As mad as half of the shit on this post is- just take a step back and look at the situation. There is momentum here, people are jizzed up about this, no-one more than me. Just keep the excitement building chaps, the club can't ignore it, nor do they want to by the looks...
Home stand today, safe standing tomorrow, premier league next season*. That's how we do. #TheNewEra *this statement may be based on copious amounts of wine and rum.

Flags need to be flame retardent, how the fook are they going to set on fire, you cant smoke any where, no naked flames anywhere, it's a joke..... So much hassle getting flags into grounds these days, took one to QPR last week, stewards at us all the time to take it down, saying it was covering the advertising boards, yet home fans had them in every stand.............. it wont be at tomorrow's game cant be arsed arguing with stewards again, i will just watch the game in my flame retarded clothing!!!!!!!

Happy to help with fundraising collection and to contribute, let me know if you need any help on Twitter Chris. I can also promote it on datm Twitter Cheers mate, looks like a lot of people are interested so I reckon best thing to do is enjoy the weekend and hopefully get through to the next round, then revisit this on Monday and start to get the ball rolling. If anybody has any ideas for flags either have a crack at mocking one up or write your ideas down. Cheers

I designed and drew the original logo you have used for the top three suggestions. Not too pleased to see them redrawn although I know you were just doing it as a concept, kind of feels like someone stealing my work though. It is a logo though so not sure what they think of this? If you did use it I'd much appreciate using an original version, no offence to your artwork but hopefully that's understandable. You're really cut up about that; I hope there's none of your designs on any Turkish markets. As a matter of interest, where have your designs been published for them to be stolen?

It was a logo I did for the thrice champions podcast, it's on the banner in the original post. Just pride in my work that's all. I spent a bit of time coming up with a design for that and then it's just a bit strange to open up a thread on here and see someone has claimed it. All I wanted was a bit of credit for the original work and as I stated I'd happily supply Smithfield with the original drawing if he wants to use it, which i'd much appreciate rather than a copy. Am I being unreasonable? Wasn't intended to come across that way if so.

As a town fan who has made a few home made flags (and left them in various away grounds oops) in the recent past this is a class thread to see. Great to see a bit of creativity on the terraces for a change. A good idea might be to look into a Kickstarter campaign. This is a webpage where you can tailor make a project and ask for donations. You could easily set this up for simple banners up to large scales examples that have been mentioned on this thread. This offers a site for town fans to donate what they can until the specific amount is reached. www.kickstarter.com/we should look into banners akin to the ones that are seen at Old Trafford that drape easily over advertising hoardings and show a message of support. This means they are easy to leave at the ground for the next game or transport to most away grounds. happy to chip in and fund a proactive effort. UTT

Cheers Chris I have sent your dad an idea based on an iconic brand dear to the people of our great town (not covonia). Ps why is bobby charlton doing a gangster/gun pose on the player banner with best and law

OK heres my opinion, I love the Chapman one. I would gladly chip in £10 whether its in my stand or not. Don't these professionally made flags come fire retardant anyway? And like a previous poster has said what happened to the flag that the club provided a few seasons ago that was meant to be crowd surfed in alternate stands every week? What happened to it?

My dad used to do all the signwriting at Leeds road and at the Mac, he recently did the walls in the Chadwick Lawrence away end and the original Cowshed lettering on the back of the cowshed. I'm sure if I asked, to keep costs down he would happily letter any banner provided. He can get cheaply priced banners too in ANY size/colour.

I love the sentiment .. But the one about Dean Hoyle.. Whilst I love it wouldn't it just be a total embarrassment to him ? I dont know him or the size of his ego so I'm not sure

Living overseas, the chance of me ever seeing one at a game are slim but, it's a great idea. Find a way for me make a contribution and I will.

Think its a great idea. The only thing is where would you put it? Like someone mentioned, united can afford to lose out on sponsorship and drape banners where sponsor boards should/ would be. Town are a community club who like to promote local businesses.
Out of interest, how much would a sponsor board be? Say FM stand like united have around the stadium. I think a permanent banner behind the goal where the sponsor boards are would look class as it did when we played at Old Trafford in the play offs. Like I say, the only issue is taking up local businesses advertising space.

I'll be contributing from New York, fantastic idea.
Be great if the club would set a place to one side for a couple - then advertisers won't be offended. I'm sure if you drape it over a hoarding with paid advertising someone somewhere will get a sad on.
Anyway top idea - I actually think DH deserves one, not sure I'd go for 'the chosen one' though - 'Arise Sir Dean' is very good, I have a fairly solid cringe alarm and it hasn't gone off for this one.
Well done to the OP for starting it - hope someone now goes through with it.
I sense a poll coming on.........

I've emailed the club about this, waiting for a response. If the fans, club and players could all contribute to 2 big flags or banners using somebody trust worthy who has experience in organising funding then we could get the banners made by www.footballflags.co.uk/. Has anybody raised money for any similar ventures? Have HTSA done something similar?

Sadly you will not be allowed into a ground with a flag unless it is of a certain size same of what we saw at Wembley . I have never seen a flag sellers offering fire certs with the goods and it might be a good idea to do one with -- RISE SIR PATRICK OR RISE SIR DEAN - MIRFIELD TERRIERS
