At least do your research... Before David Wagner ... they were coached by Hannes Wolf who later won promotion from Bundesliga 2 to Budesliga with Struggart Now at Hamburg who are top of Bundesliga 2 So I’d say there’s 3 in a row - Not bad I’d say Are you saying 4 in a row is a long shot? What happened to the coach before that... and maybe the one before as well??? He was on The Great Egg Race.....

You won’t bother because it’s an impossible mission. The guy was sacked at RWE all their fans wanted him out. Has no credentials even for a league one club. God knows what our players will make of this. A UEFA PRO licence holder well before 36 years of age. The development team coach of the best team in the world once you put budget, success and playing style into perspective. Former Germany 18s coach, one of the very best National teams. Very similar coaching path/experience to our last manager who was unfathomably successful.... Not to mention the awareness of the good young talent around Europe/world that he will have gained in that Germany role

Of more importance can we think up a good song - perhaps "There's only 2 Jan Siewerts" as a starter for 10? 🤣

Jan Siewert - On site @ the club now. No doubt he's somewhere being asked what his favourite colour is for the HTTV video... Wonder when he first knew of the interest.

No doubt he's somewhere being asked what his favourite colour is for the HTTV video... "Jan, when did you first hear about Huddersfield Town's interest in you?" Exactly!

If it is Jan he will have my support but I do agree with some of the other comments on here about what he has actually done so far. When David Wagner came to Town I had a lot of the same reservations. I did not know anything about him, had no clue if he would be any good, and I am glad to say he did a fantastic job. Having said that I think Jan is an even bigger risk because the chances of every coach coming out of the Dortmund B set up being a great coach is slim to none. So far there have been 2 I know about, I think 3 in a row is beyond a long shot but hope it pays off. But lightening doesn’t strike twice. Etc.

There was a press conference when we appointed Wagner whilst we were In the championship. It will be interesting to see if we do it again or if it will be a low key affair with a 6pm announcement.

In all seriousness i would like to know whether mr wolf was considered for this role. I mean this guy is a future champions league winner. We could of got him if we wanted. Hannes has a 46percent win ratio. Wolf has already guided one team into the bundesliga with another enroute. Are hoyle and co even aware that a manager by the name of hannes wolf exists? He wasnt even on the betting from what ive seen. The only mention coming from me.

Whoever it is, assuming it is likely to be Martin from Wakefield (that'll stick I bet), given where we are and that we have just had an unprecedented level of success what is really the benchmark for this chap?
If he pulled off the miracle of staying in the Premier League (a flight of complete fancy I grant you but mathematically possible) that would be exceptional however being entirely realistic what does success look like for the new man?
It's almost impossible to gauge yet for loads of reasons but if we are challenging for top 6 in the Championship this time next year he'll have done a good job. Anything more is a bonus I reckon. Mid-table security would be judged on the football played. Lower and, unless there are mitigating circumstances, would be disappointing.

Apart from ease of aquirement, which i think shows a total lack of ambition from town. The better long term option would of been wolf. Hannes has all the credentials to make a top european manager. Were going to have a big shock next season.

Got to give him a chance, but im afraid my mind will be made up in the first 30 seconds of his news conference...... first impressions are usually lasting ones and hard to shake off. I am praying he has some personality and talks of full throttle attacking football on the grass. well it wont be on the car park!Goodness me townrwe you are right about giving him a chance if he is appointed butthirty seconds at his news conference?its like judging a player in the same timescale.Bloody Hell

Mid-table security would be judged on the football played. Lower and, unless there are mitigating circumstances, would be disappointing. This seems right in terms of league position; but I think the other important measure of success is whether he's putting in place something longer term.
Brilliant as Wagner's achievements have been I think we need management that is more focussed on consolidation than fireworks now. Keeping the team's identity, developing younger players and so on.
I'd rather a safe mid-table finish we can build on than scraping a promotion followed by another season in the prem that turns out the same as this one.
Obviously promotion followed by a respectable performance in the prem would be best, but if we can't have that then I'd rather have step-by-step consolidation.

but Dean knows what a good coach looks like doesn't he? Chris Powell or Mark Robbins? He made the comment after Wagner was appointed, and admitted he didn't know before Wagner.
