In Big Phil’s defence, he must have agreed to spend the brass on Aarons only for Devlin and/or Bromby to fuck it up. He’s probably pretty angry too. How did we get to the stage that Aarons was identified as a suitable replacement for Grant though? Months upon months of scouting and we end up with Aarons? Because Leigh Bromby is an academy coach and Josh is good at Fifa or something. Simple as that really

Does anyone with anything to do with the club have any kind of backbone? Things change, things don’t always go to plan and some things just go massively wrong. Big Phil seems to have joined the witness protection scheme, Devlin only picks arguments or begs on social media, the communications team seem to be on commission for selling Golden Gamble tickets and Maynard, who is a top poster, threatens to take his bat and ball home because someone points out the detailed prediction he made didn’t come exactly true. We need more robust honesty and less over-sensitivity. You saying I have no backbone pal? Do you know the risks i take and the shit I get to post on here? Your posts are appreciated, absolutely. Emotions are clearly riding high right now so I'd let it all cool down. Don't take it too personally. We all care, we just need to see some direction and something from the club to let us know what's happening.

The lads on a free in a matter of months and he ain’t gonna walk into to the first team between now and then. I reckon both parties would be keen as fuck to get it done.

[br Just that I’ve read a lot of Newcastle fans saying just like their club to not let the guy go and they should now just release him from his contract so he can sign as a free agent 🤷🏻♀️

It appears that the appalling potential signing of both Aarons and Nugent becomes a disaster when we didn't sign them. Maybe selling parties and players wanted more money than the club thought that they were worth. There may be unattached players with greater value for money than these two.

First team squad of 22 players, including 3 goalkeepers. Just going by first team profiles.

Right, wheres that list of free agents? Who'll all have to quarantine for a fortnight before building up their fitness in training. If we're lucky we could have a couple of has-beens in for the busy xmas schedule.

Wow, wow, wow, wow......absolutely wow. A gamble to say the least.
If we stay up with no additions then fair play.
If we get relegated, I'm shaking my head already.
Wow!

For me the accusations made by DePoitre/Simpson/others that we have been an amateurish unprofessional club for YEARS (DePoitre) ring true. Even PH said that the club needed changing from top to bottom. IT SEEMS,ALAS, TO HAVE GOT WORSE.

Straight question Positive. ...& Please give me a straight answer ...are you happy we didn't strengthen today after finally concluding the Grant deal? ...or disappointed? Disappointed but I await a town statement You’ll be waiting a long time then cos there’s been diddly squat from the club so far this season.

Unless they are already in England? But don't they have to be part of a sports bubble, which free agents are unlikely to be. Sarr was quarantined because he was coming from a foreign country and not part of the elite testing bubble. If we sign out of contract players from any countries we have quarantine rules for it will be the same. Not for UK based players

I'll expect Danny Welbeck & Daniel Sturridge to be ready to sign on the dotted line on Monday morning

Brilliant in the past, said we were getting a striker on loan a few weeks back when we signed Eiting and said 3 incoming this week. Deserves the upmost respect for the news he’s delivered on here over the past couple windows but he’s been well wide of the mark it appears Thanks for the back handed compliment. I don't need to justify myself but I said a striker was close, which it was as Grant leaving was close...til WBA backed out. I said I HOPED for 3 in, as everyone within the club was doing, and was still confident last night, honestly don't know what has gone wrong today but obviously plenty...however I believe we will be trying to partially rectify this over the weekend. It seems that my info isn't good enough for some on here, and people are also twisting my words so I'll be keeping my 'wide of the mark' info to myself for now. Cheers Don’t do that Maynard. Most normal people understand that things change and that what is hoped for isn’t always what comes through. Does your comment above about this weekend mean we are looking at free agents? Is there still hope....!?!?

However, it does make me laugh when others post a rumour (or a bit of info) and if it doesn’t come to fruition then they get called every name under the sun. The same thing happens to Maynard, and there’s a complete understanding that things in football can change. Shame really. But like I said, keep it up, Maynard.

Who is actually in charge of transfer negotiations? Bromby?
From what i can see the players we’ve signed were not wanted by other clubs. We didn’t fight anyone off except Rotherham for Danny Ward, but lost out on several eg the lad from Man United.
With months and months to plan for this transfer window as soon as it shuts were ringing agents of unemployed players begging. We didn’t want them before but please come now.
Heads should roll.

Was trying to think this morning of all the targets we’ve missed out on - Aaron’s, the lad from United, the defender from Everton...sure there’s been quite a few over the last couple of months.

Keep up the work Maynard - it's always interesting to read what might happen and that is the nature of football - it is always a might rarely a certainty. For what its worth, in and amongst all the transfer posts, I think the most important transfer was CC arriving from up the road. He has given me hope and interest in the team again, strange but I no longer watch a game think that we will automatically lose or worse still not get any players into the opposition box. Bringing him in might not have cost a lot but I'm sure paying off the Cowleys will have done. Just my opinion, there are those who understandably would have wanted the Cowleys to stay but I'm more confident with the current coaching team new signings or otherwise.
