Well, for me, I wouldn't be going if "everything gets back to near normal". A family I know in the Southport/Ormskirk area are very ill with COVID despite being double-jabbed and U-60. For anyone who thinks COVID is an old-person's disease or that it is just like bad flu, this is an informative read: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-57840825 . Take care and stay safe. I don’t want to get into an argument or fall out but are you saying you know a family from Southport with Covid and for that reason you wouldn’t go to a football game there ? If you are then I genuinely feel for you, it must be terrible that the last 18 months or so has had such a negative and frightening effect on you, take care and stay safe is fine but you are going to have to live with COVID, it’s not going away, ever, so take care and stay safe while going to the football and getting on with life with a degree of normality, the alternative is not very palatable. There’s literally a million and one things that will potentially kill you or reduce your life expectancy, from driving a car, drinking, smoking, eating a burger and staying out in the sunshine - you can do all of them as part of taking in the game at Southport, lots of people will do. Exactly.. Life's too short to be avoiding this and that. I'm in my early sixties , the age when you go to more friends funerals than weddings. I plan to make up for this past lost time we've recently been through by cramming in some extra activities , starting with a weekendender in Southport. I sort of understanding certain people playing it safe , but when i see a lone person driving a car all masked up , I can't help but give my head a sheck..

I sort of understanding certain people playing it safe , but when i see a lone person driving a car all masked up , I can't help but give my head a sheck.. I spoke to my lung consultant yesterday & discussed this very issue. He told me that currently in HRI they are seeing much lower numbers of hospital admissions, albeit they are still very busy. Most of those they are seeing need oxygen, not ventilation and virtually all of them have either had no vaccine, or had one & failed to get the second. I talked to him about getting out, resuming life, going to football, etc. Of course he's not going to give me any 100% guarantee on anything, but basically said that he felt with a bit of common sense, I'm as safe now as I'm ever likely to be.
Good enough for me & I am like a little kid waiting for tomorrow!

Near the ground & looks to have a beer garden. Probably get a taxi from the hotel to allow for afew extra sherbets pre match.

Anyone thinking of making the trip tomorrow, apparently tickets will be available from their club shop. You may even get a glimpse of an old friend. 🦒

Well it would be in my bit of rural Scotland but none named that. Could certainly make a good rude joke about The Thatch and Thistle for sure ! Maybe a connection with Scotland there.. Hopefully a few of our local single malt whisky’s in there. Whatever, do enjoy terriersyndrome and all your fellow travelling fans also !

Is it going to be streamed? If not I may have to juggle some things around and make the trip over

I've heard he's going to be laid down at pitch side for that "feels like you're here" effect

Great to see the sunshine, (I’m sitting out on it with Lagers & Lime and the iPad broadband is catching the seat thankfully) ! Pure brilliant to see Town fans seeing the team live once again.. and always awesome to see HTAFC winning... even in a pre season friendly !
