Whatever happens, there is going to be a massive change in playing staff. What a shame we can't keep Scott-Rowe, Willock and Trevoh for a while longer. Realistically we may be able to have Trev for another season. Perhaps Willock too, but I can’t see Smith-Rowe(Scott-Rowe) coming back. Sadly. I dont think we'll be wanting Willock back. A few flashes of brilliance but on the whole not consistent enough

I could see us moving for Sean raggett who was a main player at Lincoln, sold to Norwich for good money and just been released Was a big player for Pompey last year, only 26 and a no nonsense 6 foot 5 centre back I remember reading plenty of Pompey fans findind it hilarious that we were linked with him in January because they thought he was garbage Maybe one to swerve then! I read up on him and it sounds like he started there badly as he was coming back from an ankle injury but got stronger and jackett would like to sign him

A few flashes of brilliance but on the whole not consistent enough Young players... inconsistent. That's why they go out on loan. Look at Chabolah... mid season people were calling for him to never play another game. Fortunately he has really found some form and is probably the best player we've had since the restart.

It has been hard to introduce young players this season. Danny Cowley has often said that they need protecting and nurturing and I think it was up to the senior pros to sort the mess out we got ourselves into.
Next season I hope to see more of the younger talent given game time and see what we have. Quite a few have had an odd appearance this season and time on the bench. Hopefully a more interesting and less fraught season.

I want someone who's motivated every game, not just when it matters to him.

Do you think his football is good? The football wasn't even "good" under Wagner. However, what Wagner was able to do tighten the unit so that they gave everything, give them supreme confidence, and win without scoring many goals. You couldn't say the football was good, or a delight to watch, or exciting. Saw something this week that from when the Cowley's took over our position would be 13th (Steve Chicken?). Whatever division we are in next year, they will have learned and improved. The football under Wagner in the promotion season was absolutely superb, forget the goal difference and concentrate on what you saw with your own eyes. People have short memories, I loved watching that team, the passing, work rate, skill, pressing, possession, superb football and it was recognised by the entire league, other fans, pundits etc. Dont you remember the “We made Huddersfield look like Barcelona” comments that we got after outclassing teams week in week out??!! We murdered the opposition most weeks, sky games had pundits purring, it was brilliant football,, best I’ve ever seen from a town team by a mile. “The football wasn’t good”, seriously? ?!!!!!

cowley said something in his post match interview that got my attention in regards to what has been going on at the club. I wonder what he meant because he seemed to keep it deliberately vague.

Hopefully referring to the bad apples that he got rid of sharpish and replaced with “good men” as he put it. I am worried about the finances though, even before Covid we’d gone from not needing to sell anyone to selling some for big fees, getting rid of many on loan and yet still over budget in January after bringing frees and loans in? Doesn’t add up. I’ve literally no clue how we are financially and if we’re going to be able to be competitive in the market. I do worry the business plan involved getting rid of the wasters and perhaps taking fees. The recent video from the chief exec seemed to be designed to tamper any expectation.

In our promotion season I’d take my seat and at 3pm would look down at the technical area and see Wagner stood there with his arms folded. I remember thinking that this was the first time in my Town watching lifetime that I had total confidence in the man in charge. Our football at times, was absolutely brilliant and I guess we’ll never witness such a feeling of togetherness again.

It was heart attack inducing compared to the stuff before it under powell, robins, grayson et al and those since. Some of the anti wagner comments are a disgrace

Someone mentioned that they had their glasses broken at our game v Watford ( Tom Ince late winner ) I can honestly say that in our promotion season it was a standing joke on our row of seats that every week one of us would break our glasses in celebration at the endeavour, spirit and at times, wonderful performances under Wagner.

Mooy is the best I've ever seen in a town shirt, I remember that Brentford game first up vividly, he had 4 of their players around him at one point and still managed to turn and find a pass could tell he was going to be special at that point, agree on the Brighton performance too that or Norwich away were up their with the best. It's really had to judge the Cowley's if any other team in the league had got 1 point after 8 games and stayed up we would be praising them, stay up or go down we need to give them time. I for one vastly over rated some of the complete rubbish we have in our squad so can't blame them for struggling. Sums up my feelings re Mooy also. In all the years of watching football, the only time I’ve focussed my eyes on watching just one player it’s when Mooy played. I remember the pass you mention, it was unbelievable how the he could accept a pass when under extreme pressure and still retain the ball. The Brighton game is also one of my all time favourite Town games - one where absolutely everything clicked, all 11 players coming good at the same time. He got an assist in that game too 🤔🥴😁

Not only that, but once we were a goal up, total confidence that was all that we needed and the other team were not coming back. You could then luxuriate in the football as you do in other seasons when you are 3 nil up without being on edge.
