Convinced that Town vs Reading will be a game where we both send Cardiff down with a draw Barnsley-esque! Take it in turns for the goalie playing keep ball Play Nicholls and the other 21 players can get the deck chairs out

You can just tell it's building to a final game of season 'winner takes all' confrontation with Reading. Love to send their bug eyed no mark of a manager down.

I’d love us both to stay up on the last day similar you that Barnsley match. Their fans were a class act at Wembley. Would much rather see Cardiff or QPR go down.

Im picking us to stay up, who then goes down is moot..

Brilliant news.. I'm always the optimist, but before the last three games I was fearing the worst . How quickly things change..

He's done all right to be fair to him. I had very much the same thoughts and I think he deserves a bit more credit. The slow slide down the table from them has come from embargos, a wafer-thin squad and injuries as much as anything. One thing I have noticed is that Lucas Joao is apparently fit at the moment. One potential banana skin; he's their X-factor and if he's fit in the run-in he'll give them a whole extra dimension. I read that he has been available the last few games, but for whatever reason is left out by Ince. He's played in every game they've had in March and April, with a goal and an assist!?

The only one that’s here (Paul) is one of the best - went to have banter with him earlier and he’s off The West Island at the minute... When we won on penalties to get to The ‘Promised’ ? Land he was so good about it, bought me a few beers etc that I wrote him a commiserations note stuck to 15 cans of Tennents Lager ! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 😊 👍

Yes! The planets are aligning Aye - well the ‘Mercury’ levels will be at boiling point today with The Reading fans ! - They might be thinking “what a bump back down to ‘Earth’ that is and it’s a right sore boot in ‘M-ars’ and it’s ‘Saturn’ around of some ‘space’ in the points difference, and to The EFL to stick their their points total up ‘Uranus’ !!! 😊 Never mind - with a loosening of their spending restrictions in the close season, they can watch some of their new ‘stars’ at ‘Plough’ lane next season ! Get thisen over to the Astronomy thread with that post Westie

Whilst the Reading points deduction is great news for all at the bottom I would add a word of caution. It could well completely demotivate the players but they now know their fate so it could act as a spur as well. And they have a winnable game tomorrow. We shall see.

Said similar all along, it can spur a team on. Leeds once started a season on -12 and got in the playoffs, Rotherham survived one season after a big points deduction, Derby made a good fist of it last season but just fell short, teams often form a siege mantality. Readings is only -6 points and considering they aren't even in the bottom three its certainly not insurmountable they'll stay up, hopefully they'll capitulate and the punishment will take its toll.

I’d counter all that by pointing out that Readings manager is Paul Ince

It will be down to how determined teams are to give that bit extra to survive. In that context having the wily old fox Warnock on board should give us an advantage. These last 7 games aren't like any other games played this season. Nerves and tension are everywhere, not everyone can cope with that.

With Reading the last game, it's in our own hands now. That in itself is pretty incredible UTT With all the games between other relegation candidates, it has never been out of our own hands.

Then 3 3 and 4 4.. as it went on.. From last season when I knew we would not lose, no matter how off the team often looked, to this? Perhaps Im not made to follow Town🤪 Im due a rethink after 50 odd years?

Can we just have one season where we win one, draw one, lose one and essentially look like finishing mid-table from Christmas on, please. All this fighting to go up or fighting to stay up is knocking years off me!

They've been chanting him out for the last couple of months. According to their forum, some of them were chanting Warnock's name just before he got the job here, bizarrely enough. Especially given the history between Warnock and Reading. Hopefully Ince keeps his job as he's doing brilliantly.

Time to dig out the prediction website… thefishy.co.uk/calc.phpDone a couple of times and had us on 49 and then 50 points. Getting stressed out using the fishy predictor during the run in has been the most consistent feature of our post premier league era. Many managers and players have come and gone, but every April (or June during lockdown) it makes a return.

I listened to Paul Ince post Preston match. He was very frustrated and blamed the players poor decision making and criticised them for not calling each other out. I think he will be sacked today.
