I feel really sorry for Aarons. The lad must have been really looking forward to playing some football and he now has to sit around for another 11 weeks. Might not be dead yet 😉

Yup.. Tis a fact that Dirk has risked his neck in the past to pass on titbits. Some people eh? You're spot on Ted, I'd miss Dirk (Maynard) a lot more than anybody who'd slag him off.

Thanks for the back handed compliment. I don't need to justify myself but I said a striker was close, which it was as Grant leaving was close...til WBA backed out. I said I HOPED for 3 in, as everyone within the club was doing, and was still confident last night, honestly don't know what has gone wrong today but obviously plenty...however I believe we will be trying to partially rectify this over the weekend. It seems that my info isn't good enough for some on here, and people are also twisting my words so I'll be keeping my 'wide of the mark' info to myself for now. Cheers Interesting. I presume that means free agents? You'd think so, but after the paperwork not been submitted on time today, I can't see us bothering to do anything

Maynardblue has admitted that things must have gone badly wrong today for there to be no incomings..... he’s basically confirmed that Bromby and his team have been/are incompetent. I bet Corberan won’t be best pleased tonight.

So to sum up we have got rid of 1 x GK 3 x RB 1 x CB 1 x CM 3 x Winger 2 x Striker And also saw the following loans end 2 x GK 2 x CM 1 x AM 1 x Winger And we have replaced them with 1 x Gk (loan) 1 x RB 1 x CB 1 x CM (loan) 1 x Striker Plus the return from loan of 1 x Gk 2 x Winger That's 17 out and 8 in in a squad which was already fairly thin whilst pocketing 20m. That could rise if Kongolo goes. I'm struggling to find any words to describe this other than a total joke. Plus the massive reduction in the wage bill.

The clubs plan is obviously to survive with as little budget as possible. I think they will have looked at Sheff Wednesday on minus 10 and Wycombe, who look doomed, and thought they will take a chance on there being another team worse than us. It’s all very uninspiring. I think defensively and in midfield we are ok, but we are so weak up front and out wide. If Carlos manages to keep us up he’s done an amazing job. The problem is that we will end up losing Carlos if we don't back him. Back him and we could get promoted under him.

Disappointed but I await a town statement

Mendez-Laing is still a free agent, left sided attacker as well.

Mendez-Laing is still a free agent, left sided attacker as well. He was sacked by his last club. I suspect he'll be looking for a far more professional club than us 😁

Brilliant in the past, said we were getting a striker on loan a few weeks back when we signed Eiting and said 3 incoming this week. Deserves the upmost respect for the news he’s delivered on here over the past couple windows but he’s been well wide of the mark it appears Thanks for the back handed compliment. I don't need to justify myself but I said a striker was close, which it was as Grant leaving was close...til WBA backed out. My sympathy is with Carlos. He probably got the job as he was desperate for his first step in management and he won’t challenge Phil on the lack of signings, but he deserves much better. THIS. I've been ridiculously impressed with how he's improved the style of play, how much better a number of players are playing and the quality of signings that have been made. We're desperate for another striker and with a half-decent one we would've been looking up the table rather than down. I said Carlos would be quality and I got proper dogs abuse on here. What’s really upsetting though is the resources given to yen Cowleys. Carlos could’ve had us in the play offs with those resources- Willock, Esr & Co.

Out of contract players this season is a little different to most seasons.
I’ve calmed down a bit, let’s see what tomorrow brings 👀

Scratting around in the bargain basement like last year, fucking hell they don’t disappoint do they. Who’d have thought the rookie recruitment team would fuck it up again. Phil will be whining about having to pay has beens a kings ransom because he’s been too dumb to do some proper business within the window YET AGAIN. Fucking clowns. Bet Carlos is wondering who the fuck he is working for.

He’s probably pretty angry too.

Bet Carlos is wondering who the fuck he is working for. It certainly has a feeling we’ve been here before. Players fell through cause we sold Mooy last minute. Started the season with gaping holes in the team. Like you say paying too much for unfit players in a panic. Then waiting for the January transfer window panic and chucking money at it then, messing up the following season.

And the kicker based on sarr is the free agents will have to isolate for two weeks before they can enter the sports bubble So that’s November before any reinforcements in the best case scenario - absolute circus

Rectify it by signing out of contract players..there is a reason they are out of contract I reckon you'll be changing your name to double negative after today I was prepared to wait until the transfer window closed...Now I will say 'I really don't think it is good enough'. I understand the impact of covid but I do believe we have reduced the wage bill significantly and should have had enough from player sales and parachute payments to still get in a couple more players (winger and striker preferably). I thought we only had £4m left to pay this year to dean hoyle and we should have some of the money set aside for canalside. When Maynardblue says we still hoped to bring in 3 today then that has me worried... have we not understood the expectations of the players or have we tried to get better deals last minute from the clubs or agents and it has back fired. Worrying times and I am concerned how Phil is taking us forward.

Though maybe we should have had feet on the ground up there to push and make sure it happened?

The inference was that it may have been up to 3 incoming, not just Aarons (assuming he was one of the 3). I understand what you are saying, and negotiations are a two-way street (at least), but for all 3 deals to fall through? Sheer bad luck or incompetence?
