I don’t want to derail this thread but I know about how ingrained and important the GAA is to life in Ireland, and I agree with you about hurling and Gaelic football. Hurling is a terrific game. Hard as nails those fellas agreed, lunatics! watched mates cousin playing at the back of the old Supersave supermarket.

What a fucking joke. No idea what the justification is. Why can’t we just get on with our lives? Imagine the train and hotel costs up and down the country that will be wasted as a result. Grand Central have refunded my train tickets. No problem at all. We were due on the grand central tomorrow too from mirfield, i was under the impression we couldnt get money back on tickets but i might pass this info on to the bloke who booked them, we were thinking of using the tickets and going down London for the day so they're not wasted.

What an awful response many on here have produced. You live in Great Britain, a great monarch has died, please show some respect. What a horrible, selfish, demeaning outpouring. Its those on hear that have no dignity, that are a disgrace. I am not a royalist, but 70 years! is something special. It is traditional to have a 10 day mourning period. I think its a doomed historical relic of the establishment. I flicked through the various news channels last night, it is a worldwide thing only 2 channels not giving wall to wall coverage. I think we may underestimate the impact she has had in her life. Look its a game of football (played by overpaid semi skilled athletes). Its not the end of the world. The standards of behaviour in this country are on a downward slide, its politicians, junior members of the royal family, civil servants and people.

That's two games we've now got to catch up with in a hectic schedule because of that stupid world cup mid-season in a country that's never seen a football before. The world is run by fucking idiots! My thoughts exactly. The FA are a totally clueless organisation. They are at times.... but they are the utmost professionals in comparison to the SFA / SPFL (SPF-hell) up here in Scotland !

Hard as nails those fellas And the women (Camogies) 28091 - once seen a match in Ballycastle between their team McQuillans and Loughgille and halfway through the second half a riot took place - cue every female camog battering each other with their Hurley sticks and the referee abandoning the match - Luckily they all had head and face protection gear on ! Half an hour later these very very Bonnie Lassies were showered, titivated up, beautiful slim figures and best of pals in The Boyd Arms Bar in the Town firing down the booze by the gallon ! Definately one of the highlights of that stag weekend for sure !!!!

But I’m not turning up until after kick off as I’ve now withdrawn all my respects And if the funeral is on Monday 19th my neighbours might get pissed off as it’s my daughters 18th and we’ll be forced to have our party at home. And it will be a party.

Well the original poster themanfromatlantis was almost a true psychic by offering match postponed in his poll -
Albeit for Danny and the team getting waylaid in The Westgate and missing the bus...
Still postponed tho - Gutted for the fans that will lose out financially on non refundable pre paid travel and hotels...
Ma Local pubs are losing at least £100 of my booze money - no footy then no Saturday pub, ma mate not going either so while they won’t go outta business on that it’s a loss that won’t go back to these pubs on the eventual midweek night it’s played...
Fishing last night - looks like Her Majesty took all the mackerel with her - caught zilch, hopefully better tonight and tomorrow night as gonna be sober now but would far rather be phished...
Might get the steps repainted in Huddy colours as weather to be decent...
Thank fuck for Alexa as the Radio is bloody depressing !!!

The illogicality of all of this means I’m still able to go watch rugby at Esher v Rosslyn Park tomorrow afternoon if I want to. No doubt plenty of beer will be consumed to toast HM’s memory in the bar at the “rugger”.

Am out karting and tenpin bowling tomorrow afternoon for a small family stag thing for my youngest. After being soundly beaten at karting and bowling at least I wont also have to suffer a beating at QPR. Every cloud etc etc. UTT

I think it will go ahead with similar protocol to what will be seen today for the Giants game, although our friend Jeremy Simpson is named referee.........some may say , postpone it now!!
