He's in talks to sign a permanent deal with bantams . What are your thoughts wouldn't you want him back at Huddersfield ?

No you keep him. He's not good enough anymore for Town and playing in the Championship and should fit in well with you in League 1. He's done really well with you so far and if you were to sign him permanently then you've got a really good chance of going up. Personally I didn't want him back in the first place and it wouldn't bother or surprise me if he's played his last game for town. He'd improve any team in League 1 so you better hope he signs for you. Good luck.

Hope he signs mate, done well for you. Good level for him, we have bigger problems here far too lightweight strikers.

Sure once he gets a contract at Sadford his performances will drop off accordingly. Take it we wont require a fee for him. Certainly not c`ship standard anymore.

Good deal for both clubs and the player in my opinion. Obviously a good professional and good fella. Good luck to Bradford, hope they come up. Easy 6 points next year and another local derby.

Stead goes (if he goes) with my best wishes, for one! He could easily have kept taking his dollar, especially when he wasn't in the then managers mind, but when he came back into the side he really seemed "up" for it. Good luck Steady!

Personally think that given the chance he would do better with Wells than Vaughan, or better with Vaughan than Wells,
But, not really a Championship player, and if him leaving helps grease the wheels to improve the squad then no great loss.

He's not what we need, he's a good league one player, too light weight at this level. Glad to see him doing well for you though so by all means take him.
I imagine a free transfer will be suitable from town's point of view. Stead will probably get an extended contract (till the end of next season), town free up wages for a target man they desperately need.
Everyones a winner!

Another signing that was a waste of money. Effort was there but his legs had gone.

I agree. His return to Town wasn't a great success however scoring a winner against Dirty L**ds secured his legend status!

Town fan and a nice lad he will always love you lot. He will do well at bradford I for one think he's decent at league one gives his all. Good kid. He's had good memories for you and will forever be. Although this season when he's played with wells they done okay as a pair especially v chesterfield .

Fairly unanimous this. Everyone thinks he's a decent bloke, and enjoyed his first spell with Town. Wasn't quite up to snuff second time around but not for lack of trying.
Good luck, Jon. You'll get a good reception if you come back for a cup game over the next couple of years.

Parkinson and Powell spoke briefly last week but its down to Bradford to make some kind of offer... which they're likely to do at some point, he sounded keen to complete a loan or permanent deal when asked on radio. I wonder if the outcome of the replay v Millwall is required first.

West Yorkshire Sport @wysdaily Parkinson also hopes to tie up a deal for striker Jon Stead after he returned to Huddersfield after loan spell. #bcafc #htafc PP: "the chairman was going call Huddersfield this evening (Monday). We'd love to get him on board and we'll do what we can to achieve that"

some hudds fans I spoke to today want to see Stead teamed up with Wells upfront and given another chance, I hope we do sign him but I think he could still do a job for you.

Must be a wages issue as we won't be looking for a fee.. The lad should recognise that we made him a rich man at the start of his career and he should give something back by buggering off to Bradford for whatever wage they're offering. Either that or retiring as of now.
