Why can't I call him useless? It is a forum of 'opinions' so many keep saying. Thing is, i can comment on his ability first hand as I've played against him on three or four occasions. The lad will NEVER cut it as a professional footballer. Wow, imagine. That's embarrassing.

To be fair to Luke Ben, it has taken Vardy 5 yrs to be scoring wonder goals for the national team...

He just gets better and better. Can Leicester keep hold of him you wonder...he plays with no fear like each game could be his last and he'll be back turning out at the shay again the week after. Refreshing humility after 2 decades of hideous egomaniac bang average footballers paid millions a year.

This must be the DATM equivalent of "Earlier on today apparently, a woman rang the BBC and said she had heard that there was a hurricane on the way. Well if you are watching, don't worry there isn't,"

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. Regards, Ima Nidiot

On 1 January 1962, before they reached international stardom, the Beatles auditioned for Decca Records at Decca Studios in West Hampstead, north London. In what is considered one of the biggest mistakes in music industry history, Decca decided to reject the band, selecting instead Brian Poole and the Tremeloes.[1]

Bloody London bias!

Wonder what Terrier Luke is doing now?
My guess he's emigrated and living under an assumed name somewhere. Not only would he have to stand the ribbing on here, I expect he spouted this sort of shit regularly with his mates... He's probably part of the bull-shitness protection programme, living in Dungeness or somewhere equally tropical...

Seem to remember he was a "reasonable" goalkeeper when it came to football ability. Like many posters on here, (including myself) he backed himself into a corner when arguing over something. In his case Vardy. His corner was bigger than most, though. Come back Luke - we won't hold it against you, honest. Edit. To be fair to him too, there is no one, and I mean no one, on this board - or in the scouting community professionally - who would have predicted Jamie Vardy's meteoric rise since then.

When you look at how much conviction he had, or should I say arrogance, then it strikes me as someone who maybe needed to grow up a little & who was a little too cocksure. Maybe he has done by now?
You have to be confident in this life, but I always remind myself that you're only ever a short journey from having egg on your face...

Anyone with his pace had a chance to make it to the top and he always scored goals.

The lad will NEVER cut it as a professional footballer. Was terrierluke Lee Clark in disguise by any chance. It was reported that Clark was sent by the club to watch Vardy when playing for Halifax ,and said that Clark reported back to Hoyle stating that Vardy had an attitude problem and would not fit into his Huddersfield Town team. Shame really as he might have formed a deadly strike partnership with Rhodes ,and Huddersfield Town might have been the Leicester City of West Yorkshire.

Even when Leicester were arseholing us 6-1 a couple of years ago and Vardy's smashed one in - you wouldn't have predicted he (or Leicester) would be where they are now. Not sure he even started that day. Could have been Nugent and Woods.
