Watched it live and had to turn it off.. Would usually say His English is better than my Spanish but, in this instance that's not the case... unless ; a. a manager is going to be really controversial or funny b. tell the god's honest truth about what we all witnessed(losing managers especially guilty) I have no interest in post match interviews, difficulty with language just adds to the drone of pre recorded platitudes, laying off blame etc...

I’m not sure about Rowett for Stoke. He’s become a bit of a dour, negative manager in difficult seasons with mediocre squads. Now he’s got one of the strongest squads he needs to deliver. Didn’t look very good at all today. Joe, Leeds were by far the better side against for me the Champions elect. Or they should be as their squad is embarrassingly strong for that level. A Premier League Team playing Championship football. Was having a pint with a Mate of mine who went. Understandably he was pleased and a bit shocked by how good Leeds were but not counting any chickens whatsoever. Long way to go. Apart from hitting the bar, Ince was pretty much non-existent which is surprising as I thought he would immediately make an impact. I would have Saiz here. suspect some of the stoke side still believe there are 3 days left before they play premier league football again.. some will be 'smarting' over their agents inability to get them the move they 'deserve'....?? good time to play them, maybe when reality kicks in they will frame better than yesterday? Leeds pressing, notwithstanding, which was good and consistent...

I'd be worried if I was a Stoke fan after that! I rate Rowett as a manager but he's only really performed with a small budget, totally different kettle of fish managing with a bigger budget and better players and being expected to play decent football and challenge at the top. For the 20 mins I watched it Stoke looked clueless, for an ex prem team that have also just spent a load of cash L**ds made them look absolutely shyte. Early days of course but as a Stoke fan you'd be wondering what they'd been doing all summer. Agree with this, yes, Leeds were good, but more stark for me was what an utter mess Stoke look like. Defensively asleep, clueless in the middle with no semblance of a strategy for retaining the ball or doing anything with it, and Afobe getting increasingly mad up front because he thought it would be easy or something? I’ve never seen a professomal team ranting at each other so much on the first day of the season...doesn’t bode well for them at all.

Leeds fans are too knowledgeable and have far too much class to be getting exited

Once you hit your straps, you will be steamrolling teams I'm sure.

Thought I’d pop over for a catch up Not going great for either of us is it. Watched you a few times and you don’t seem to be having too much luck. Having said that however three points from ten games is desperate stuff. Still at least you’re still in touch with that 17th place so everything to play for We’ve been vastly disappointing and struggling to even make the top half. Again though were still in touch with the play off places
If I was betting man I think I’d put money on us playing in the same division as each other next year. Not saying which one though 😡

Not saying which one though 😡 We have been playing well - generally better than last year - but without getting the results. Got what we deserved today though. Unless we sort out our goal scoring problems we'll be in the Championship next season no matter how we play. I haven't given up, not by a long chalk, but the situation is bad. Luckily we haven't been cut adrift, but we need to get some points on the board. And soon. Massive game versus Fulham at home a week on Monday. I don't like labelling games as "must win", but we need to get a result against them.

The guy is an absolute knob.

How he didn't get sent off for that tackle on Ince last season then squaring up to the Kilner bank I'll never know. Can't stand the lad.

He chooses not to wear a poppy his choice ( not mine and my dad was a proud Irishman who fought for this country) but I absolutely detest him ,his behaviour and the fact that every year he for me sullies our Remembrances in honour of those who fought and gave their lives which has allowed me and mine to have had a good life. The best thing would be to just omit him from being able to display his choice and better still not give him air time .

To be fair we all know he aint going to wear one, he has his reasons and most people know what they are. So why do the press go down and ask him every year? He hasnt changed his mind, he isn't going to,its just a cheap fill space non story guaranteed to create antagonism. He is a cock of the highest order though.

Most Stoke fans accepted he won’t wear the poppy but to compound it on Saturday he walked from the tunnel to the dug out during the minutes silence We shouldn’t have signed him but having done so we should have left him out this week To bring him on with 10 minutes left was stupid

It's well enough publicised why he doesn't wear a poppy and people who don't at least understand his reasons need to do some learning, there are 14 reasons that come to mind why a man from Derry doesn't give the same meaning to a poppy as someone from Huddersfield or Stoke does. Let's not pretend that people in the crowd threw stuff at him last year because he did a bad tackle.
In general I think it's pretty rich that the usual suspects who have such strong opinions about McClean are the ones who in other cases just want to 'keep politics out of football.'
On a note that should be considered separately, he's a dirty bastard and has a lot of previous for dangerous play.
I'll copy and paste this one when it comes up again next year.

Freedom to chose was why they fought and died We should honour them and the principles they fought for, no poppy his choice However he is a prize cock of the highest order he doesn't realise why people dislike him

Didn’t want to start a new thread...
Anyone see the left ankle injury to Ryan Shawcross in Stoke’s friendly yesterday; looked a very nasty one. Can’t see him playing this season so no facing them long throw-ins for us...

Plus what goes around comes around for him. He’s committed some appealing fouls in his time.

There are people on this board who still deny the shooting of unarmed teenagers fleeing the scene by British soldiers even took place so it’s no wonder there’s so many McClean haters amongst thick as fuck football fans. Last year’s performance from town fans in the kilner was a fucking disgrace.
