Absolutely. He's taken some battering here, quite often unfairly, so deserves praise for getting this one over the line.

Unless they do a JS and cock up, in which case everyone will be calling for his head. Again.

Cowleys turned down west Brom last season and sheff weds this. Great ambition shown by the club to get their man.

Agree. Added to that, irrespective of where we finish this season we need continuity. I think the Cowleys can get a tune out of this lot, but if they can't it will only serve to show that the recruitment really has been as bad as we all think it has.
They will probably need January and next summer to mould us into what they truly see as a team that will be successful.
So even if we get relegated, they should be given the time to succeed in the long term.
I am genuinely excited at the prospect of these guys. Despite their promotion successes being at lower levels, the FA cup run they had should point massively to their quality. And they could only beat what was put in front of them throughout their successes so far, so I don't think it is worth judging them on the levels they have already achieved great things at.
Their obvious desire to succeed should be a breath of fresh air for us all.

Been harsh on him over the last couple of months but well done phil for getting a manager who turned down west Brom Wednesday derby Swansea and everyone thought we were going to get Hudson or someone cheap but we haven't , got a really good manager who is still young and can get the best out of young players so well done phil 👍🏻👍🏻

agree he seems to have come in for lots of uncalled for personal abuse. He inherited a proper nightmare and if he has booted out JS and brings in someone that the fans can get behind, then fair enough - if he digs hands in pockets in January to enable us to stay up, then he will be a winner with everyone I imagine!

I’ve been his biggest critic since arriving and the transfer window ending, but it’s a fresh start from me. He’s obviously paid a pretty penny for the Cowleys and the season starts when this appointment is confirmed.

If confirmed, who among the training staff will have to go. Would they bring some of their own mates?

Deserves a pat on the back and a fresh start now! Absolutely agree .The flak he has taken along with the disgraceful comments have been just that .Some if our fans as again has been said should hang their heads in shame . Time to move on now and hopefully their appointment will soon be officially confirmed and we move on and up .

Shame he didn’t approach them in May...I wonder if he didn’t have control or had agreed to keep Jan the twat. It’s a rebuild job now but if they can get it right we’re still top 6 potential.

PH inherited a very poor appointment in Siewert. He obviously didn’t rate him, didn’t back him in the transfer market but didn’t want to sack him ‘before giving him a chance’. But by not backing him he didn’t give him a chance anyway. He’d have been better sacking him end of last season. So I’m not sure anyway should hang their heads in shame.
