Wagner fired the crowd up. He engaged with us. Carlos doesn’t. Carlos doesn’t even engage with the players. Not in a way they can understand anayway.

Watching the match on tv yesterday what was noticeable apart fom the empty seats was age of the fans. Every crowd shot seemed to be some flat capped pensioner or grey haired woman. Now Ive nothing against those, I wear a flat cap myself (although in a trendy and cool way 😉), but they are less likely to crank up the noise or invade the pitch than your youth wing. It’s a shame that more people who aren’t a pensioner showed the same type of loyalty as they do. Then we might have bigger crowds than we achieved yesterday. Some people sat around me have been following Town through thick and thin for decades. No matter how bad a run we are on you can absolutely guarantee that they will be sat there for the next game.

I’ve supported Town for 60 years since I was 5 I make noise when I see something worth shouting about at the moment it’s boring negative the only time we stand up is the halftime whistle I hate the playing out from the back it slows the game down all football is going down hill they’ve forgotten they need to entertain us

Dont go!! I'm not paying 25 quid a pop to watch this garbage. If enough of us stay away the penny will drop with ALL concerned. To be frankly honest the club have been lucky to get the support they have had since relegation and the dross dished up since, so stop letting them make a mug of us all. We can all get behind effort even where there is lack of talent but the effort has to be directed and chanelled in the right way. It's not and it hasnt been for the last six or seven games now. I'll go again when the either club has been taken over or Carlos has departed and the team can make an acurate forward pass. I find that quite surprising from yourself, merely because of then fact you have been a fan for decades and will have watched them in then depths of div 4 at their lowest ebb, i admit its not a great watch at the mo but tbh im more of a 'win 1st entertainment 2nd' person.

It’s possible for a crowd to energise a team but not possible when the ground is half empty.
So staying away is not really helping the cause in my opinion.

I'll be honest I could hardly muster a cheer when we score, cos I knew the inevitable was now on the cards - sit back until they equalize and then maybe even sneak a winner, It's so depressing. If I didn't meet up with my mates and have a good laugh in the pub before the game, I'd probably stop going. The earlier we score the more depressing it is. I've never known a team play like us at home. Its hardly successful.

People are talking as if we have fallen from top of the pile of most vociferous home supporters. Let’s be honest, over the decades, we’ve never really had a massive vocal home support. Forget away game and promotion seasons. Away games are generally great, we have some of the best away support, I would never dispute that. Promotion seasons are great for any team, no matter who you are or what division, of course the atmosphere is going to be great when you are winning every week. Too many people are still fantasising over the Wagner era. It was a one off. Yeah we make some noise every now and then, so do the other 91 clubs. Most of the home support of all clubs has been shit this season mainly due to the shit standard of football in this division. It’s not rocket science. If you are battling away at the top or fighting for your life at the bottom then the atmosphere reflects this. Mid table, poor football with little to no attacking threat then it will be pretty silent. If you watch football on tv the championship lunchtime games are almost always played in complete silence.

Yeah early kick offs are never great for atmosphere. There is always the odd exception but very rare. 3pm and 7.45pm should be law.

The Atmosphere has gone down hill around the ground since we got rid of the clappers. love them or loath them they did make noise young and old joined in not necessarily singing but making a platform of noise that did reverberate around the ground. Also the dross we are watching does not help

To be honest I prefer Saturday lunch to any time on a Sunday. Saturday is the day we play the game.

Put the away fans in the bottom tier of the opposite stand so when its raining they get piss wet through and have a truly horrible day. We all know that wont happen, the home side should have the whole of the south stand end of,the atmosphere on a home game is shite and untill we stick the away fans elsewhere out the fucking way then it wont get any better. Always thought they should be in the top tier of the Riverside. Loads of other clubs stick the fans down the sides or even worse, in a corner (Leeds, Man Utd, Wolves, Palace, Ipswich, etc, etc) and we should do the same. There's definitely more of a reason for doing that than simply controlling where the fans leave from, as it's easy enough to hold the away fans back for 10 mins if necessary.

But, Tell that to Newcastle, they've been allowed to get away with it for years.

I like terrier park did not go yesterday and I have also been watching Town since 1962 I was not feeling that great so decided to watch on TV instead of going to the game. But to be honest my decision was an easy one as the quality of football at the moment is simply not worth watching. Also as you move into your later years you take a different view on life from when you where younger. I think we have a Manager who is out of his depth in the Championship and the passing back and sideways is just soul destroying and it sucks the life out of even the most enthusiastic fan.

Must be expensive in terms of manpower to lay them out on each seat, and somewhat futile given the entertainment. However, with the ground being half empty, they wouldn't have to put as many out the following game 🤪

But, Tell that to Newcastle, they've been allowed to get away with it for years. Newcastle had an exemption made of their existing long established policy when the rule change came in. IF they had away fans at pitch level and then after the rules were changed decided they were going to stop that, then they'd have no chance...just as we have no chance of ever introducing fans into the upper tier (only).

Saw Town lose 5-1 twice in same season to Shrewsbury, 1984/5.Didnt give a shit. But at age of 57 the lack of any positive football is palpably unappealing.

What a load of nonsense, it is too early to create a good atmosphere it is all down to what we see on the pitch. Yesterday was such a poor atmosphere because we all knew we would yet again throw away the lead because of our dire tactics nothing short of appalling management from our stubborn manager who will not try and play another way, it is getting to the stage of not looking forward to a game and it is the first time i have felt like that in 55 years of watching Town. The man is obsessed with trying to play it out from the back when clearly the players hate it.

Any rules against sticking them in the car park? 😁

Since the CSL set up the atmosphere at the farm has improved beyond recognition. Ok we have certain games where it’s not great, but lunchtime kick off combined with dreadful performances doesn’t give much hope. Go back 40 years plus and the home atmosphere apart from big games has always been average until the last few years
