Powell must be given an ultimatum now....Show some bloody fight & passion or you'll be on your bike mate!

Norwich home tues we get pasted.. That'd be 5 defeats on the bounce. Untenable even for powell to stay in the job?!

Wouldn't have made any difference.

Why do people think Warburton (or whatever the current flavour of the month is) would do any better. There are multiple reasons why things just click and then the 'God' moves on and is an instant flop in their next role... There are probably as many journeymen Managers as there are players nowadays...
It's football, we're a middling team in Northern England with a reasonably stable fan base & a platform that many clubs in this country would envy (but why would sensible professionals come on here to give a balanced view). We won't become Chelsea overnight, nor will we drop back down to crowds of 4k etc...
A bad few days at the office and this board becomes full of back seat drivers...

Agree, but you must admit the manner of the defeats over the past week gives real reasons for worry. We've been well beaten and haven't turned up in all three. I was expecting some sort of reaction today, but all I saw was a team going through the motions.

'A bad few days at the office'? It was obvious to me that the players weren't playing for the Manager today. But the Rotherham players were playing for Evans, despite what some people on here think about him.
