You shouldn't be taking it out on the lads and lasses behind the goal, fairplay to them for even going to be honest.
As someone else said, this had culminated over the past few seasons. It isn't just a sudden drop in crowds or atmosphere. Who is to blame for that. The people who have been running the club.
Ive chose to go watch my local non league side today over town and will probably continue to do so till atleast the end of the season. I always thought non league football was shite but I enjoy it more than town these days.
There's plenty of things this club can and should be criticised for over recent times but the fans isn't one of them.

I'm nobody. It's an opinion that's all. If they cant be arsed I think they should give up. It's distinctly quiet in the ground...and one group have lately taken responsibility for the atmosphere. What on earth do you mean by 'give up' though ??! Are you suggesting because one section of the ground doesnt make noise that satisfies you, they should all instead stay at home and play on their Xbox's, whilst the rest of the stadium thats making even less noise carries on attending in silence? There's nothing magical or special about the South Stand mob, not everyone is in there *BECAUSE* they want to shout at full volume for 90mins, some are there because they want to stand up whilst watching football. I'm not happy with the amount of moaning from the Riverside stand and reckon they should 'give up'. I don't know what they're giving up though. π€π€·ββοΈπ Ok Nigel. Carry on as you were:) The Riverside dont annoint themselves as the atmosphere providers. If it's good they'll also it up...and collect funds. If its shite they should take it on board and do better. Away sides are taking the piss, repeatedly. If the CL are happy with that then so be it...although 'The Cowshed' wouldn't

It's not a case of the football encouraging the fans...the fans need to step up and drive the team...starting with the self-annointed Cowshed Loyal/South Stand...man up or give up. That's a really cheap shot Mids. A word of encouragement might be more helpful

Obviously not, otherwise I wouldn't be asking. WHAT are you asking the South Stand people should give up? Give up even attempting to make any noise, a bit like the rest of the ground? Give up standing up, a bit like the rest of the ground? Give up the South Stand and go and sit somewhere else, so that away fans can have a bit more legroom? Give up and stay at home? Something else?? I honestly thought you was more cute than that

The fanβs passion matches the boardβs and the teamβs.
Given they pay to witness such dross whereas the board oversee it and the team gets highly paid to produce it itβs pretty poor to have a pop at them.

Know you've never liked the CL mids but surely encouraging the group to give up would be a little counter-productive?! You keep saying this for some reason...and you're very wrong. All I'm saying is that if they can't bd arsed then that's fair enough. I know Scoffa is no longer here to lead the singing but perhaps someone else can step up when the team are being shite...ideally without any women having to hide away. It's all good Mids, but let's not pretend that you don't have a bit of an issue with the CL - always the first to jump on it whenever the atmosphere drops. Fortunately, you haven't got the rousing support you were expecting here and most of our fans acknowledge the current situation in the ground. The atmosphere really has dropped, but there are plenty of excuses, sadly.

The atmosphere was inline with what I expected today after the last few games including Barnsley last week when we look clueless, lethargic and play at walking place I fear the noise will start again before long and it will be toxic. Carlos was lucky that some players played well above their paygrade, Koroma and then Thomas who now look like passengers on the titanic. Its clear left to Dean in normal times he would have pulled the trigger but now doesn't know whether to stick or twist. I would be saying adios Carlos and welcome Farke.

But if the atmosphere is shit then those who claim the plaudits should be the ones that questions are asked of. Sorry if you're offended, but hey ho. Sing louder and more often, and the discontent will be merely whispers. Try copying the Twist & Shout song and that might warm up a few vocal chords...it was good that...and drowned out the roar of the CL for a while...that's how effective it was

The style of play also heavily influences the atmosphere at any ground, not just ours. An ideal example was today with Coventry. Around 70th minute they had 2 or 3 corners within a couple of minutes, piling on some pressure, their crowd volume went up a notch and stayed up as they were pressing. Had they pissed about with the ball, passing it back to the edge of the box, then back to midfield, then back to a defender, then back to the keeper, then to a defender, then the keeper, defender, midfielder, defenderβ¦.

You've taken a few cheap shots at the efforts of Ben and the CL. You sound as if you are resentful of the new generation. You are tarnishing your own good reputation in the process. Embrace and encourage them. They are the future and we should be enthusing them in their efforts rather than kicking them when they're a bit down.

You're assuming everyone who goes in the South Stand wears a virtual Cowshed Loyal pin badge and is solely there to bring some noise? Well thats nothing close to the truth...the vast majority are there because they want to stand up at football and be in and around a place where when things do liven up, its the place to be...a bit like the Kilner Bank was in the late 90's. Can't comment on raising money or speak for the core CL people about flags and stuff, I have zero interest in that. PS - What I remember about the Cowshed from my place at the noisy end of the East Terrace is that most of the time they made virtually no noise. I didn't suggest they 'give up' though!

Donβt know how much crossover there is between the CL and the young lads that go to away matches, but perhaps now weβre officially βmid-tableβ we canβt fill in the gaps by banging on about going up/down with a fiver in the bank?

Why a fellow town fan would take significant time and effort to continuously belittle them is ridiculous. Like the spotty/fat kids in the corner of the school disco laughing to each other about how sad all the other people are having fun on the dance floor.

Certainly no offence taken - those days passed many years ago - I just think for the sake of genuine discussion it would be good to acknowledge your issues with the group. I'm not having a go, but we all know the situation, and whenever faced with those comments you just respond with 'I have no issue with the group' and sarcastic smiley face icons. The best thing, if you have genuine interests, would be to offer your thoughts on what could actually help the atmosphere, certainly at tough times like right now.

I'm sure there's plenty more like me which will be a contributing factor to the poor crowd...
Do you spend Β£50 on fuel, more Β£ on beer/ food etc. and your whole day travelling to watch Town?
Or do you spend your Saturday doing as you please without the expense of the above when you can watch the game on TV?
