Through no fault of his own IMO. Terrible move on his part, joining a club in flux with such a scattergun transfer policy. His performances for t'trees didn't warrant his treatment IMO. Some bad luck too the way his loan deal fell through. I don't see how posters can level that against him. He wasnt listening to the instructions they gave him.. or was listening but just wasnt doing it. Thats whats cost him his place there. My mate has a source in the forest coaching staff. So they'd say it was his fault why they ditched him. He might have stood a better chance to make the PL grade at a different club if one had followed up their interest and wanted him. I rate him a lot but probably as a very good championship player. Think in the PL in the box to box midfield role you've got to have a bit more quality than LOB has.. a bit more end result. But hes still an age where he can improve that yet, so who knows he might still succeed if he gets another crack at it. The standard central midfield position in the Premier League doesn't really exist anymore, you need to be a top level technical player who can get hold of the ball, keep possession with ease, control the pace like a Rodri for example. Or you need to be a midfielder that can score a decent amount of goals at the elite level which we could all name a few. LOB will never be able to do either in the PL and like Captain says all the PL teams know this it's just Forest were buying everyone and anyone this summer. Another season or two playing at the top end of the Championship he might have got a place as a squad player at a lower end or new PL team. |

Thanks Dean for not going down what appeared to be the ‘easier’ (or only viable) route of the club going in to administration. This would have automatically meant relegation to league 1.
Your selflessness and devotion (and ongoing funding) to the Club financially gave us a chance, a very slim chance, but a chance of remaining at Championship level. A chance that has been unbelievably taken.
Warnock himself has been quoted as saying his return to manage was largely down to you.
You deserve a huge amount of credit. Some of us, well many of us recognise this.
This thread though shows up so many that didn’t and don’t.
Thanks Dean, now go and enjoy life, hopefully with good health away from the stress of running a football club. You deserve it.
