Bacuna is bloody brainless, he needs to go.

Whilst watching last night's match, I said to my sons that I was bored to death with all the players associated with Town. On reflection, O'Brien must be retained if we can maintain our Championship status. Similarly, I'd try and keep Chalobah and ESR but I have more chance of getting a promise of a jump with Kate Middleton that ESR coming back here. Possibly Toffolo, if we can get our teeth into coaching him how to remain disciplined when defending. Sadly, I'd happily bin the rest. I include past hero's such as Schindler and Hogg. I feel dirty even writing this. PS has anybody got Kate's mobile number? I think they can still burn you for saying that

I'd keep Chalobah, Bacuna, O'Brien and Toffolo. They would be solid players to have around in a good squad.
The rest would all be free to a good home

In Kongolo we had one of the best left sided centre backs I have watched at Town. Though out of favour and injured this season, if a reconciliation could be done and we could keep him fit, he and Schindler could, once again, make a very good centre back pairing, possibly better as a three with Stearman or Elphick. Toffolo as a wingback with a new fullback/wingback for right side.
Hogg, as brilliant as he has been for us, is one of the reasons we break so slowly from midfield. If we are going to change that we would need a replacement.
O'Brien is first name on the teamsheet for me, and give him more freedom to attack.
We need to replace our strikers, all of them. Mounie is too one dimensional and Grant wants to be playing at a higher level in a better team. Campbell is 100% effort but he fouls too much and he has lost his touch in front of goal. Good man in a relegation battle but not where we need to be moving forward.
Wingers. We need a couple of players who can get in behind and put dangerous crosses in quickly. Also I don't want to see our top scorer taking corners.
Mbenza and Diakhaby are probably beyond redemption. I am more disappointed in Mbenza who I think could actually be a damn good player but just does not perform.
Bacuna. What a talent but you never know which version will come onto the pitch. Such a waste could be real star. I would keep him but he really needs to get some consistency into his performances.
We need a new number 1 keeper. Preferably not a loan but that would be OK if it is the right player.
We have a few who I think need a new start somewhere else. Katchunga, Quaner and Pritchard.
So the Cowleys have a lot of work to do.

Besides Toffolo (still a new signing really) and the kids, I’d let the rest go.
O’Brien only if we could get a decent fee and sell-on.
The rest, promotion legends or not, need to go. The only drawback from such a potential clearout is that it takes time for a whole new batch of players to gel. Which arguably would mean a mediocre season next year and coming on here to moans and groans. 😏

Unless he wants to go there is no right price - we need to build around him. There are key players and, as good as they are, replaceable players. Grant falls into the latter for me - if we can get a good deal then we should as I dont think we, or he, knows what exactly is his best position. Touch needs to be better for central striker and can be worked out on the wing. Like it or not, contracted players will still be here next season unless we get the right deal. That said I think we need a break from the last 3 years- make new heroes

As other people - keep O'Brien, Schofield, Daly and Toffolo, Grant too if he starts playing like he want to be here, and possibly Mounie. I would loan ESR and Chalobah again if possible (it won't be, especially in Smith-Rowe's case). I'm done with the rest. Schindler has been massive for the club but its possibly time to part ways. Same with Hogg - the time has come to move them on and the last 3 years hasn't been great anyway. Lossl, Kachunga, Pritchard, Quaner - I'd quite happily see them gone tomorrow. Campbell, Coleman, Stearman and Elphick I don't dislike but haven't been amazing signings. Last season's shite that we signed have got to be gone, Bacuna can either be good or a liability so its difficult to say, Edmonds-Green needs a chance to prove himself. There is a lot of work to do this summer. I doubt anywhere near enough will get done in terms of ins and outs. Lossl? Probably the best keeper we’ve had for the last 25 years at least. I’d have him stay in a heartbeat if it was possible.

