Cannot beleive the shit this guy is being given - nobody has seen enough of him to make any real judgement. My boy is fire and he's gonna burn through those championship defences! He'll be hopping past those Championship full backs, seeing as though is other half is on his way to Fenerbahce allegedly

He could run twice as fast. Fact is he can’t do it with the ball and has zero idea without it Yet he used it well for the goal v Man Utd, not to mention probably the coolest finish we've seen this season (Grant aside maybe). Agreed he has no positional sense defensively because it's clearly never been part of his game and will no longer need to be. Of course it needs to be. Wingers have defensive responsibilities but he has no idea where to be. Equally when we have the ball he seems clueless in how to make space for himself.

Which is a bit of a concern when one of his major attributes is his pace and he should be constantly looking to find space and attack it.

Hardly going to be on the same level as what we've been up against this season, I'm happy he's signed n looking forward to seeing what the lad can do, as I've said previously there's a reason he makes the Belgium U21 team. He came in, we changed the style, dropped him, changed the manager, changed the style again, he got injured and was pushed back early from that injury. He's hardly had the most settled start either.

The weird thing is, he doesn't seem that quick to me. I clearly must be wrong though, as there's black and white evidence he is!

Mbenza seems to be, but doesn't sound like Diakhaby is based on an article quoted. How much you can take from some of the crap published these days is another matter, whilst things change quickly too. In summary, no idea 🤣

Just been called up to the Belgium U21 squad even though he turned 23 a couple of months ago. How does that work?

Better buy plenty of spare corner flags for this season cause a shit load are gonna be destroyed along with championship defences.

Who was the lad who just got that assist for Poland’s 3rd?
Looks decent.

I must admit i switched on hoping to see him perform well at this level - admittedly it was after 35 mins - but up to now I've seen nothing to suggest that he will offer anything different next season to this. Every pass is either backwards or sideways, he rarely opens out and goes forward on his first touch and when he has tried to take on the defender he has lost possession far too easily! The young 17 year old who came on has offered more and the best player on the field is the Polish CB, Bielik, who was on loan at Charlton from Arsenal last season. It is almost as though because he plays for Belgium Mbenza must be good - even at that he is the over age player - I still don't know what someone saw in him to bring him in!!

I think with a run of games we'll see what he can do, especially in the championship.
Besides he needs to pay that transfer fee back.

I hope we are able to keep Diakhaby because Championship defenses will at best be able to cope with the pace of one of them but I expect if they both play together then at least one of them will behind the opposition frequently.

It will be interesting to see what happens because Jan preferred to play Pritchard rather than both Mbenza and Diakhaby when both were available towards the end of the season. VLP will also be available.

Thats presuming they dont try and nullify it by just camping on the edge of their box