Yes and no, I really dont think I would be bothered if anyone at the club went this summer, if we are talking football wise. Anyone who played in the promotion season and first season in the Premier League and were key players for us, I think deserve to be held in high regard at the football club, including Mounie whose goals probably kept us up in the Premier League. The only worry with a massive clearout, is the players we would be capable of bringing in, I dont think we have the money to bring in anyone decent and we would end up with a team full of Koroma type players and then journeymen free signings, with a couple of youth prem loans. Like the ones we have signed on permanents since summer.

Very surprised with the amount of people saying Hogg can go for them. Hogg is an extremely effective member of our team when deployed in the right role which is very reliant on the players around him taking on the roles he isn’t good at. Think of how good Hogg was at doing all the dirty work, running and winning the ball back when he played with Mooy. If we actually get the right type of players around him Hogg is a very valuable asset and we have the bonus that he clearly loves the club and will always give 100%.
Other than Hogg I would keep O’Brien, Toff and possibly Schindler with the rest of the young lads like DD, Daly etc and build a team from there.

All this talk of getting rid of the management team makes me bloody sick. Have we forgotten how much of a shambles they inherited? One point from eight games, here you go lads try working with this lot.
Give them some financial backing and let them build their own team, in other words give them a bloody chance. Changing the manager every time the going gets tough just doesn't work.

Other than Hogg I would keep O’Brien, Toff and possibly Schindler with the rest of the young lads like DD, Daly etc and build a team from there. Hogg has been a great servant for us, but you are right, he needs more creative players around him. More specifically, he needs to play alongside a playmaker in central midfield. He can then get on with the dirty work and not worry about the creative side of the game. Hogg is currently playing alongside O'Brien. O'Brien has been a revelation this season, but for all his qualities, he's not a play maker. Moving forward, I would like to see Hogg or O'Brien alongside a more creative partner. I don't think they work well as a pair, particularly at home. O'Brien has more attacking qualities, and is an emerging talent, so I would expect him to take over from Hogg as time progresses. Which begs the question: would Hogg be happy as a second choice? That said, perhaps the Cowleys prefer two workers in central midfield. Maybe they like solidity in the centre of the park and prefer to see the creative spark come from other areas of the team. I really don't know. If they are still around next season, hopefully these questions will start to be answered.

For the sake of the club and the fans sanity, they can all go, rebuild the squad although clearly some will be staying as it's probably impossible to shift them all. I would sell Grant and O'Brien to fund a squad rebuilding programme, see how we go with that. Anyone who would see O'Brien leave wants their head checking.

The most important thing is to ensure we loan the right 5 players for next season if we are in the champ. Chalobah has worked out in the end like to see him comeback as a defender, Lossl won't comeback so sign a keeper permanent to avoid wasting a loan spot there like with Grabara. ESR won't come back so yeah its 4 spots we need to fill. Core players with a bit of class about them a centre mid, a winger, a number 9 and a centre back would be ideal.

I don't think he's a particularly good captain either, when the chips have been down over the past few years he's always been on the pitch but how many times have we turned a game around over the last 4 years or so? Even reading your post it sounds like we'd need to build a team around him to suit him, but is he really good enough to build a team around?

Anyone who would see O'Brien leave wants their head checking. I don't want to see him leave it's more of a necessity for the money to improve the squad. there will b a few hard decisions to be made out of necessity what ever division we are in but I certainly don't think it will involve the cowleys.

If we go down I'd keep him as I think he'd better suited to that division, however, if we stay up I'd tr and offload him as he's not good enough for this division anymore. He's only here on sentiment, the same as Schindler and Kachunga.

O Brien, Toffolo, Hogg, Schindler, Stearman.. theyre the only players we own that Id be sorry to see leave.
But Id want to persevere with pritchard, partly because we'd lose a fortune on him if he left, but also because i think there is a player in there... hes proved that in the past at this level only 2 years ago. For whatever reason he hasnt shown it for us, but that player is still there somewhere.
We'll be stuck with most of the rest as no ones going to either want them, or be prepared to offer them anything like the wages they get here.
And I wouldnt change the manager even if we went down.

We had one killer ball played into the box at Hillsborough that set grant up with a good chance.. and it was Hogg that played it. Think if we were to release Hogg then just about every club in this division would take him if they could. Hes just the sort of player managers love.
